David Sedaris doesn't write enough, and I can't subscribe to the New Yorker just in case he has an article.

I agree with you, in fact I have just been through a load of old paperbacks with a view to recycling them. I can't bear to part with the Sedaris ones despite them being battered.
I really enjoyed Augusten Burroughs, although the subject matter can be very dark (his dysfunctional/ abusive childhood and subsequent alcoholism for example) he writes about it brilliantly and is very very funny.

I read Running With Scissors a while back. I did hear Sedaris on R4 - then went to see him give a reading at the Fringe last month, can't find it anywhere online but his article Children Of The Corn Pasta that he read aloud had me in kinks.

I hate being in need of something just right and not being able to lay hands on it!

I'm another who can't help, but wants to agree that he is so funny. Hearing him read is even better than the books.

Just marking my place here in case anyone has any suggestions. I love David Sedaris and am very envious of those people who've been to see him read.

I queued up like a proper groupie and got my book signed and talked to him about Zombie Plans and he signed my book "To Snigger - we both have a plan...." and he said he can't bear to hear the R4 recordings because he hates his voice and I fawned and generally made an utter drooling tit of myself.

I saw him a couple of years ago in a small theatre in Glasgow. I'd never heard of him, and went along to keep my friend company. It was a great night - he read an excerpt from When You Are Engulfed In Flames. He was very funny, and good company in the bar afterwards where he was signing books.

Agent, I saw him in Glasgow too. It was at the Tron, wasn't it? I was there with my brother and we were in hysterics when he was talking about his dad and family stuff. He could have been describing us .
