recent book about first love???

I heard a radio review a while ago about a book written about somebody's first love and how they'd never forgotten each other and I think, charting their lives through university, etc, then they met up some year's later. Does anybody know which book I mean with that rather crap outline I've provided??? I fancied reading it, but don't have any of the details! TIA.
