I didn't really "get" it either but I enjoyed the journey to get there. This was the first Jodi Picoult book I have read and I was reasonably impressed.

Its the first Jodi Picoult book I've read too. I couldn't put it down but I thought the ending was a bit rushed after such a good build up. I think I kind of get it but it doesn't really make sense!

I've read a few of Picoult's books and far too many have bonkers endings.

I usually enjoy the books and then get to the end and think WTF? Confused

I find all books tend to merge into one, so apart from Plain Truth I can't remember which one is which. But equally if I choose to I can read one in 2 days!

i love her books but all of the endings are a little odd and you never quite know what happens!

I think this is one that I just couldn;t get into (Plain Truth, similarly). I really liked The Pact and Nineteen Minutes and another, but the name escapes me. I find it best to read them sporadically, otherwise the style, type of story and characters just merge...individually though I quite like them. Fairly easy reading, which is just about all I can manage without falling asleep...

I've read this one but can't remember it. I dont know why I've read so many of her books...she writes to such a staid formula that like Keziahhopes I feel they all blend into one another.

Salem Falls was her best book IMO, but thats not saying much.

Read Harvesting the Heart. The writing is good, but it seems to be written in a different style. Not so formulaic. It meanders gently along and isn't building towards any massive twist or climactic ending. I really enjoyed it.

My sister's Keeper made me MAD. Felt like I'd been the victim of a confidence trickster at the end of it.

I also really enjoyed Salem Falls LittleWhiteWolf. I only read about one a year. I think that's the key to enjoying her books!

Diane chamberlaine is a very good American writer targetting a similar audience, but her books don't have a pain in the ass ending that makes you cross.

can't remember much of it but wasn't the gist of the ending that she'd been faking all along? Or have I misunderstood????

Try Diane Chamberlain, she writes in the same style, I love Jodi but Diane has kept me on the edge of my seat !

The Secrets She Left Behind is fantastic !
