I wish I had joined Slimming World. Instead I joined the WW and went only once, was tempted to subscribe on line for four months, never went back during the next three weeks and when tried to leave, could not. You will be locked into paying for this, if you change your mind or take ill and can't go. They basically are a money making organisation so really like the many gyms which similarly offer subscriptions on line via your bank accounts for a so many months, they will want you to stay!
I'm locked in to a deal now, so have no choice to pay up, even though I can't attend classes. In the end, the best choice is slimming world pay as you go, where there is no linking into subscriptions.
The staff you have to phone at WW to try to persuade to allow you to leave, will not let you go and they may even be quite cheeky, as they were with me. They basically will go on and on saying the company speel of how you signed up, so that's that, whether you attend of not.
It may work for some but not for me. I should have learnt by failed gym subscriptions but no, and now I'm locked into paying for this subscription too. Wish I went to a slimming World. I

Unfortunately it will all be in the agreement when you signed up. And slimming world isn’t pay as you go... you still have to pay for missed weeks.

So, you subscribed for 4 months and are surprised they are holding you to that 4 months? Pretty much every single subscription deal would do this.

No, I’m just putting my views across Soup Dragon. Is this not the point of this forum? I’m promoting only my point of view!

That sucks. I did slimming world. There are subscriptions available but they never forced them on us, infact they discouraged it and said to just pay weekly :) I wonder if either way it depends on who is taking the class or even the area like some of them might be getting pushed to get memberships where as others might be happy with people just showing up and paying on the day.

If you join online you are covered by a 14 day cooling off period, even if you signed up for a 6 month subscription but if you do it in person, there's no get out clause.

Before I joined WW this week I asked WW on Twitter how I could cancel should I not get on with it. They replied saying that as an alternative to phoning, something I refuse to do on principle, then I could use the following email [email protected]
