Going to do WW after New Year - when to join?

I have decided to do WW starting 2 January but am wondering when is best time to join and whether it is worth it to join Studio as well as Digital. The current price for 3 months Digital plus Studio, with a 50% discount, is £32.18.

Do they often drop prices further after 1 January or is this likely the best I will get?

Do you all find it worth it to have access to meetings, or is online sufficient (it looks like around £1 per week less for just the Digital option). When I went years ago going to meetings was a given. I do have access to convenient meetings but am wondering if it is worth it.

It appears if I only do Digital I don’t have access to the app, is that right? How can you do the program if you don’t have the app?

Finally, am I overthinking this? I want to have my plan in place for 2 January so there is no excuse to delay it, so maybe I should just bite the bullet and have the membership in the back pocket. While I have the money to get my health in order I need to try to get the best deal I can as my funds aren’t unlimited. What money I save on membership I would like to spend on quality food so I don’t have to rely on crap ready meals and artificial sweeteners etc.

Good luck to all who want to reduce in 2019!

I joined today, just the digital one. Have downloaded the app and all ready to go. Weighed in at 10at 11 lbs and set the goal at 9 at 12 lbs. Have been losing and gaining the same half stone for the last year so absolutely determined to lose these 13 pounds before they find some more friends and become two stones. Have down W W before but very different now. Have a New Year's Eve party tonight so going to be sober driver😂

mommybunny if you do online only you will definitely have the app.

I’m thinking of joining again, is it still Flex FiveShelties?

Yes, it is still Flex, has a huge list of free foods, sadly wine is not in it😀

I pay for only the online version and I definitely have the app.

It works really well for me when I stick to it! 😂 I've started today again.

Thanks Dobby but I couldn’t wait and just bit the bullet and joined on Sunday. I work in the City with a meeting place that’s not too far away so I will try to do that along with the app.

I made up a weight to enter for my starting weight, just hope it isn’t too far off reality when I have my first “official” weigh-in on Thursday! 😬

I have also bought some fat free yogurts to leave in the work fridge so again, there is no excuse for not getting out the starting gate.

Good luck all!

Nextissue, Studio is the new name for classes, and the app has free exercise plans for members to use. Just tried the walking one tonight and its really good :-)

There used to be a long running WW thread on here - is it still going?

Thanks I used your link. Also showed it to the woman who was joining at the same time but was unaware of the online discount! Now I just need to find someone else to use my link Lol!

Anyone recommend some people on Instagram to follow? Can't use Facebook as too many of my friends have recovered from eating disorders so I don't want any diet stuff to appear on their feeds via me.

@szetox Thank you! I started a WW chat thread which looks to have some Instagram accounts to follow, I’m popping over to catch up on it now Smile

Fed up with being fat, and want something easy to fit in with my life.

Many years ago when I was fit, but lazy n fat, I joined rosemary colony (spelling).

The same weekly fee for you 45min aerobic exercise class included.

So why pay a fee to be told... Youre fat, you're not dieting properly.

Or

Have a small weigh in, with a quick chat in how to help yourself, and then exercise for the SAME PRICE? like you, I worked hard, and long hours (was over an hour travel each way) so wasn't home til gone 6, having gotten the 6:30 bus in the morning. I didn't have it want to go out to several different classes each week (plus fit in being the local Avon man!) So a 2 in 1 was best for me...... I did lose some weight but started to plateau very quickly.

Now, I'm back to being well overweight, but try as.i might can't lose the weight (have lost some due.to.illness). Trouble is, now I'm disabled with a crumbling spine (many collapsed n bulging discs in lower back n neck) I can't exercise. I do push myself to go out at least 3 times a week, even just to get fresh air n gawk while having a coffee!
