Half a stone before Christmas? Whose joining me?

I'm on day 3 (yes, early days I know) of the PP plan. I've done WW in the past but gave put it all back on a year on from having my son.

I'm planning on going for achievable. There's 7 weeks to go, so with Christmas parties ahead, I think a 1lb a week weight loss is achievable.

So who is joining me?

Hello all! I am glad I am not the only one. I am 5ft4 and now weight 13st1lb, which is horrific. I have never weighed this much before. Its a mixture of laziness, difficult pregnancy and eating too much cake with friends whilst I was on maternity leave. Now I am back at work I don't plan well enough either.

My top tip for the week is spring roll pastry. Two pieces of it are 1pp, so if you spray it with fry light and bake it, you can get some really low point meals.

These apple pies work out at 1pp each or 2 for 3pp

These mexican spring rolls are 2pp each, according to the recipe and you can serve them with point free salsa and avocado etc.

I look at lots of American blogs, my current favourite is www.skinnytaste.com/. The recipes are in cups, but it doesn't matter as the points are worked out for you. Some of the branded food isn't available in the UK though.

They look interesting, will give them a try. My problem is mindless eating, I need to break the habit.

Me too! I joined again last week and my leader thinks I should target myself to 12lb for Xmas! What! I'll go for 7lbs! I lost over 2 stone with it while having my son now I'm just over over 13 stone and only short!

While I meant before ha ha!

And my main problem is portion control! I eat right things but too much of it!

I need to do something. I'm 5ft 10 and nearly 15stones. The heaviest I've ever been and that includes when I was pregnant. I got down to 13st with WW when dd was 2 or 3 and I have gradually crept back up to the 14st I was when I started WW and have passed it by. I have to say 13st was positively skinny for me. I'm proper big boned :) I had decided to start after the half term, cos I find holidays difficult for eating properly. If I can get in 7 weeks of good habits before Xmas, I reckon I'll be able to fit into my Christmas trousers from last year, if nothing else. I would like to join if I may

12lbs by Christmas? That's just silly, Fizzy. I mean good luck if you can do it, but to tell you that that is your target is ridiculous.

It is ridiculous I think the leader was just trying to motivate me. I'd be happy with any weight off as I've been trying for the last 6 months and nothing was shifting it

Can I join you too? 7lbs will be the last of my pregnancy weight :) (just the pre-pregnancy stone or two to go after that!)

I'd love to join too please!! Did WW last year and lost 3 1/2 stones, but have put back on half a stone which I would really like to lose. Could use a bit of motivation to stop the snacking ...

Sounds good kosher

I've started with porridge (oats so simple, w skimmed milk) with a tsp of nutella and a banana for 6pp, but I haven't planned out the rest of the day yet. Probably brown pasta with roasted veg sauce for lunch, with a spoon of Philadelphia stirred in (7pp) but dinner is much too far away to think about yet!

I should warn that I am currently bf the baby so I get a rather hefty points allowance (41!), so if it seems like I'm eating a lot, it's because I have to...

I'll join you. I keep procrastinating over which approach to take / diets don't work etc etc. I started the year on WW, but used BFing as an excuse to go overboard with snacking. Did 5:2 fast successfully for a couple of weeks but then fell off the wagon around my birthday and just couldn't get through a day of fasting despite several attempts since then.

DS turned one last week so I have no excuse to be at the high end of overweight any more. I need to rethink my approach.

I've rejoined online using another TopCashback deal. This time I'm citting out snacking altogether. I'm pre-planning each day's meals and using up to four weekly PP to make sure I have three filling, healthy but most importantly normal meals.

So, 7lb by Christmas it is.

Today it's:

Porridge with skimmed milk, banana, apple and a scrummy Danio yoghurt.

Tuna mayo sandwich on thick sliced wholemeal.

Salmon and rice with roasted veg and broccoli.

Not diet food at all! (I prefer skimmed milk). No snacks.

Hope we all did ok yesterday.

Today my plan is
B- Scrambled egg (1 small egg, 2 egg whites) and Turkey bacon 4. Greek yogurt and blueberries 2.

L- veg and barley soup 1, cheese sandwich (ww cheese and warburtons thin) 4. Cherry tomatoes, apple

D- cod baked in a Spanish style tomato and pepper sauce 4, medium baked sweet potato, 4. Whatever veg isn't limp and soggy.

Snacks- sataumas, maybe a cereal bar 2, and another yogurt 1. I still have a few points left to play with through the day.

Been grazing today (and yesterday). The baby got me up at 5 so I'm knackered. Still tracking and keeping inside the points allowance though!

Weigh in wednesday for me tomorrow... When do you all weigh in?

KosherBacon · 05/11/2013 20:53

I weigh in tomorrow evening too, so fingers crossed for both of us.

I've lost 1.5lb. Puts me on track for my 7lb by Christmas, but I think I secretly hoped it would be over 2lbs so a little bit gutted, but at least it's weight off and not on.
