Hi Ladies,

Today is the first day of the rest of my life. I have had enough of being fat. My ds is 15 months old so have no excuses.

I find it really helpful to post how I have done each day, gives me motivation to not veer too far from my healthy eating plan as I will have to tell all!!! So here goes,

Breakfast: Bran Flakes with semi-skimmed milk
Snack: Fresh peas from pod (odd I know but I love em!)
Lunch: WW cheese spread, turkey and salad sandwich on granary bread
Snack: Fat free yogurt
Dinner: Omlette, cottage cheese and salad
Desert: Snack a jacks caramel

As its only 2.40pm I am hoping I stick to dinner and snack I've planned and not eat anything other than that today!

So who's next?

Rest of morning: water

Lunch: 0.5 slice of brown bread with little bit of Flora and a slice of chicken waver(?, whatever it is called)and 1 slice of brown bread with little bit of Flora and Marmite and small bowl with strawberries and cup of tea

Definitely eating a lot less (and only one helping in the evening rather than stuffing myself). Also trying to drink lots of water and maximum two cups of coffee a day (difficult, especially in the office). So far, no biscuits/cookies/crisps/chocolate, but still early days. I am not weighing myself yet because don't want to be disappointed. I don't think that I have lost much weight yet, but still early days. I did consider Alli but have decided first to try losing weight by just cutting portions and not having lots of snacks because in the past I successfully lost weight after diets but then put it straight on again once I finished the diet. I also set myself a food curfew of 8pm. Anyway, tonight I am going to treat myself to a nice face mask.

Shellina · 05/08/2009 20:14

Good idea on the face mask, I think I will do that tomorrow night! How did the rest of your day go?

I've had good day again woohooo:

breakfast: shreddies
lunch: ww cheese and turkey sandwich (again) and some strawberries
snack: raw garden peas (again)
Dinner: baked potato with cottage cheese and lots of yummy watermelon

I sooo hope I can keep this up....

It is going kind of ok, definitely eat a lot less and have been very good: no crisps, chocolate, biscuits etc. Difficult when DH and DD are having biscuits and chocolate etc in the evening then Pineapple seems a poor substitute .....

Morning: cup of tea, muesli and apple and semi-skimmed milk (am going to look for ordinary muesli (more grains and less raisins, nuts, etc).
Lunch: 1.5 slices of bread with chicken and cheese and strawberries

Afternoon: cup of tea, nescafe cappucine from a sachet (that is my afternoon treat, used to be several cappucinos with muffin from the Costa Coffee/Starbucks)

Dinner: water, home made minestrone and pineapple for dessert

I am drinking lots more water which I actually start to enjoy (not a great water drinker normally) and drastically cut on coffee to one cup and maximum two cups a day.

I make sure that I have watermelon/pineapple/strawberries in house to snack on. I have also read that if you are really hungry it is best to take something with protein such as a slice of chicken rather than a cracker/bread as the former will have a longer hunger stilling effect? Also, trying to walk more (brisk walk).

Mind you, still don't have the feeling that I have lost much weight (based on how my clothes fit) but don't want to weight to avoid disappointment and I really want to try to do it through healthy eating rather than a specific diet.

How are you getting on, Shellina? Do you notice a difference? Do you find it difficult?

Yesterday I ate:

Breakfast: Shreddies with milk
Lunch: Granary bread with ww cheese, turkey salad sandwich (am addicted!) and some blueberries
Snack: Banana
Dinner: Homemade potato, leek and veg soup with slice of granary bread, and 2 apricots then bit later bag of raw garden peas

Have found just keeping myself busy especially in the evening stops me from going into the kitchen and stuffing myself full of chocolate. Also planning what I'm going to eat each day really helps. Am only 5 days in but feel so good especially at the end of the day feel smug that have eaten healthy all day and not been naughty. I'm also not weighing myself have decided just to go by what my clothes feel like. Hope can keep it up!!

Hi all, can I join?

I am actually on holiday at the moment so not dieting yet but am joining now in the hope of moderating the binge mode I'm currently in, just a little bit. I'm planning to start Zoe Harcombe diet hopefully the day I get back (a week today), and think I might as well get into the food-diary habit now, rather than sticking in the 'stuff it all in before it's forbidden' habit.

So, today's crimes: 2 small bowls of Country Store (sugary muesli - only vaguely edible cereal I can get here - not a good start)
Small glass diluted orange juice
Steak, chips and minimal salad followed by Nutella crepe
Large square of chocolate
Small bit of baguette with cheese
Couple of slices of watermelon
Pain au chocolat
Good amount of water

Hope that makes you all feel better

Will keep reporting back and hopefully this will help. Not sure how accurate scales here are but will weigh tomorrow by way of a reality check
