I'd love to. I need to lose a stone too but not sure this week is a good one to start with as 2 DDs getting over swine flu (or something...) so have had a week without sleep and they're still feeling fragile. But, if I don't start sometime then I'll never lose the weight and there are always reasons not to do it.

I think I shall start with small steps (fruit instead of chocolate and biscuits) and see how I do...

I've just posted on the Slimming World thread as I need to get back on track again. I won't be re-joining group though - I think joining 7 times previously is enough . I've got that fat and frumpy feeling again so tomorrow is the day for me to start again.
I'll definitely join you.
Good luck.

Can I join in? I've lost a stone since last September (in fact, I'd lost it by Christmas), but since then I can't seem to shift more than a couple of pounds before life (in the form of Christmas, birthdays, holidays) interferes and it goes back on.

I've been eating three good meals a day, always with protein so I don't get hungry, no sweet things (in theory), ditto alchohol, and I'm hoping to either swim or do an exercise DVD three times a week.

Can I join? - I stepped on scales today after seeing v unflattering holiday pics and realise I need to lose about 2 stone. (I knew I was overweight I just didn't want the scales to confirm it). Have started today with slice of toast and butter. I will try to weigh in on mondays and fridays to keep going.

Hi everyone
How are you doing so far?
I have been to the shop this morning and stocked up on fruit and also bought a little notepad to keep a food diary.
So far i have stuck to my two bowls of cereal and planning to have a reasonable sized portion of chilli instead of my usual huge mansized portion !

Can i join in please? I had my last baby in feb 2008,always put on about four stone with each baba and have managed to loose it each time but with the last one i still have that last stone to go.

I have been really lazy about it though plus i think it is harder to loose weight in your thirtys .

Not such a great start today..i have had cheese on toast.Think i will do the cereal thing as well.

Good morning all! Well I managed to keep of the chocolate and biscuits yesterday and cooked a v healthy fish in tom sauce with just a couple of sprays from one of those low-cal oil sprays. Just had breakfast - toast and marmite.

Interestingly I lost all my baby weight after about 6 months, but this weight has crept on over the last couple of years. I have never been skinny but am now crossing line into looking overweight.

I always lost my baby weight in a few months too - we moved to the country about six years ago and since then I have to drive everywhere.

I wasn't especially fit or toned in London, but walking across the commons several times a week obviously burning the calories.

I find it a pain now to have to make a special effort to exercise - still, I'm aiming to fit in a Davina McCall DCD today.

Morning, well i weighed myself today and as i thought i have at least 13lb's to get rid off.

It is toast that is a bit of a downfall for me,so today, soup for lunch and i will buy some cereal later. D o you think M&S triple chocolate crunch counts?

May I also join in please? I gained a stone after I quit smoking which I haven't been able to shift (for two and a half years ). Getting married next month and could do with losing at least 3kg - sorry for the metric [calculates furiously in her head] - that would be around 6.5-7lbs.

Breakfast today was a thin slice of wholewheat bread with a tb of peanut butter and low-sugar jam.

Hi - I did my exercises last night! Feel chuffed as it's the second time this week.

I did succumb to a mini Magnum last night, though - I got back in the habit of expecting a dessert when we were away in Cornwall a couple of weeks ago.

Will have to work on it.

Hi ladies, how are you all doing?
I have had a good week.I always find the weekends really hard though.Too much temptation around!
We usually have a take away on a Saturday as we rarely go out.

Hi, can i join?
I would like to lose a stone after i gave up smoking at Christmas and took up eating instead.

I am trying to do this by cutting down my portion sizes, having cereal instead of toast and butter for breakfast and doing 60 mins exercise a day.

Today we are going for a bike ride as a family and tomorrow we are going for a swim so just need to eat well......

Hi,
have had a poo day today! Spent most of it in the car to and from an interview. Then i had a sandwich with stilton in and a slice of chocolate tart....
then dd came home with a bar of fudge for me to cheer me up....

Am now going to have to do some vigorous hoovering and tennis on the Wii to burn it all off.

Yesterday was good though, had a long walk and a long bike ride, went to bed very tired but feeling good.

Tomorrow am going to try for a swim whilst dd is at a club day out.
Salad for tea tonight.... again! Is too hot here for anything else really.

Hi all, can I join? Well done with the weight loss Bonnycat, I feel inspired!

I am actually on holiday at the moment so not dieting yet but am joining now in the hope of moderating the binge mode I'm currently in, just a little bit. I'm planning to start Zoe Harcombe diet www.mumsnet.com/Talk/big_slim_whatever_weight_loss_club/802314-This-could-change-your-life hopefully the day I get back (a week today), and think I might as well get into the food-diary habit now, rather than sticking in the 'stuff it all in before it's forbidden' habit.

So, today's crimes: 2 small bowls of Country Store (sugary muesli - only vaguely edible cereal I can get here - not a good start)
Small glass diluted orange juice
Steak, chips and minimal salad followed by Nutella crepe
Large square of chocolate
Small bit of baguette with cheese
Couple of slices of watermelon
Pain au chocolat
Good amount of water

Hope that makes you all feel better

Will keep reporting back and hopefully this will help. Not sure how accurate scales here are but will weigh tomorrow by way of a reality check

Oops I meant to post that on the food-diary thread, sorry. Although I do have about a stone to lose and was planning to join this thread too! Plus I did a duff link.

This is the Harcombe diet thread.
