Need to lose 1-1.5 stone

I've now got to the stage where I want to lose weight, not loads but still, I've never had to lose weight before so not entirely sure how to go about it

Before getting preg with my 1st child I was 57kg (8.5 stone) I went to 84kg (13/14 stone I think) at the end of the pregnancy, and lost it pretty quick. I was 67 kg when I was pregnant with my 2nd child (1st was 5mths at this time) I went to 83kg then.

My youngest is now 2yo, so I've lost all I'm going to lose without doing anything (I didn't do anything and most came off after Dd!) so now I'm going to work at it..

I'm 73kg now (11.5stone) and I'd like to get to ideally 10 stone.

I eat heathily (well just started, am cutting out all junk), I walk lots (2-3 miles a day) and I've just started doing more excercise lately, sit ups, push ups.

Is that the best way? Will it come off if I continue that?

I had two stone to loose and now have 5lbs left to get to my goal of 10 stone, but its not been easy. Ive had to do a mix of weightwatchers and a fairly serious amount of exercise ( 40-45 mins, 5-6 times a week ), but its been worth it, as not only has the weight come off, but Im not pretty toned too, so its doubled the effect of how much weight its looked like Ive lost.

After my two dcs, Ive found Ive had to be much more dedicated to loosing weight that I have in the past, but am now a lot fitter, healthier and have more energy, so the changes are worth it.

I have also heard that the Food Focus website is very good and there is a thread on here for that, as it always you to count your calories, without following a particular kind of diet.

Good luck, I am sure you will get to your goal soon

I lost about alot of weight just by cutting out wheat - I haven't done anything else in particular to lose the weight (I'm not starving myself). I wasn't aware that I had a problem with wheat, but within a fortnight of cutting it out I'd lost over half a stone and stopped feeling bloated. A few weeks on and I've lost just over a stone.

Hope that helps

Thanks, I'm really not feeling like eating & I've no idea why I guess it's my body reacting to the lack of junk?

But, I checked my bmi, and despite being in healthy bmi range I still want to get to 10 stone!

I'm 5"8.5 and 73kg (11.5 stone)

Well, I am a bit taller than you and also a bit heavier!
I want to lose another stone (I have recently lost 10lbs).
I have started running again and cutting back on carbs. I try to be low fat but I do like wine (lots of) at the weekend and cheese.
I think portion size is key as well, I put on 2 stone when I first met my now DH because I was eating as much as him, which is far too much!

I'd love to go running again, used to do a lot of running & swimming but with a 2yo & 3yo excercise/social life is limited!

I have just been eating normal meals, and lots of junk, which is not good and I hate the way my body looks. Bought some scales today and was rather disgusted that I weigh that much

I was 83 kg at the end of Ds' pregnancy.
I'm 73 now, he was 4.150kg, then waters/placenta, in reality I've lost barely anything!

Stomach is killing me from excercises.

Does that just mean it's working? Feels sore/tight, done another 30 sit ups and 20 press ups.

Shall I carry on through the achy ness? I'm thinking I should but don't want to strain my muscles.

Take it slowly, the Jane fonda feel the burn approach has now been disproved, but you do need to push yourself.
Could you get to a class?
Spinning is amazing for toning up and losing weight. I used to do it (can't fit a class in now as wrong times/nights) and the results were fab.

Can't do classes as have no-one to mind Ds, Dd is at Playschool 3 times a week but I always have 2yo Ds with me.

Will get a couple of dvds I think, that might do the trick?

Thanks.

I put on 5 stone with DS - it fell off with 'Yoga for weight loss' by Kisen. It is amazing. Put on 3 stone with DD, In three months I lost nothing, then start the yoga vid again and have been loosing 2 lbs per week. I found other vids made me just eat more wheras the yoga one made my appetite shrink.
