Hi - tomorrow I'm going to start this diet - it really is my last attempt at a diet as I seem to have wasted so much money on a variety of diet books & shakes over the years. If I fail this time that's it but I so do not want to fail. We go on hol in 5 weeks time & if I'm going to enjoy it I need to be able to fit into my clothes.
Any tips or comments please - I so must do this x

Hi - I haven't tried that diet, or in fact any diet where you buy a book and products like shakes. But I have been managing to lose weight, just by noticing what I'm eating, reducing portion sizes, avoiding rich snacks, not finishing my plate when I'm already full, etc.

If you've tried loads of diets and haven't found they work for you, then maybe you need to try a completely different apporach, rather than deciding that you've "failed" and this is your last chance.

I don't know how much weight you are hoping to lose, but 5 weeks doesn't give you very long to make a significant change. Maybe it would be better to focus on enjoying the holiday, then sort out your weight over a longer time.

I don't know anything about this book but I'd encourage you to give it a try. Losing weight quickly can be done and for some people is better than slow weight loss. I think high protein is good for supressing appetite so is good for quick weight loss (3-4 pounds a week). I lost 3 stones quite quickly last year and haven't had any problems keeping it off. Thanks guys - the past 2 days have been good. Amuminscotland you've made me think that I should enjoy my holiday if I haven't managed to lose weight by then & afterwards have a serious re-think! However I am still focused at the moment & although have been a little hungary it's not unbearable.
