Paul McKenna weightloss system

C1NDY · 09/06/2009 09:47

Hi, I have just started the Paul McKenna weightloss system. Would be interested in anyone else who wants to join this journey with me. I have started the 90 days journal entry.

I went to Paul's seminar on Saturday and found it truly inspiring.

PLEASE DO NOT COME ON THIS THREAD AND TELL ME THAT PAUL MCKENNA DID NOT WORK FOR YOU. AS I AM SO INSPIRED THAT I DON'T WANT TO HEAR THE FAILURES - THIS IS GOING TO BE A SUCESSFUL THREAD! If I follow Paul's rules I can't fail.

Look forward to anyone else wanting to share positive thoughts on this system.

Thanks
Cindy

hi there

I am doing this too, it seems to make so much sense doesnt it

at the end of yesterdfay i did a quick tot up and found that i had eaten around my ww allowance for a day - which made me feel like I had suceeded in managing it myself without even needing to write things down and count as I go. I'm sur ether will be some days when I dont eat so much and others where I eat a bit more but it will balance out in the end.

One thing, I go to work at 7.15 so end up needing breakfast at 6.45 - trouble is, I am not actually hungry then????? I teach, and between dropping my dd at nursery and setting upo the classroom, the next break I get is 10.40, by which time I think I would be starving if I didn't eat at breakfast. So I have been havikng a small bowl of cereal but this feels wierd because I am not actually huingry because my body isnt properly awake yet - any ideas as to whther this is okay?

Ginger I have the same problem too.... but I start work at 8am and am not hungry until well say 9:30 but I am lucky I have a desk job.. so I pretend I am working but I eat conciously and taste every mouthful (goush, I am brainwashed!!)

This is difficult one... What you should do... is wait till you are hungry, say number 4 rather than 3... can you buy a nice breakfast bar or get a delicious breakfast shake... or something that you can consume easy which you enjoy... nothing diet based!! Then you can go out the classroom i.e. for a toilet break and then eat... or if you are in the classroom a shake... which will seem like a drink. This way you will still be listening to your body and eating what you want. Remember you can chew a bar or a small sandwich.. and because you are eating slowly, you can continue to work but still eat. Give it a go... hopefully your body will adjust and you will find that you will be hungry at lunchtimes so that you can have a more filling meal to take you through until the next time you feel hungry... this is a difficult one and I will speak to some of the girls that I doing the diet too.

But thanks for coming on here, and welcome.

I am enjoying the system so much that I am so inspired its gonna work.

I am doing Paul's journal also and every evening I fill it in.

Ginger Just another point don't review what you are eating as you may go back to your old ways... remember no cal counting, no checking the food you eat... just eat when you are hungry etc....

no, i was just interested in hwat I had eaten, as it was the first day, dont worry I dont intend keeping track every day - I weas just aware that I thought I had eaten a lot !

and thanks for tips on breakfast, I had a small bowl of cereal at 7 this morning and am only just hungry now so I think I might have to do that everyday as I dont get a break until nearly eleven and I am not allowed to leave the classroom apart fropm this or eat in the classroom unfortunatly. The other option might be to bring a cereal bar and banana to work and eat them when I get here as I am setting up computers (I would probably be hungry by then) Matter of trial and error I guess when you have set times when you can actually eat

ooh and this will probably sound really silly but I couldnt sleep last night because I was so excited about the day LOL, knowing that I had eaten a sensible amount (ie what my body needed) and that I hadnt had to eat any diet food or count anything. I had strawberries and cream and corned beef yesterday and they were so delicious that I felt guilty for a bit as on ww etc you would stay away from certain foods.

also last night when dh was asking if i wanted snacks etc I found the word no coming out of mouth almost before I had time to think, must be my subconscious talking!

Your right... I think you need to sign up for the forum... hummm I may do it in a couple of months. Look don't worry follow the techniques... and you will lose weight.

Can I ask is it only in the mornings you worry about eating i.e. you feel hungry or is it most of your days when you are hungry but you cannot eat as you are in a classroom?

Thanks Cindy - I will have a look

I'd only just moved on from Cambridge Diet to a calorie counting diet on Monday, so am unsure if / when I'll start this - one thing I've tried immediately though is eating slow - putting my fork down between mouthfuls and it has amazed me how much difference that has made, even in 24 hours

If nothing else, I shall persist with the slower eating

At work at the mo - I have the CD so will put that on my ipod at the weekend and have a listen. I've only read the book so far, so am not quite as into it as you, but hopefully that will come

Jools it is amazing. I have not thought about food since Saturday and I know that the weight will come off. Its easy, I eat when I am truly hungry and then eat what I want ... but ensure I eat my food consiously.. its flipping amazing.... simple and so easy! I am doing his journal so cannot weigh myself until two weeks time. Even if I lose 4lbs I will be happy, as I know then that I can continue this for the rest of my life.

hi again

well this morning I woke up hungry, so no problem with breakfast, I think I'll just see how it goes each day if i am not hungry first thing i'll just take something with me to eat before classes start.

its really just the first thing eatin ghtats the problem as although i might get hungry at 11.30 I can easily wait until 12 for lunch break.

Ginger I have started to sip on water.. .when I get a tiny pang of hunger I sip some water and normally it goes away... I have only started to eat when I can feel the hunger getting stronger (not sure if you understand what I mean). So sipping water may keep the hunger at bay until you can feast!

Well word has got around work that I have been brainwashed.. but you know what I don't care. This is going to work... it is soooo easy and I feel great. I went for an early walk and I just wanted to get it out of the way but also I couldn't wait!! now that is amazing for me!!

It only seems like it will be both of us on here... I am hoping we will get some company soon. Will everyone on diets would wake up and smell the coffee eh?

lol i know what you mean, it feels like freedom after all these years of dieting. I dont have a problem waiting to eat as I suppose I ma used to it after years of teaching - it was really just the routine of breakfast that was worrying me because it felt wrong to eat when i wasnt hungry - lol seems i too have been branwashed.

Whats so fanatsic about this is that a group of aus are going fro cream teas on saturday and I wont feel guilty at all, I will just enjoy as much as I want to eat and I bet it will be yummy.

Wierd too that this is the week before my TOTM and I feel totally different to normal, no cravings (yet) no impulse to eat either.

How much are you hoping to lose? I am aiming for a stone evnutally but will be happy with each and every pound as and when it happens.

C1NDY · 12/06/2009 11:01

ginger I have a little bit more than you to lose... I weighed myself and I am 14 stone 11 lbs... I am currently on my AF (period) and have had no cravings what so ever! I will be ttc soon but am hoping this way of eating will stay with me, so that I don't pile the weight on should I get pg. If I can lose two stones I will be happy as I will start looking like my normal self. I was for a while always two stone heavy!! but it will be nice to get down to 10 stones. ... I have long to go but it took me a while to get to where I am today and I know in say a couple of months I will be nearer to where I want to be. Losing the weight is not going to be problem at all now and keeping it off - isn't it wonderful.

Do let me know how you get on... i.e. if you weigh yourself - I am weighing myself every two weeks, so I will let you know how I am getting on. I am already into a comfortable size 16!!

Cindy and Gingernutlover - I reckon this is day 3 for me of eating normally but chewing slowly / putting my fork down between mouthfuls and it does seem to be very effective.

I didn't even calorie count yesterday !! Today, I feel thinner - my skirt is definitely looser. I have a theory that my body has decided to let go of all the fat it was hoarding while I was dieting

I'm not sure how far I will go with this, as I can't quite bring myself to eat anything I want when I still feel I need to lose 2.5 stone, but I definitely think there is something in this method in terms of weight maintenance. I am unsure how this method actually allows you to lose weight though

Will be reading more / listening to the CD / looking at that YouTube link at the weekend - and will also probably weight myself tomorrow

I will keep in touch anyway

Jools Its a wonderful system... you can just let go and not worry as the weight will come off. I will let you know how I get on in two weeks time. Its lovely not to think that I am on a diet or even to obsess about food. But understand it takes a lot to change a habbit of a lifetime.... but Jools it will work forever, just trust the system.

Disenchanted we are talking about the Paul McKenna system. I and ginger are doing the system, are you using it?

ah ought to say I used a downloadable hypnosis session by another hypnotist, not paul mckenna. But the message is the same and the system the same just eat when you are hungry, stop when you are full and enjoy your food properly. Don't suppose it matters really.

I love the fact that I can have a takeaway tonight with no guilt whatsoever - because I do not intend to eat more than I need. I have started to realise food doesn't taste so nice when I am not hungry, the enjoyment has gone.

Jools I hope you do this, you will be amazed. So happy reading, listening over this weekend. Just think being able to not worry what you are putting in your mouth as long as you are hungry.

ginger concept is the same, so no problem. I can't wait to weigh myself next Sunday.
Have a great weekend and enjoy your cream tea this weekend.
