Has this happened to anyone else?

Recently joined Weight Watchers and after the first week was delighted to have lost 4lbs, however, when I went back the next week having done exactly the same as previously was told I had put on half a pound!! Leader was at pains to explain my body was just adjusting to the new diet, but as my friend had lost in both weeks I felt really depressed. Has this happened to anyone else?

You need to up your exercise. It's a bummer isn't it?

That's what's annoying - been exercising more than I have done in the last 20 odd years!! She also said I would wee a lot and boy was she right!!! Why is that?!!!

Bomper - the weeing is something to do with a chemical reaction in your body when it forst starts breaking down fat. A by-product of this is water. Sorry - can't be more technical than that!!

Look at it this way, 3.5lbs in two weeks is excellent.

Or, check these things:

Are you weighing and measuring everything you eat?
Are you exercising?
Are you using your points wisely?
Are you getting variety in your diet?
Are you drinking lots of water and having 5-a-day?
Are you cutting down on saturated fat and alcohol?

I would say yes to most of those apart from using my points wisely and cutting down on alcohol!!

Oh, and I used to be a Leader and NOTHING would surprise me. If you have been exercising a lot this week, it will take a week to show in the weight loss.

Give it another good week and I guarantee the weight will come off.

Also, the week before a period can make things slow down, but the body sorts that out the week that you have your period.

Using points wisely is the most important thing.

You could use your points on 3 Mars Bars a day, but that would not give you variety and you would be starving. Make sure that you choose things low in points and eat a lot of them. Make no-point soup or vegetable curry to eat if you get really hungry.

Thanks Dior, I must say I have had a few 'bad' days this week, where I felt really fed up and hungry and just wished I had never started the bloody thing!! But I know it will be worthwhile in the end!!

Don't worry Bumper you may just be retaining some water. If your period is about to start this could explain why you have not lost weight. The week befor my period i gain about 5 pounds of water weight which eventually disappears after my period.
