Hi guys - after losing 3.5 stone for my wedding on Slmming World last year - I have had a bit of creep.. Now 5 weeks gone and think - ahh I should have started the diet before (last Saturday's excuse was that I was PG) I really liked the club idea but not sure if I would do SW again (due to cheating habits) What do people recommend - what club is best and who will let me diet with them? Thanks in advance.. PS some nausea but not enough to put me off food... ;-)

Hi Slappa ...
I am pretty sure that WW won't let you diet with them if you are pregnant ...
It isn't really a good idea to diet whilst PG to be honest ... (dieting won't harm the baby but YOU need to eat well .... for energy etc)
I am a lifetime member of weightwatchers and one the reasons I don't like being pregnant is the weight gain factor ... and boy, do I put on weight in pregnancy!!!! 4stone with DS ... 5 stone with DD
But, with watching my weight carefully after birth and going back to WW after stopping breastfeeding at 9 months I am now back at my goal weight of 9 and a half stone. DD is 14 months, so it hasn't been quick, but it has been slowly but surely coming off.
My advice would be to enjoy your pregnancy, don't diet, but eat and snack healthily ... plenty of time after the baby comes to lose weight again ...
HTH ... and congrats on your pregnancy

i think that SW will let you do it when PG, but WW won't. I'ld say don't calorie count, eat 3 meals a day and avoid junk food as much as is compatible with being PG and hormonal!

Congratulations on your pregnancy! I know you aren't keen on rejoining, but SW do make provision for pg ladies: there is a special book and extra healthy extras, I think. You just have to get your midwife to sign a form.

Hi, I'm currently doing SW and am 23 weeks pregnant with my 3rd I've so far lost 6lb in 4 weeks, it's been steady and to be honest I'm enjoying the healthy eating that I've now taken on board. The whole family are joining in - so that does help with not having to cook 2 different meals each meal time, if they have something that they really enjoy, I just switch it for something that meets my opted day (a healthy salad, or extra potatoes etc) We don't use much fat in our cooking and have cut down totally on cakes/biscuits and sweets - VERY hard with easter just been and gone!
As far as the Healthy Extras are concerned, you're not allowed any until you've had the baby and are breast feeding. At the moment, I'm eating MORE than I usually would (albeit fruit and veg!) I am so full at meal time. I just make sure that I make the most of my free foods on each day.
My midwife has been encouraging me along the way and pleased at the initial loss - the main thing at the end of the day is hopefully to maintain my weight and have a big weight loss in 20 weeks time! (I have BIG babies!)

Good luck with whatever plans you make..

Ok cool - I have found a SW club near by.. will contact the woman who runs it this weekend... EmBy - I am concerned that you are saying that there are no Healthy Extras! Are you sure? What is the position on milk?? Watch this thread - Chocolate may make baby happy - but extra weight not good for late pregnancy! (Does it feel different from being fat?? - former size 24!)
