This is the reason I went to the thread in the first place - Do any of you go for a few weeks maintaining then lose 3 or 4 pounds in a week? My weight loss isn't steady, I have good weeks then not so good weeks, wondered if it was just me???

Yes, I've definitely done that B&HB! When I joined SW I maintained for 3 weeks before losing 4lbs and the same thing has happened several times since. However I think it's more of a reflection of my eating habits than my metabolism--tend to eat a few more syns than I should, then have a week where I can eat less.

Maybe everyone's having a high-syns day! I'm not back at my group yet (going to try and go next week) & not really been food optimising for past 5 weeks due to illness, so I don't know what I weigh at the moment. I think when I go back I will ask for a fresh book, and make a new start just so I don't have to look at the dates and think, I was pregnant when I weighed that...

That's a really good idea about the book, Arabica. It's hard enough losing weight in the first place, without all the extra trouble you've had. I would imagine that a nice clean book would be a great spur! Then you can work towards a weight loss every week, and no maintains or (heaven forbid) gains!!! Good luck!!

Yes, cos before I got pg, I was only 1lb away from my Club 10 and only 1st 5lbs or so from target--I'd just got into my first pair of 12s in about 5 years! I'm very keen to get back into exercise too, but have to wait until dr says it's OK as I don't want more asthma thanks. I do actually really enjoy exercise for its own sake, it's not a chore I have to do to speed my weight loss along. It's the eating small portions I have a problem with.
How's your weight loss going? Have you got much to lose?

I started in january and have lost 10.5 lbs so far. I need to lose just over a stone more to get club 10. Then, i don't know!! My aim is to be a size 14, be more than happy with that!!, but i don't know what the relevant weight would be, IYSWIM!! I've already dropped a size in trousers i think, 'cos mine are too big now!!

That's a good weight loss since January. It may well start to get a bit slower now but don't be disheartened. I write a lot of slimming success stories and the ones who get to target seem very good at putting any occasional lapses behind them and not letting them contibue into diet-bsuting binges.

I do have "bad" Days, but just get on with it the next day!! We seem to have been to Pizza Hut rather a lot lately!! It's when DH is home that it all seems to go wrong!! I'm really good at sticking to it during the week!!

Yeah that is difficult, isn't it? We go for pizza a lot too but luckily I'm not that keen on it so I have minestrone soup or a pasta dish and salad.

I'm totally off the rails. haven't been for 4 weeks now since my hols. Am going to rejoin next Monday as will be cheaper than paying back fees. Have put about 7lbs on...if not more

Just started back on SW regime as of Monday. Gave up smoking in November and half a stone has crept back on but needed to lose 2 to start with . Anyway, have lost 3lbs already, so feeling chuffed, but wondered whether could enlist some help as am going by old books as my nearby class no longer exists...

Mullerlite yoghurts. Still free?

Waitrose extra lean sausages. Still about 1 sin?

How many of you lot eat really boring diet food so that you can use your sins on proper sins and how many of you just try and use sins in your meals? Asking because think I will take the latter route - as figure that if I make healthy, nice food I won't want to sin as much as the other way around.

Butternut squash - still free? (Pretend mash.)

Thanks xx

Just posted on the old thread - der!! Just spotted the new one!! Never mind copied over my post.

Looks like I'm back on track girls. Have had three whole days of following the diet exactly as I should. Haven't even used all my syns up on all three days which is fantastic for me. Just have to fight through the weekend as that's normally tricky for me but I think I can do it. Fingers crossed for a good weight loss on Monday night. Making lots of the recipies from the green recipie book - potato and leek soup last night and that was DELICIOUS and we had chilli risotto tonight which was really nice too.

I was a member about three years ago - lost a load of weight but still need to shift more. Online version seems really expensive for what you get. Things haven't changed have they - still red or green plus healthy extras plus a few sins? Anyway, even if they had changed, it worked for me last time - the only thing that might be a bit out of date is my sins encyclopedia book thing.

Hi. Got room for a little one (well technically not so little but I will be ! I joined SW in January and am having a phenomenal weight loss so far, having reached my one and a half stone award tonight. I know it works as I've done it twice before, but always made the mistake of thinking I could go it alone, and after a while it just creeps back on so I'm in it for the long haul now. Anyway, just wanted to say hi, and wish everyone else good luck.

Maramalde Sun, love your name...it sounds like it should be syn-free marmalade as you are doing so amazingly well. Do you have much to lose?

Willow, there have been some changes since you were last a member but you'll still lose weight by following the old plan. They made some changes in 2004, removing some free convenience foods, and giving you 4 healthy options a day (2 calcium and 2 fibre) and now there is a 2005 version which lets you have red and green options on the same day!!!!! The rules are a bit complicated to go into on here, though, you need to have a look at someone's books. Good luck!

Hi Marmaladesun and welcome. I too have been here twice before and thought I could go it alone. The support on here is great though and I personally get as much out of here as I do at class some weeks. Your weight loss so far has been great - keep it up

Hi everyone, and thanks for the welcome Decaf, ideally I want to lose another 4 stone, so yes it's a lot to lose and I know it will slow down but it's given me such a boost to start in this way. Having said that I may lose another 2 stone and decide that I'm happy at that weight so who knows? I have a bit of an advantage I think in that I'm still breastfeeding; I figure that's helping too. Does anyone else bring their kids to SW?

Willow...just looked up the syns of those sausages for you and they're 2 syns on red, and 4.5 on green, each. HTH

Willow2 · 25/02/2005 12:29

Hiya, thanks for that - would you mind checking if that is per sausage cos i think that's what my old sin book says for 100g which is almost 2 sausages. (Makes all the difference!)
