I need to lose a few pounds in an emergency.......how best?

I'm not overweight but I could do with trimming up as all my clothes are tight.

I was eating healthily in the Spring and lost a few pounds, everything felt better. Over the summer, I stopped walking the school run, enjoyed our holiday, and now I'm feeling all heavy again.

I'm walking and I've cut back on carbs. Drinking loads of water, smoothies and homemade soup, not too much crap.

Problem is, i have a Ball to go to in just over two weeks and there is no way that all my healthy eating is going to make much of a difference in time. Has anyone done these daft "eating two bowls of cereal and a normal tea" things? With good effect? (I never have before)

I know if I lose then I'll put it on again but I thought it might just get me where I need to be and then kick start me.............

Whats the opinion on crashing?

Cut out all carbs, as in, no more than 2 cupfuls of veg per day just eat lean meat, eggs & lots of water. No fruit, nothing with any carbs!

Plus loads of water, 2-4litres per day and it should drop off. I lost a stone in 2 weeks.

Ewe, that's very impressive.

When/if you starting eating carbs it will go back on, if you gradually increase and keep carb intake low then you can maintain. It's basically Atkins/South Beach diet.

Fruit and veg are good foods - just not when you're no/low carbing!

FG I did the cereal diet, it does work, I even managed wine too

My body hates carbs I on the other hand love them. When I stop eating them the weight drops off me, it's just not easy long term!

Holland and Barrett sell a diet tea that is a mild laxative. Not advisable long term, but I used it prior to my wedding and it worked-and the effects were quite gentle-no violent squits or anything-just a purge..

Half a stone in a week, well done, no carbs but what was a typical days intake, and where's frumpy, nipped out for a Big Mac I reckon!

tbh I piled on the weight in France on hols (croissants, wine, bread ) and knew it wouldn't take too much to shift it, so cut back the wine and carbs, no snacking and its gone, but the cereal diet is good too. I also quite like the wine and nuts diet where I substitute my evening meal for a couple of glasses of wine and a bowl of cashews I reckon FG is on the fishfinger sarnies

Sausage roll and fruit shoot before the diet starts I reckon!

dp has done the cereal diet and it did work.

Can you get down the gym? I'm starting again on monday - put on 6lbs on hol. With serious exercise I can burn 1000 calories about 3 times a week and will lose probably about 5lbs in the first week then slow down to about 2lbs a week.

Kelly, I know it seems possible with the DTs in nursery 3 days......but I don't know when I'd fit in in. Cooking, cleaning, granny sorting, shopping.......

I am needing to do something desperately. I have less than two weeks!!!! F

Some hideous person (Mars ) suggested no alcohol at all. Would that make a big difference?
