Other thread too big.

Right, having lost not one single ounce over the last 4 weeks due to over-consumption of alcohol, I am starting again. I promised you all a new thread, so here it is.

Remeber:

Exercise EVERY DAY. walking, cycling, running, swimming - whatever - JUST MOVE YOUR HARRIS!

MEASUREMENTS can say more than weight. I have lost nothing, but mu clothes are actually looser due to toning up.

Are we up for another challenge for September?

I am giving up booze until the last weekend of September as I drank too much in July and August - so I am going to go for the 7lbs in a month again.

Well done to those who have managed to lose a bit last month!

I do solemnly swear to annoy our leader on facebook if she doesn't come on (also can grass her up if she has a hangover on her status)

I promise to drink no more than twice a week and to exercise every day again.

Yours,
VS

ooh, ok, i'll try.
have managed to stop biting my nails recently, tho im not sure thats going to make much difference to calorie intake
i dont think i can give up wine every evening tho. (this in itelf is filed away for thinking About another day...) but i could well add some exercise into my daily routine (laughs at self and pretense of there being a 'routine')
i did manage to exercise every day for 2 whole days last time i joined you, so thats something, eh?
ive worn my spanx a bit more often, that helps a little... lol

right, so a challenge for sept it is. should weigh and measure really for comparison... [ponders if can be arsed]

SheikYerbouti · 30/08/2008 14:39

I went swimming this morning.

VS, please do kick me up the arse

Smartarse - welcome back. Dobn;t worry aboyut your abortive attempt last time - that's why were are starting again this time - because of mine

Can I join in? I've piled on the weight since my holiday, and I've been eating really badly and drinking far too much!

I'm 49 today, and feeling every year of it.

I'm giving up the booze for September too - although I have a MN meet up on 12 so might allow myself a night off for that

VictorianSqualor · 30/08/2008 14:45

Wilf, put it this way, we all eat shite and drink alcohol, we just try to exercise too

On our last thread I lost inches (need to remeasure actually) and 2lbs a week (cept this lazy no exercise week) and drank on average of ooooo, 4/5X a week

Report
SheikYerbouti · 30/08/2008 14:45

Well, obv the eating cake all day and sitting on one's derrière sort of slack wouldn't be conducive to any kid of loss of poundage

BUT
We do not frown on slip ups (even if the slip up lasts 4 weeks, like the last one I had)

righto [bolstered]
will go and drink water right this minute...
and do 10 mins exercise. can we stick with 10 for now? i think 10 daily i can start with... 15 i will prob duck out of...

wilf, hell honey, with me as a yardstick you can practically drink/gorge/sleep your way through and still be welcomed

I suggest 10 mins a day is a good start. Go out in the evenings for a walk round block if you have to. Make it brisk!

Right I am sick of counting calories, I have done it for years and I have reached my plateau at the moment, I always get down to this weight relatively easily (still too bloody high though)but never manage to get any lower So I am borrowing a friends slimming world book and I am going to try these red and green days and once the boys are back at nursery I plan to use my two free mornings to do a class at the local leisure centre then back home for 40-60 mins on the cross trainer. On top of that I hope to be able to fit in two evening on the XT aswell which will give me four good sessions a week. If that doesn't work I am a lost cause

Piffle · 30/08/2008 20:22

well done on the great losses
Lisa trying to maintain the plateau weight for two weeks then go again for loss?
I lost 2lbs this week
Kicked booze 4 nights
Very careful with food
Walking with ds2 2 hrs a day
Davina 30mins 3xweek
Plusmore active doing gardening etc
Am aiming for 60kgs which I have been since having ds2 17mths ago but due to severe post natal spd was barely able to walk from 4mths post birth
So put 4kgs on over a year.
Tend to relax a bit over weekends but by killing the Friday night curry have managed to lose a teensy bit this far!
Am ready to have my lazy arse kicked if impetus stalls.
Am enquiring about riding lessons too!

WilfSell · 30/08/2008 20:28

OK. Can I please join? I will commit to getting off my lardy arse (heh heh, will be easier with imminent school run to do) as long as I can still stuff my face a little.

I even bought the reliving 1995 dance choons CD this weekend in anticipation of reviving my iPod walking tunes.

Will measure. Have given up on scales as I have smashed them to tiny tiny pieces because they lie to me.

Ooh ome new recruits

Wilf I was reading your sleep thread this mornng, I can sympathise with you as I have a 14 month old, he doesn't wake as much as yours but I am still not getting enough sleep. I have found stuffing him with as much food as possible in the day helps a bit. Anyway, my new-thread resolution is to try and go to bed earlier. I've read that lack of sleep can hamper weight loss.

Scorpio congratulations, I think you get the Slimmer of the Thread award

Report
Hobnobfanatic · 31/08/2008 10:12

Hear hear for Scorpio as Slimmer of the Thread!

I'd LOVE to lose 9lbs this month - but, realistically, I'm aiming for 5-7lb.

I like the sound of Sputnik's New Thread Resolution of going to bed earlier - I think I'll try that for Sept.

And with my LO starting school next week (Sob), I can get my backside to the gym once a week and back to Pilates again.

SheikYerbouti · 31/08/2008 10:34

More sleep vg. I thinik one of the reasons why my weight has crept up is because since I went back to work a year ago, I have been working odd hours, so I have been having less sleep than I need.

Have been swimming again this morn, and I have a very energetic bout of cleaning to start (great!! )

My house is a tip.

Remeber: MOVE YOUR POSTERIOR as much as poos

Drink some water NOW.

I drank way to much last night.
I'm still drunk.
This is not good for someone who is supposed to be on a diet.

Report
WilfSell · 31/08/2008 11:18

sputnik, yeah... tiredness doesn't help does it because cooking healthy food is such a faff when you fall asleep into it.

Am very scared of all the bouti shakers who have been out and exercising already. We have just about managed 2 cups of tea, one child out to play, the other to a party, the third now woken after his morning nap and now chugging cheerios...

Neither me or the baby are dressed. Ho hum. I can see this is going to be a big challenge...

Ha, I've had two slices o toast and butter, then two more slices of toast and butter and about a litre of dandelion and burdock.
I smell like a brewery and DP's parents will be here soon.
Exercise?!?!?!LOL.
