If you exercise loads and cut down on fat, cut down on portion size, drink loads of water, you should be able to do another 7 lbs. Or just not eat at all, that should do it! Sorry I am in same position, I have four weeks till holiday too and cannot be bothered, but I know when I get my bikini on I will regret it.

Even though i think its a bit crazy in the long term, cutting out carbs doesn't half work! Fruit and yoghurt for breakfast, Greek salad for lunch, fish/chicken and veg for dinner. No bread, chips, jacket potatoes or pasta. Or Alcohol. Boring boring BOOOOORRRRING! But you will drop the weight v quickly, so its worth it!

Might try that myself! Isn't it hard to diet with kids in the house though, I can't make them go without treats etc. We eat quite healthily to be honest and most of our meals are made from scratch, but it is difficult serving up potatoes in any form and not having any myself!

I've been doing the Davina M exercise videos and have been well impressed with the results - i'm not a weightwatcher (too depressing) but I'm looking lots more toned and it is quite fun -especialy the boxing ones! Def more energy too. Oh teh zeal of the converted!!

it is quite full on, but then - no one got slim from doing finger exercises!! And the second and third times, once you know the routines, it gets easier. You know when it s going to end!!

Well looking at Davina on Big Brother it definately seems to be working for her. She looks great and has had quite a few kids now, well she always seemed to be pregnant on BB in the past. I would love a stomach like that, but it takes dedication.

Shannaratiger: How does the Paul McKenna book work? Is it all mind over matter etc.

I would just be happy that my bum actually fits into my bikin bottom without hanging out each side, looks gross, may have to go and buy bigger bikini bottom instead!

i'm afraid putting me in a bikini wld be a crime against humanity - cries of oh do put it away love echoing across the beach...

The Idiot Proof Diet is the answer
but it is a Way of Eating for life, you will not be chowing down on potatoes or white bread or pasta or pastry anny time soon, and then only once a fortnight as a huge treat as those things are The Devil's Work except when taken judiciously and seldom. So think on.

I lost 13lbs in a month. Could have done more if I'd upped the exercise.

However, whilst on holiday, I do always try to remind myself that I will:

A. Never see these people again.

B. Not have to look at holiday photo's if I don't want to.

C. I am not 21 anymore (far from it)and will never ever have a body like Elle McPherson no matter how hard I try.

To make matters worse I have noticed in the last few days that I have started to get "old lady's feet"

what about hypnosis? Get them to make you believe you've lost the weight and you'll have the confidence to swan around the pool/beach

What are old lady's feet then?

Oh no, not something else to worry about! My feet have always looked weird (kind of blue and lumpy - mmm attractive!!) so maybe it can't get worse.

Lot to be said for just not caring!!

Another vote for Davina and cutting out carbs short term. I've got Davina's latest one and it's hardcore! I reckon you could definitely lose a stone in a month doing that AND healthy eating.

Slim fast - dull and only short term but I dropped about 9lb in 2 weeks.

Suzywong, that Idiot Proof diet looks quite good! I looked on eBay and they have loads of the book and cookbook for sale too quite cheaply. I am bidding on a couple! Thanks for that.

Poppycake: Old lady's feet are IMO, veiny, and little blue veins on the side of your feet, they also now look a little wrinkly instead of smooth, they have broken veins running up the inside of the foot. Sorry for any old ladies out there. Also years ago I remember looking at a colleagues feet, she was about 20 years older than me, and thinking I don't want feet like that. Lo and behold, you turn your back and next minute you have old lady's feet!

Sim43: Only borrowed Paul Mackenna from the library and it had to go back today. I am going to buy it though as the CD adn rules sound really good:
I think they're only eat when your hungry. stop when you're full. Concentrate on what you are eating adn something else i can't remember

Report
Sim43 · 14/07/2008 20:11

Sounds interesting Shannaratigerm I might look into that myself. The stop when you are full bit is true they say you should always leave the table feeling you could eat a bit more. Trouble is if you do you end up starving later. Can't stand being hungry in bed, I have to lie on my stomach to take the hunger pangs away.

Report
Shannaratiger · 14/07/2008 21:43

Sim43 he also says thouhg always listen to your body and if you are hungry eat. After a while your brain only says you're hungry if you really are physicaly (not emotionaly) hungry.
