Just bumping this above the older thread.

I've lost 2 lbs this week (third time I've posted this )

And I've just realised it was 7 and a half pounds, not just 7. Half a pound not much I know but it all matters to me! I have decided that I am going to try and aim to loose just over 3lbs a week to get within a stone of my target weight for my brothers wedding in about eight weeks time. Gives me something to aim for and will hopefully motivate me. Do you think that is reasonable?
Also, I still don't know what LL stands for
Well done Puff and Evesmama!

Well, after having a bad few days last week, when I weighed on saturday I discovered that I had put on 3lbs. I was a bit dissapointed, but expected it. Anyhow, I have been back on plan with a vengeance since Sunday so hopefully I will have a decent loss. I am going away in a week to stay with a fellow mumsnetter, and she is also wanting to try and lose weight so I won't be pigging out there. Just seems to take forever for weigh in to come nad then when it is the day before I get butterflies and usually end up with the runs .

I am going to see Little Britain in December and would like to get most of my weight off for then as its the only time we get away from the kids all year and try and make it special.

1st week -10lbs
2nd week -3lbs
3rd week +3lbs

Flossam · 01/02/2005 12:03

-10lbs in the first week is fantastic though BdV!! Maybe it was a bit too much and your body tried to reajust and did starvation mode type thingy? Still, 10lbs in 3 weeks is still a very good track record. Well done, keep it up!

Flossam, thanks v much, I'm certainly not starving myself though, dh is a great support and couldn't believe how much I had for dinner last night, I told him the pointage of different food I had on my plate and just explained that i bulked it out with free foods like cauli, carrots and broccoli. Like he says, if I can eat that much and still have treats there is no reason why I can't do it.

Hurrah - a new thread, no more scrolling up and down for ages. I'm feeling a little like an old-timer because I remember the first thread, although if I'm still here when we get to the 50th thread then I really will feel like an old-timer.

BubblesdV - I wouldn't worry too much about a gain if I were you, I always try to consider a rolling 4 week period which I think is a much more accurate guage as so many factors can affect your weight on any one day.

Well done Flossam - that's a good loss. 3 lbs is quite a lot to lose every single week. Are you the kind of person who gets terribly discouraged and gives up when she doesn't meet her targets, or the type who trys harder?

Evesmama · 01/02/2005 15:18

and i know it cheeky to get weighed constantly, but because i had such a good(sparse) day yesterday, i got weighed again this morning and had lost another pound!!!!!!!
maybe ive actually found a tab that curbs my glutonous eating?

monkeygirl · 01/02/2005 15:27

EM - Tabs - have I missed something somewhere?? Well done on another pound but stop jumping on those scales!! (says someone who is trying to stop herself doing it every day ). Week has gone well thanks, apart from unhappy teething (I hope) baby today, which usually makes me run to the treats cupboard for comfort but luckily the cupboard is bare and I haven't had time to shop yet.

Bubbles - 10lbs is excellent and the month isn't up yet - agree with Bran (although don't practice what I preach!) and, well I'm sure you know, it's all about peaks, troughs and plateaus. That's why we're here for the long-haul I guess.

And thanks for the new thread - my computer is much happier.

Oh Em - so sorry . No experience I'm afraid but hope it is soon for you - and you still gotta keep off those scales!! O yeah, forgot to mention poor you about sinusitus - used to get that occasionally and it is miserable but I still never lost my appetite!!

Report
Evesmama · 01/02/2005 15:37

i know i should keep of them and i could say i would..but i probably wont
must be the tabs then?, have just took some strong co codamol for the pain and apprently, they might nock me out???

Report
monkeygirl · 01/02/2005 15:40

Presume they're full of codeine in which case you'll be out for the count soon! Don't be going the other way now and not eat anything though [stern mother emoticon] - you need your strength!

Report
Evesmama · 01/02/2005 15:43

i dont plan to not eat anything and i keep saying in a jokey voice, well it wont do me any harm, it'll take a while for me to starve..but i Do know that i need food to keep going, just seems my body doesnt want it at moment?
this happend on last tabs, but only lasted 2 days and felt really sick, but just not hungry this time????

Report
monkeygirl · 01/02/2005 15:48

Well I can't be too critical really cos I'm sure if I ever lost my appetite I would make the most of it but it has only happened to me once when I had the flu about 4 years ago - yes it is sad that I can remember those few days exactly! Well you'll just have to check in tomorrow so that we can all keep our eye on you then and get a good kick up the jacksy if needed .

I have had alot of people mentioning weighing once a month and totally agree with their being different points of the day etc that can affect gain or loss.

I might considered weighing once a month after this saturday, but, I am a member of weightwatchers online and they request an update every week of weight loss.

Report
Evesmama · 01/02/2005 16:01

i normally get weighed once an hour..no..every day

I'm with WW (I go to meetings) so I weigh-in once a week too, I just meant that you shouldn't get too hung up on one particular week, and if you feel as though you're doing badly usually the 4 week rolling total will tell a different story.

hi all!! well done an all the losses.
flossam-- that is brill!!
woodpops--- sorry it's going so hard at mo. I do think it's a novelty thing at the mo tho. You have had so long without food so you are bound to pick now you are allowed. with regards to WW, are you bellow the minmum number for your height? if not could you not go and say you wanted to loose more, then you will reach goal and then you could go as a gold member. Or could you join online instead. If all else fails you can see how much points you are meant to eat and then get the book that has pointed shopping stuff and follow it at home.

Bubbles--- you have done ever so well, please dont be disheartened by this slight set back. Just use it a learning curve for next month. I like the suggestion someone made on your other post, to save some calories for your totm.

EM--- hope you start feeling better soon.

Bran--- hi!!

I am so sick still but that hasn't stopped me scoffin sausage rolls!!
I have got cravings for red apples tho so hopefully that ballances things out..... help is needed tho as I keep eating sweets!!! grrrrrr after cutting them out for so long too.
