Has anyone done Lighter Life?

What did you think of it? How much did it really cost, and was the counselling helpful?

And the biggest question - did you notice a smell? Someone at work is doing it, and since she went ketotic, there is an awful smell. It really puts me off.

Oh and skin - if you lost weight quickly, did you get baggy skin? Ive already got the jelly belly from hell, it actually puts me off losing weight in case I end up with a huge overhang.

(Im starting to wonder if I should have name-changed for this, but what the hell!)

I did it last year, for 5 months rigidly and lost 5 stones. carried on with the management till xmas, now take a shake a few morning for breakfast.

If there was a smell I never noticed an no-one else mentioned it. In fact the girls that I did it with, we all formed a great relationship, and it was never brought up by them either. Your breath smells, I used freshner a lot and had them planked everywhere. No saggy skin either, but I started exercising a lot which must have helped.

The real cost was the weekly cost, with some drink powder to put into water, but that was once amonth. Only other cost was buying sparkling water which I enjoyed having at night.

Ask away

Sounds like it really worked for you! You did well to stick it out for 5 months.

Do you feel OK eating normal food now? Thing is, I lost weight well on WW, but as soon as I reached my goal, I started to overeat again, sort of catching up on the things I hadnt been eating before. Not a very healthy way to do things!

I'd done ww, sw etc as well, but I knew I had to do something so my head was ready for this. The cost made me not cheat- even manged my summer holidays, nights out, hen night without eating. when the size 12 jeans fitted i knew it was worth it!
Now I eatmore or less the same as the family, but I exercise a lot more, I rarely drink, and mostly stick to water during the day- not gone back to the old diet coke. Now drink black coffee, no tea. I have put on a small amount since I stopped and intend to do a small catch up over the next 2 weeks when we're off.
I am not one of those maniac dieters- I want to enjoy things. My friends and I (as they are now) from LL meet up every month- for a meal of course- and ensure that everything's well. Now the drink of choice is champagne(darling what else!)I still take the car and stick to fizzy water!

I did the Cambridge diet which is basically the same as LL without the counselling and half the price.I lost 4 stone in 3 months and also never noticed any bad breath.I found the diet itself very easy to follow as I didn't have to think about food, but I then got pg with ds2 and put on 5 stone. He is now nearly a year old and I'm finding it impossible to stick to it again.
You need a huge amount of will power with LL/CD and it is very unsociable, not being able to eat. Most of the people I know who have done the diet lost lots of weight very quickly(as I did),but have put it all back on plus a little bit more(as I have). However I do know 2 people who have managed to keep it off.
Best of luck if you decide to do the diet-I joined Slimming World 3 weeks ago and am finding that very easy to stick to.
