I'm 142 pounds and 5ft, I can no longer fit in to some of my clothes already, so I need to loose weight ready for Christmas. I did a deficit calorie calcalator and it said that I need to eat 952 calories a day to loose 14 pounds in 2 months. I tend to have sedentary life style due to being a carer. I find it hard to get out and about because of my daughter.
That’s far too few and unsustainable. What calculator did you use? I’ve just put your figures into a tdee calculator, which gives you the calories to aim for to remain exactly the same, you then minus by 20% to get the calories to reduce weight, a more manageable calorie target is 1,234 (sorry, I did have to put an age in, I just put 30 as that’s loads younger than me!)
I am very sedentary due to physical limitations and have lost 3 stone (Longer time obvs) just by weighing and logging everything I eat in My Fitness Pal. 14 pounds is doable, it’s 9 weeks until Christmas. You might lose more than 2llbs the first Few weeks but only 1llb the 3rd but you will get there.
Why the rush to lose it all by Christmas? That calorie count is low and may make you feel miserable.
It would be more sensible to lose it a bit more slowly, most reputable sources say 1,200 is the bare minimum an adult woman should go down to. More likely to be sustainable, too, something you can actually stick to.

I’m doing the Stillman diet - it’s not a lifestyle but it does boast super fast weight loss - up to 12 pounds in a week. Let me know if you are interested. It’s literally lean protein, as you want but not much more. I did some years back and lost 50lb and it stayed off for years.
