Vanity pounds to lose - any takers?

PrincessConsuelaBH · 12/10/2020 21:09

So I have approx. 15lbs to lose to get back to my comfortable weight and for my clothes to fit! Thanks to lockdown and a toddler that still doesn't sleep meaning I rely on sugar to get me through the day...

I'm aiming to break it up into 3 5lb mini goals so I don't feel like it's unmanageable before I ever start Grin

Nothing faddy, just planning to make better choices with my food, plan more, and move more too. I have some short-ish term goals that I'm hoping will be enough motivation for me to shift the weight 👶🏻

Anyone want to join? I'd be happy to keep a list going (if there's not too many of us!) to record our weights and losses if anyone would want that too.

Ooh yes please. I would like to lose about another stone before my wedding but definitely need to break this into smaller chunks otherwise I panic!

I'm trying to only weigh myself once a week. Today I weighed in at 9 stone 8.4 (my lowest for a while!) - I would like to reach 9 stone 5 by the start of November.

Ultimately I'd like to be about 8 stone 5 by June!

@BrimfulOfBaba glad I've got someone to join! Smile I'll try and get weighed tomorrow, if not it will be Wednesday! But I'll report back when I know my definite starting weight.

I'd ideally like to get down to about 9 stone 4 and see how I feel from there - right now I'm the heaviest I've ever been while not pregnant.

I'll probably comment fairly regularly re my diet and any exercise I do, I need to write it down to keep myself accountable Grin feel free to do the same!

Hello

I would love to join too!
I weigh 12.4 and would love to be back at 11stone... I was good at the beginning of lockdown and actually managed to lose weight but its all crept back!

I would love the join!
I’m in NZ and refer to weight in kgs but I’m post baby #3 and have at least 10kg/1.5 stone to lose!
I’ve just started using my fitness pal to get my eating back on track and get an idea of just how much I’ve been consuming 😳 Would be great to do weekly weigh ins and keep each other accountable.

@MBalloch and @momo3w (congrats on the baby!) welcome! Grin

So good that there'll be a few of us to keep us spurred on Smile

I hope you're all feeling positive this morning? I'm off work today and tomorrow which helps as I have plenty of time to prep food, and have no excuse not to fit a workout in of some description.

My plan is to have a weighed out portion of fruit and fibre for my breakfast, and a salad wrap with carrot sticks and tomatoes on the side. Will come back later and update.

I’d love to join. Xmas followed by lockdown and I can not get rid of the stone I need to. I’m 10st7 and 9st 7 would mean I could get back in my jeans. My decision to buy a whole new jogging bottom based wardrobe in March was NOT a good one ...

@PrincessConsuelaBH Thanks! Sounds like you’re off to a good start! Always helps to have the time to plan/prep.

The key for me is reducing portion sizes (I do not need to eat the same amount as my 6ft husband and growing 11 y/o 🤦🏻‍♀️) and not eating after dinner/boredom eating.

@HaggisBurger We’re in the same boat! It would be nice to wear some actual clothes and not activewear that I’m not active in and purely wear for comfort 😬

I'd like to join in, have about 3lb-7lb to lose. Had done well lost 12lb I gained during lockdown but gained 2lb back again as I've stopped paying attention so could do with some extra motivation

Me too! I want to lose 15lbs or so. It'll mean that I fit into my clothes again without looking like a sausage!

Me too! Having lost a lot of weight and then maintained I would like to lose 3kg which doesn't seem a lot but is proving harder than I thought. Started today at 54kg wanting to get to 51kg

I'm trying to create a deficit of about 500 calories most days - I've got a friend coming over tonight for a pizza takeaway. Really hoping I can stick to a deficit but will try to just enjoy a last hurrah seeing a friend (live in a tier 2 area!)

@BrimfulOfBaba good luck! And enjoy spending time with your friend Smile

Well breakfast was a portion of fruit and fibre with full fat milk.

Lunch was a wholemeal salad/cottage cheese wrap with carrot sticks, cherry tomatoes and a hard boiled egg. Drinking only water, no juice.

Lunch has left me feeling full and satisfied which was most surprising! Will be having prawn stir fry and egg noodles later for tea with DH (will have more of the stir fry and less of the noodles Grin)

Can I join??? I find it really hard to get support in real life because everyone says "oh you don't need to lose weight" but they don't realise that I carry it well and I'm over a stone heavier than this time last year!! Plus, none of my clothes fit 😩 So my target initially is to get down to 10 stone (that's about 6lb away) then hopefully 9 and a half stone 🤞🏻

Very similar amounts to me @Frustratedmummy79 - it’s annoyingly enough to make clothes not fit.

Just having a salad for lunch but a nice one with bacon bits and avocado 😊

@PrincessConsuelaBH cottage cheese is so underrated. So filling for the calories (and so much protein!)!

@Frustratedmummy79 really feel you there - so hard to find IRL support when people either think (or pretend, in my case) they know your body better than you!

I've just downloaded My Fitness Pal and inputted my food so far - shocker!!! I thought I'd done quite well, surprising how the calories add up - I've not even had a snack today. I think I can already see how my weight has crept up.
I've always been pretty happy with my body and my weight stayed fairly stable throughout my life but I've hit my 40s and have small ish children - recipe for weight disaster!!!

PrincessConsuelaBH · 13/10/2020 14:37

@BrimfulOfBaba totallly agree! I love cottage cheese I've just ate a chocolate mini roll I spotted in the fridge and now I'm mad at myself - falling off the wagon on the first day is shocking!

@Frustratedmummy79 I'm the same in that I think my diet is quite good overall but then when I start to honestly add up the calories I get a shock...

I’ve gone up a few pounds (2kg) recently due to birthdays and eating too much junk food. I’ll join you while they’re going again.

This morning I’ve been for a short run and swim. Salad for lunch with lots of lovely Greek leftovers and half an avocado. Dinner is going to be roast cauliflower with a curry stew thing with spinach, lentils and quinoa. Too many snacks are my downfall.

mamapants · 13/10/2020 17:14

OK well I have had Greek yogurt and blueberries for breakfast.
Beans on toast with cheese for lunch.
1 apple and 1 plum.
Having bolognese and spaghetti for dinner.
Might put it in my fitness pal see the damage. I don't think it should be far off the 1200 calories I was having when I was successfully losing weight.

Wow shows how good you can get at estimating if you do a lot of my fitness pal. It comes in at 1203 as long as I don't have any cheese (probably will though) and no snacks later!! When I had a blanket ban on eating after 6 I was much better.

I've just failed - had a small portion of risotto....and followed it up by standing next to the leftovers shovelling it in my mouth -aaaargh! I will not let another thing pass my lips today!
