Evening all!

Welcome to the lose 7lbs per month thread for spooky October! My second favourite time of the year! Big coats, snuggly scarves, pumpkins, ghosties and toffee apples!

Link to previous thread is here The September 7lb per month challenge! http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/4013012-the-september-7lb-per-month-challenge

I only lost 3lbs last month (booooooo) but have really upped the exercise in the last couple of days so hopeful I will start seeing proper losses again.

All are welcome, whatever programme or diet you are following. We just stick together and raise each other up which has worked so far and I've seen some amazing results from you lovely regulars :)

See you in the morning ready for first weigh in!!

CW: 11st 11lbs
TW: 11st

Good luck to everyone this month. I hope I do better in October cos it can't really get much worse Grin

I had a good September, and I'm really hoping for a good October.

I didn't have any chips for lunch yesterday, the whole family tucked into chips, burgers, chicken nuggets and cheese toasties at a cafe! I just thought I'd rather see a good number on the scales so I didn't join in.

If I can lose 4lb I'll be in the 9 stone bracket, and I'll be happy and relieved!

Thanks for starting this thread @cricketmum84. So I weighed in this morning and I am 74.1 kg or 11 st 9. I lost around 3 lb last month, with nearly all the weight loss taking place at the start of the month. I would honestly be happy with another loss of 3 lb. I am happy with how I look now and any further weight loss is just for health reasons, to bring me into the healthy BMI range. I fell off the diet wagon pretty bad a few times during the month so I am pleased that it hasn’t done any lasting damage. It’s also the week before my period so it may be that some more comes off when I start that.

Stats:
Starting weight: 92.4 kg/14 st 8
Current weight: 74.1 kg/ 11 st 9
Total lost: 18.3 kg/ 40.4 pounds

Pretty happy with my progress to be honest. It seems a lifetime ago that I started but it’s just over 6 months.

So, goal for this month is to lose around 3 lb. This will tip me over the 3 st lost mark. I keep looking at progress pics on Instagram of people who have lost 3 stone and you can really see the difference. It’s hard for me to tell the difference myself and I haven’t seen that many people IRL besides family so sometimes I wonder if I still look the same. But looking at others’ progress pics I realise I can’t do.

Getting my hair cut and coloured today too so that will boost my mood!

Morning all. Thank you @cricketmum84 for the new thread.

My stats are
SW- 12st 6
CW- 11st 1
TW- 9st

My goals for this month are to try for 7lbs loss. To get into the 10s, get my total loss over 1.5 stone and I want to begin to fit into some size 12 trousers.

Went through my wardrobe yesterday and found my size 14 shorts I bought over the summer, I'm not hanging onto them, they're going in the clothes charity bin today as well as some other larger summer clothes. I WILL be a size 10 next summer so they won't be needed.

Not a great start to October! I ate under my usual calories by around 200, did 16,420 steps and gained 1lb, which has put me back at 10stone after just one day in the 9’s.
Have just had breakfast (eggs and grapefruit juice) to see if having a break from 16:8 tricks my body into acting differently.

Thanks for the thread @cricketmum84
Sept was a bit rubbish. I only lost 2.2lbs and half an inch. Currently struggling with a chest problem so not allowed to exercise until it resolves.
SW: 13.7.8
CW: 11.9.0
TW for Oct: 11.7.8
I'm not aiming for much this month. Just enough to reach 2 stones loss.

I live in Australia and my kids are on school holidays, so yesterday I was avoiding chips and burgers and today I was avoiding Cornetto's! It's easier when they are in school and I don't have to think about ice creams!

Hello 😊 have been rather rubbish in September - my birthday, my DDs birthday and too many cakes/sweets/chocolate/biscuits 😳

I haven’t gained any weight in September but I appeared to have only lost about 0.5kg so I’d like to lose more this month.

Am tracking calories again and will keep up with the exercise. Am doing a 10k event on Sunday Shock but I ran 10k last Sunday and was OK so hoping it goes all right.

Starting weight 79.5kg

Current weight 69.5kg

Goal weight 60kg

October goal 3kg loss - think that would take me to being only just overweight which would be great.

We get the cat’s food delivered in 10kg bags - one came yesterday and was weird thinking I’ve lost that much weight

Hi all, some great losses being reported for September. Sadly, I can't add to them, finished September at exactly the same weight as I started it. NSV, though, my size 14 jeans are quite lose now, don't know why when I've lost no weight in the last month.
SW 15 St 12.4 lbs
CW 11 St 13.8lbs
Target for October lose 4 lbs.

I've had a quick short walk this morning, it's harder to get a chance with the kids at home. I had a longer fast this morning so that always feels positive, I did 16.5 hours.

I'm planning on scrambled eggs for lunch, with tomato.

I'm trying to drink plenty of water.

Still at 10st and a bit disappointed my brief foray into the 9s only lasted a day. Out for a meal on Saturday night so I’m not going to weigh in until Monday and totally expect to gain. Oh well, September was good so even if October slows I’ve got something to show for my efforts to date.

You've done really well @Howmanysleepsnow Definitely focus on that, rather than your disappointment over the annoying stone barrier!

@DownUdderer it is definitely more difficult to diet and exercise whilst the children are home! Sounds like you're doing alright though Smile

I'm a pound down today so I'm now 11st. Hoping to lose 1 or 2 before next Saturday, when I go out for DH's birthday meal.

Hello Smile
I’m going to try posting every day as some motivation.
Current weight: 73.1kg
Loss since yesterday: 0.4kg

I know it’s not a good idea to weigh every day but it helps me keep on track at the start!

Seems most people struggled a bit last month, but a loss is a loss and much better than a gain. Shedtheload, I am also losing a few pounds at the beginning if the month and then sticking - it is sooo frustrating!! On a good day I think its still a loss. On a bad day I use expletives Grin - doesnt help with the weight loss situation but sure can help me feel a bit better!

My first official weigh day October and I am down 2lbs to 11st 9lbs. I also had a NSV, I can get down to the third hooks on my bra - I nearly always lose from my chest last so thats a nice surprise!

Good luck this month everyone. I have been really struggling to stay in my calories the last few days, I have managed it but only just. It's the change of weather, massively busy work schedule and two very tired children. My husband is working this weekend too which is a good thing as we need the overtime money but it's a long old weekend, especially as the weather is going to be so rubbish.

I have been reading motivational weight loss quotes on Pinterest, they are things I'd never share but I have my own private board to try and keep my motivation up.

GetTheStartyParted · 02/10/2020 14:49

I like the sound of those @NerrSnerr

You could share one on here to spur us on?

The change in weather does have an impact. You want cosy nights in with a hearty meal. I am trying to resist the very non-keto gravy that I would usually have buckets of, on everything!

I shared a 'face to face Friday' photo on a keto Facebook group this morning and it has over 200 likes and lots of lovely comments. It's really given me a boost.

@JessJonesJumps I think you're right. My size 14 jeans feel loose now, and I've just bought a size 14 fleece which I thought would be a bit snug but it fits perfectly. I'm now looking on ebay for a cheap pair of size 12 jeans, just for a laugh, don't expect them to fit atm. When I started losing weight last year I was size 22 and I didn't believe I'd get to anywhere near a size 14.
