Here's our new thread.. 9st0.75 this morning, had some pub tapas last night and a couple of pints, was truly delicious. Will be having a couple of days when I'm away, going to my Sister's for a couple of days either today or tomorrow. I'm sure nobody can guess what my aim is for this month lol

Morning and happy August.

Yesterday I was 14st3.8 at a new low. Not getting on the scales today as I couldn’t sleep and had a salty snack and a gallon of water.

Goal for the month is to consolidate last months good loss and then aim to see the new land of 13st something and stay there. Hopefully that would see me out of obese and into just plain overweight but haven’t checked.

I’ve lost 15lbs since the start of May and have a long way still to go.

TheHoneyBadger · 01/08/2020 11:12

Nope. Just checked and I switch to overweight when I reach 13st9 so not a realistic target for August. Hopefully in September though.

Have you room for a newbie? Finally tackling the lockdown gain... then hopefully the gains from the last 2 years too!

Welcome @DrMadeleineMaxwell Smile

Exciting times for me, I'm picking up my two kittens tomorrow morning!
I've also noticed that my roses are stunning lately. I know it's a bit random for this thread.

They don’t even look real! Beautiful monster.

Welcome DrM.

BMI calculations made me realise I’ll definitely be going back to work in September in the obese and asthmatic category. I’ve done my best but short of fasting for a week I don’t think I can do more.

Amazed I managed half a stone last month as June was so slow and even if I matched that this month I wouldn’t make it to below 30 bmi.

Never mind it’s all good.

Undecided on today. My bubble friend suggested coming over here for drinks tonight and I don’t know whether to put her off so I can be good or say yes. Haven’t done anything social since last weekend and I know losing weight shouldn’t be at the cost of having a life. Will someone decide for me??

BMI of 33.3 here. Which is obese. Confused
I've lost 4lb so far since starting my diet last week.
Which i think is a good start.
I'm 14.4 and aiming to wave goodbye to 14 on the scales by the time Sept rolls around so my size 16 work.dresses fit! Can't wear my fat jeans in my classroom.

Heygirlheyboy · 01/08/2020 13:55

I started the day well with a 9k step walk.
B: berries and Greek yoghurt, coffee
L: bean salad, vulgar wheat, spicy chickpeas and feta
D: carbonara
S: Strawberries

Had a funny non dinner again last night with friends, nachos (no meat), cheese, parma ham, brownie.. All a bit too much picking so no idea but I had 800 cals to play with so hopefully OK.

Oh goody! Selfishly it’s nice not to be the only obese one. Think I must be a little taller than you as I’m the same weight but a bit lower bmi.

Looks like we have similar goals

Thanks for the new thread @octopus

Goal for this month is maintain 10st and keep up the exercise for fitness and strength.

I would like to lose a couple more lb but don't think achievable this month. I'm off work now for 2 weeks, not going to France as planned so Possibly less cheese but still planning to enjoy my time off with lots of nice days out and meals out.

Today....

B banana, weetabix, berries, coffee
L prawns & garlic dip, rice cakes with peanut butter
S nectarien, fibre one bar
D pasta & homemade sauce. Probably wine as friends are joining us.

Did a HIIT class first thing

I have once got down as far as 11.3 and was a size 10/12 back then depending on where I shopped.

I have interim goals though...
Below 14 asap.
Then below 13.4 which is where I hovered after a hip operation and a change of meds for my TN left me.
Then below 13
Then 12.4 which is where I always hovered without thinking about it for years in my 30s.

I'd like to join in for August. I've always struggled with my weight and I'm starting a new job in September, none of my pre-lockdown school clothes fit so I'm a bit buggered!

I've been doing the 16:8 for 14 days and lost 6lbs so that's a start. On Monday I am starting a month long fitness and nutrition program at a local gym. It seems like a pretty good deal, 3 personal trainer sessions a week, one of which focuses on nutrition, all in £100 but you get your money back if you stick to the program for a month. I think the idea being that if you stick to it you are going to want to become a permenant member of the gym and pay lots of money every month! However, my new school has a gym and swimming pool free for teachers to use so I'm going to aim to use this to kick start my new routine.

I am morbidly obese at the moment. A 2 1/2 st loss ok would put me in the obese category, so that is my current aim. I'm aiming to loose 10lbs in August!

Mind you, as an added complication, I'm about to take part in an experiment with Public Health England about giving up smoking..... so, we will see if it's all too much in one go!

*My wheat was not vulgar but bulgar Grin

I'm trying not to aim too much this months apart from daily target re steps and water. Trying to get average daily steps to 12k and average weekly cal burn to 15k. If I could get under 9st 5, I would be happy with that as motivation to keep it up.

Welcome @Farcry66 congratulations on -6lbs in 2 weeks! That's fantastic! That gym deal sounds great too, i guess it's a good time for incentivising deals.

Welcome @DrMadelineMaxwell and @Farcry66
My goal for August is to actually loose some weight! I've plateaued in July.
Ive now recalculated my calories, now allowed 1670 a day to loose 1lb a week, so will need to cut back a bit more.
August aims:
At least 10,000 steps a day
Aim for 5 days at under 1500 calories, 1 under 1670 and 1 'free' day a week.
Lots of veg
It would be nice to be seeing 80kg by the beginning of September

Maintaining is good enough Iggle! I try to remind myself that I was piling on weight before I started so I'm not just comparing to the weight I was at but the weight I would have been at left unchecked.

I've just looked at my scales app and realised I was a pound lighter than I thought yesterday. I was in fact 14st2.8 whereas I thought 3.8. Guessing I saw what I expected to see. Doubt I'm that now as poor food choices last night and today I caved and bought some beer.

Welcome Farcry.

I'm drinking beer solo and messing about on the internet for lack of an actual social life. Friend had to change her plans and now wants to catch up tomorrow. Definitely need to do a proper good fast next week but it is really nice to have a few beers and relax

Hello to all newcomers!

I have had a delicious dinner for 377 cals and I'm stuffed:
45g wholewheat pasta
Tablespoon rapeseed oil
25g cheddar
Half courgette
Half aubergine
Half red pepper
Half yellow pepper
Handful mushrooms - all veg roasted. Really fab. Day done at 859 and 20k steps... I will be ready for hunger tomorrow but right now feeling more than full.

Welcome newcomers! And another teacher too Grin I was in school today (DC's, where I am a Governor) doing some gardening as of course we can't afford a caretaker. Found some fab resources that I can't wait to get in to action. Very exciting.

Not a great food day today.

B bacon sandwich
L salad, crisps, digestive biscuits, fruit and nut chocolate Blush
D burgers, chips and coleslaw.

Prob about 1500 Confused

Plans for August... Get firmly in to the 13 stone barrier, complete 100 mile challenge.

Which reminds me, I did not enjoy doing my last 5km yesterday. Sweaty in the extreme.

I've walked 11 miles today and eaten a maintenance amount shall we say. So nice to loosen up sometimes.

I've done WW to death in the past and did get to goal with it at some point in the past. But I don't like the new plan much, and certainly don't like paying their price monthly, especially as actual meetings can't happen.

I've got 2 or 3 different exercise DVDs to use. The teens don't surface til lunchtime and DH is back at work on Mon, 4 days a week. So I'm going to do a dvd each morning.
And foodwise, I've downloaded Nutracheck as I like the style of the diary and the uk food lists. I don't mind paying for 3 months what one month of WW would have cost me.

I've heard of Nutracheck before and just went to have a look at it - I might be tempted to switch over from MFP. I was just moaning a bit to DH today as I want to move from daily to weekly counting, so I can eat less in the week and more on the weekend, and I don't feel that MFP has much functionality to offer in that respect. I just saw on the reviews for Nutracheck that suggest that it might be better.

We only started walking in March but I am loving it. While the weather is good i guess!
