It's monday so it must be time to start (yet) again

I have lost count of the amount of times I have done this.
I am an emotional eater, my meals are cooked from scratch and well balanced. Sadly I then ruin it by eating snacks when I am pissed off or bored or happy or sad...…

So here I am again and every time I have even more to lose. My plan is to take it in half stone chunks, I can't look at the bigger picture as it is too overwhelming and makes me want to give up.

So today is a new day and I am going to try really hard to get there this time.

If anyone has any tips that worked to keep them on track that would be great. And if anyone else would like to join me for some support that would be great too.

Not only is it a Monday, it’s a Monday that also happens to me the 1st of a new month. That is the Holy Grail for a serial dieter.

I have been eating and drinking way too much for the past 2 months and can’t even face the scales today. I was thinking earlier if only I had started this on 1st April I could be 2 months into it by now. It would be great to be emerging from lockdown slimmer, fitter and healthier but that is not to be.

However if I start today I can be slimmer, fitter and healthier by 1st July, 1st August, 1st September etc. If I don’t start today I will still be fat, unfit and unhealthy come the winter.

I am going to do intermittent fasting (16/8 ) and calorie counting. I will try and keep by carbs lowish but calories will trump carbs because I can eat far too many calories when I go full on low carb.

Good point, I had forgotten it was the start of a new month as well.
Double whammy!

My plan is actually similar to yours but probably more carbs.
Boiled eggs and soldiers for lunch at 12.30 and will have an early dinner. One of my biggest downfalls is that we want dinner about 8 or 8.30 which means I snack too much in the afternoon.
Have had a walk in the woods in the sunshine and now watching rubbish tv for a bit before I do some boring housework.
Good luck!

I could have written this myself! I lost about 2 stone before the lockdown. Then like an idiot have done nothing but stress/boredom eat for the entire lockdown period and put over a stone back on!! 😭 Restarted yesterday as back to work and all my clothes are feeling tight. I'm tracking on myfitnesspal. Works for me because I can eat anything but in moderation. Good luck x

Thanks @Cathy1984 and good luck.

Lockdown has definitely not helped, I need to lose about 3 and half stone.

Had a good day yesterday and today is looking positive. One day at a time!

I've got just over 3 stone to lose too. Hopefully I can actually do it this time! Have been trying to get back to pre-baby weight since my first son was born... He's now 6!!! 😂 I've been close but am rubbish at maintaining so always going up and down!

Sounds familiar! I've just been boredom and sad eating! And now I'm scared I won't fit in my wedding dress and I already had the last fitting!

I've been trying intermittent fasting and logging everything into Lose It app. But it's tricky when it's stuff I've made as I'm impatient in putting everything in individually.

I did a 36 hour fast yesterday finishing today at 9:20 am and I've been not too hungry today. Normally I don't eat til 12 but because I had a big breakfast (avocado toast and poached eggs) I didn't feel hungry. So my eating is a bit out of whack today.

Probably going to do my fitness class tonight. It pouring with rain here so I'll probably skip a walk.

Well that is 3 days now and I have managed to do 16/8 and stick to around 1200 cals. How is everyone else doing?

It’s my birthday on Sunday and apparently we are having a takeaway as neither my husband or 2 boys are up to cooking anything fancy. The supermarket delivery can still be a bit random so it’s probably safer.

I am going to weigh myself on Monday and then just carry on and weigh myself on the 1st of every month. I am aiming to lose 7lbs per month, around 2lbs per week. Of course I would like more but this time I am trying to be realistic.

I am actually doing ok, I have stuck to 16:8 and I am walking over 10000 steps a day.

The whole shit storm of the world isn't helping however and the carbs and booze have been calling.

Hi all! Serial dieter here and not a very good one. I'm also an emotional eater, happy, sad, fed up, bored all of the feelings send me into the snack cupboard 😫 I've been thinking of doing the 16/8 but I'm confused about the amount of calories, so at the moment I get 1200 on MFP so if I do 16/8 and don't have my first meal until lunchtime does that mean I have 1200 between 12 and 8pm? Or do I get less because it's a shorter amount of time?

I've got about 3st to lose and it just feels so huge and unattainable.

@nicsknackered that is the beauty of 16:8 to me. You get the same cals but just eat them within the 8 hour window .

Knowing I cant eat anything the rest of the time weirdly helps me.

Well done all, sounds like you're all doing well. I'm on day 3 of 1200 cals on mfp. Seems to be going okay, just hope I can keep it up! Back to work full time from tomorrow so hoping a more structured routine will help too.

I have around 300 cals around 1pm 800 cals for a big dinner at 6pm and 100 cals for milk throughout the day.

I've been thinking of trying the 16/8 as well, I'm a Monday dieter and have been for years but I never get further than Tuesday! I'm a massive snacker and with two kids in the house there are too many snacks, I wish you could purchase willpower!

I'm going to give it a go, this is a bad week for me already though as my period is due in 4 days so right now I want to eat everything Confused

Morning

I have predictably fallen off the wagon over the last couple of days. I find it too easy when I feel down or anxious to reach for the carbs.
However what is not as predictable is me drawing a line under it and starting again. So today is another day and I am getting back on it.

Good luck to everyone else who may be struggling .

Ok so it's Monday tomorrow which obviously means I'm starting some new kind of weight loss plan 😂 I'm going to give 16/8 a go and see how I get on, I really need to stick to something!!

I'm starting today, seeing as it's Monday!

I have really put on a lot of weight during lockdown, I was already a couple of stone over weight before all this.

My plan is to dramatically cut down on what I eat. Not sure how much I currently weigh, just about to have a shower so I shall weigh myself and report back.

Charging my Fitbit as we speak 😃

Try listening to Feel Better Live More podcasts. The one on body clocks really got me into cutting back on eating.

Morning

I have lost a whole 2 pounds in the last week. Its not great but it is a start.
My plan is to stick to 16:8 and keep an eye on the calories.
Get out twice a day for a walk. Podcasts are keeping me sane at the moment @LidlDonkey so will have a look at that.

Good luck to everyone who has that Monday feeling!

@Twilbury well done on losing, despite having a wobble a couple of days ago.

I be found having a fitness tracker ( just a cheap one from amazon) has been great at motivating me to exercise each day and as a result I seem to be losing weight slowly but surely ( only been doing it 3 weeks so hoping I can keep going!)
