1.6 again wtf. Three weeks in a row.
I feel like I deserve double. Haven’t even lost five and used to do that in a week!

Thanks for that @MrsSnitchnose

@menthollyinsane No problem. Was hesitating in case I was stepping on anyone's toes 😂 Not persisted with a thread for so long and didn't know if there was some kind of MN etiquette when starting a follow on!

@Queenoftheashes it is quite depressing isn't it, but better than gaining. It's a slow process. Very slow!

I just googled how many weeks until Christmas. There are 33 weeks, so even 1lb a week means I'm thin!

menthollyinsane · 07/05/2020 17:20

@MrsSnitchnose no you are not stepping on anyone's toes. You've saved me a job so thank you. I can't believe we have stuck at it long enough to fill up a thread.

@MrsSnitchnose Am loving the new thread title. Our own little fat club 🤣

@menthollyinsane Wasn't sure what to call it, but now we are named forever!

Thought this graph may be useful to illustrate losses and gains, compared with the over all results. Weight loss isn't linear, as long as the trajectory is downwards, try not to worry Smile

@menthollyinsane I know - a pound a week gets me thin in a year.
I suppose I am impatient to get dieting over with and go back to eating shit 😂 so clearly I have a way to go mentally still

Just remember everyone you need a 3500 calorie deficit to lose a pound in a week. That’s a 500 deficit per day so make sure you’re using the online calculators to ensure this is happening.

Thank you mrssnitchnose!
I'm proud that we are properly named now!
I've bought a cream egg and have it in my fridge, calling to me. Having slimming world chips with 2 eggs for tea - not got too much to play with on MFP! Blush
Well done everyone - as has been said, keep on keeping on and we'll get there in the end!

Great losses, all, well done. I’ve lost a pound, and I’m ok with that. I don’t want to be too strict as that has caused me problems before, so a gradual weight loss will be fine.

They did taste amazing @diege, but because ds refused to eat I ate his too so they weren’t wasted Blush

I’ve maintained this week, still 10 stone 6, which I’m not surprised by.
1 stone 2lb down overall.

Need to exercise this week and not make any lore pastry/buns..dd will have to put up with crafts instead!

I’m feeling very much ‘can’t be arsed with it all’ today Hmm. Not the attitude, I know but I’m frustrated with my glacially slow progress and bored shitless with counting and not eating the really nice things, or only having tiny bits of it. Grrr

JonHammIsMyJamm · 08/05/2020 09:34

And I’m now stood in the entry queue for M&S food so I know any sensible shopping ideas will go out of the window Blush

menthollyinsane · 08/05/2020 09:47

@JonHammIsMyJamm sorry you are feeling fed up today. Just think how bad you will feel if you make bad food choices and purchases . You can do this, be strong.

Fabulodosus · 08/05/2020 09:48

@Jon Can you get out for a quick walk? I've had to force myself to go out on my bike (I prefer 2 wheels to feet Grin ) twice this week but felt so much better and it 'reset' the day for me so was totally worth it.

Good luck with the shopping! One advantage of only doing click and collect recently... I've not been able to impulse buy!

Keep strong jonhamm! Maybe have a small treat lined up for tonight to get you through? I think a 'fuck it' day is permitted once in a while though! Secret, as we all know too well, is not to let it become a week...
I'm languishing in bed with a coffee and Season 6 of the Walking Dead - strangely life affirming!
I need to at least look at the finance form for my eldest daughter's uni place today. Also fill in an application form for some extra tutoring work (my current job is 0.8) as worried sick about meeting the accommodation costs of uni (£150 a week!!!)
Silver lining is that I can't eat when stressed so that's good! 🤣

I can't seem to get motivated and move my lard arse off the sofa. I thought I would make a cake, then realised I would scoff the lot so I'm not going to bother. I bloody hate this dieting.

I should walk the dog so I guess I will force myself to go.

Report
JonHammIsMyJamm · 08/05/2020 10:24

Thanks for the support and firm words all. I’ve already walked the dog this morning, @Fabulodosus, so I have been out. Five and half thousand steps under my belt so far. I’ve got to run today too (treadmill).

@diege, I feel you re the uni stuff. My youngest goes this year and we’ve been doing the paperwork. She’s got the accommodation she wanted (she applied on the day it opened) and of course it’s the top whack one at about £165 a week Hmm. We’re fortunate enough to be able to cover it without too much bother but the paperwork is a pain. We also need to apply for DSA for her, so that’s another layer, hopefully she’ll get it as she’ll really benefit from the additional support. Fingers crossed you can get hold of tutoring work without too much bother, what’s your subject? Are you likely to pick up private work from parents/students wanting to catch up as a result of missed schooling hours?

@menthollyinsane, I know what you mean re baking. I’ve been baking a small cake as a treat on weekends (literally enough for a sensible portion for each of us on Saturday and sunday) but I’m not doing it this weekend. It’s lovely but it’s not exactly helping the waistline reduction!

Report
diege · 08/05/2020 10:47

jonhamm same here, the accommodation she's selected is the 'top whack' one 😫 but as she has a serious medical condition (which delayed her studies for a year) I want her to have her own bathroom etc. Bloody expensive though! Re tutoring, I'm a uni lecturer in social work, sociology, and politics, thankfully still on full pay. There's some extra work going with the OU so hoping I stand a chance! What's your youngest off to study?
I managed to get flour yesterday 🤣 so planning on scones and an apple cake. I adore scones, so may have to have just the one; apple cake not so much, which is a very good thing!

Wow @Jon that's amazing!! I've probably done about 100 office to kitchen and back twice for coffee! (I'm working today). Enjoy your run!

Uni and the costs sound horrendous... at least with eldest age 5 I've a few years to save up for that! Shock

Report
JonHammIsMyJamm · 08/05/2020 11:04

@diege. We feel the same re accommodation and her having what she wanted. She has moderate/severe MH issues and uni will be a big transition for her. She is well at the moment but we were (and are) very concerned about how the change in her routine will affect her, as it is very important to her. She’s doing biology Smile. Fingers crossed for the girls, eh?

Interesting subjects you teach at the best of times but I should imagine it’s an especially interesting time to be an academic in those areas at the moment. Massive changes in social norms and a state of global emergency sending governments into tailspin, different approaches and seemingly no (or very little) partnership working between nations. Very interesting.

My advice would be get saving, @Fabulodosus! Especially if you’ve more than 1!

jonhamm it's such a worry isn't it? My daughter wants to be a primary school teacher, and the uni she's chosen is the other end of the country 😩 She'll need to come home for hospital appointments but is very keen to go somewhere new (and expensive!). I'd far rather she stay closer to home, but what can you do!
Re: your daughter, there's some great support at university level for mental health and I'm sure your daughter will be well supported. Very different from in my day! 🤣
Have just done a Davina M 'glutes and core' workout - hard work! Was going to add in some cardio but am quitting while I'm ahead.
Hope everyone's having a good BH - at work or home!
