Morning all.
Day 5 in the weight loss challenge for me. Yesterday did not go well. Very stressful working day while also juggling internet failure and small person (who DH was supposed to be looking after but he ended up working on the internet failure for about 4 hours instead). Followed by very stressful bedtime as small person was a ratbag. Ate three bits of cake (had planned one as my daily treat) and ended up having Chinese with rice and seaweed and prawn crackers for dinner. Had planned for Chinese with no rice or anything else.
On the cross trainer and then weights again this morning.
Start weight: 12st 7.25
Current weight: 12st 7.5 🙈

Hello again. I am really struggling, don't really know why! I can't fit into my clothes, but all I want to do is eat. New goal for May: stay the same.

Ploughingthrough · 01/05/2020 06:57

Tanaqui that's a totally understandable goal in these times. Things are so strange normal weight loss is going to be hard.

Good morning everyone,

I am so grateful that I found this thread. I am not doing weigh-in. I am not sure I have any scales and I worry about being devastated at my weight. I am about two sizes up, maybe more and my clothes don’t really fit me. My saving grace is that I have a preference for loose/baggy clothes which means that all comfy clothes now fits like sausage skins, but I can still squeeze into some of them (in addition to DHs t-shirts). My goal is to get into some of my clothes!

I am setting myself a goal of

a) about 15,000 steps per day,
b) only one piece of toast (rye if possible) for breakfast unless starving - I was having about three as I love toast.
c) continue to eat family meals for dinner, but loading up on vegetables
d) healthy lunch instead of sandwiches
e) pre-planned snacks afternoon and evening (I used to have cake, crackers with lots of cheese and loads of chocolate)
f) continue to allow myself a G&T for cocktail hour and some wine If I want to (Max two small glasses) in the evening. This is a lockdown thing, DH cannot go to the pub, so he is making G&Ts at 5/6 and we have started a wine subscription. Homeschooling is driving me absolutely crazy (have 3 primary school aged children in a small flat without outdoor access and the mess is constant whatever I do)!

Good morning! And hello May!

I'm same start weight as April. I suppose I should be thankful for a maintain but I really am going to try harder in May and am determined to see a good loss.

Stats are:
Start weight for May: 18.2
Target weight for 31st: 17.9
Loss so far: 7st 2lbs

Plan for today is:
B - honeydew melon
L - leftover veggie chilli and salad
D - masala fish and salad on homemade flatbread

@Ploughingthrough am ok, still very sore where the rash is and still quite shivery. Had a stressful night with littlest DD (11) with stomach cramps and then a freak out when she realised she had started her first period! Was sat up with her at midnight with a cup of sugary tea chatting about girl stuff so am exhausted this morning!

@MoreHippoThanPenguin that sounds like a really good action plan!!

Have a great 1st May everyone!

I’m in!
Lost a bit of weight last year upping my exercise but inevitably it’s gone back on and then some in 2020.
I figure if we are in lockdown for the whole of May I can try and shift 3kg and get me nearer to my Jan weight.
Will weigh in at lunchtime but looking to lose 3kg by doing more exercise and eating a bit better.
Good luck losers!

Doh, was sure I clicked on the April thread! Nevermind! Morning everyone.

B: might skip, not hungry
L: cheese and ham omelette
D: I need to get something out of the freezer, have some cabbage and mushrooms to use up though.

I made keto mcdonalds last night, it was delicious but my 'bread' rolls turned out purple! Made my own ketchup and had celariac fries with it.

Hello 👋 Can I join.. had a baby in January and trying the loose the extra stone I seemed to have gained. Some bad habits since the birth, I had gestational diabetes so was on a strict diet when pregnant ( whole packets of biscuits in one sitting since.. ekk ) weighed myself two weeks ago 11st 2 lbs

Today 10 st 13 lbs... I'm doing the no chocolate / biscuits / puddings diet and exercising as much as you can with a baby and a toddler !

Can I join, 13 stone 8, 5ft 6 so I'd say about 2 stone over. I don't eat sweets/chocs/crisps or drink alcohol so I'd say it's carbs which is affecting me. I also have an underactive thyroid. I don't eat after 6pm. It's disheartening as my friend has lost 2 stone by cutting out takeaways (which i never have) and working out for 2hrs every day and I'm nowhere close.

Happy May to you all! Wow, it's been a challenge, homeschooling a 6 year old and trying to work from home and all the emotional ups and downs of lockdown. I'm amazed I'm still losing weight but I really am.

Here are my stats:

Starting weight: 17 st 8.5 lb (January)
Current weight: 15 st 13 lb
Target for May: 15 st 6 lb (-7 lb)
Total still to lose: 49 lb

I'm doing Weightwatchers and am on the green plan. If anyone else is interested and wants a free month, feel free to use my link (I get one too if you do!) www.weightwatchers.co.uk/uk/checkout/iaf/?iaftoken=AED765BD00 -- I hope nobody minds my sharing this, and feel free to share yours too if you are on WW!

Just caught up on this thread now i now what month it is!

@cricketmum84 Hope you feel better soon Flowers and that your DD is alright, coping with yet another change at this time.
My DS is struggling this week, his sister moved out last weekend to start a job in the NHS. He misses her so much, it means that all 3 of his siblings are working away from home and he only has me and his Dad for company, poor child.

Hello to all new people, good luck with your weight loss journey.

I’m in. Current weight 10st 3, down 2lb from 10st 5 mid April.
Aiming for 9st 7 by the end of lockdown.
Mix of exercise, cutting out chocolate after lunch, adding protein to lunch choices and reducing carbs across all meals.
Aiming for gradual weight loss that’s sustainable as have young kids at home and enjoy exercise so I’m too tired if I try and cut back calories too far & end up bingeing in the evening.

Hello to all old friends and hello also to new joiners!

@Eesha It sounds like tracking might help you to discover where you could change your diet. Could well be carbs! But I guess if you track and find you're eating minimal calories already, it could also be something to take to the GP re your thyroid??

@ishouldtryabiteachday Welcome! I actually didn't put on weight during my pregnancy but found the time after was when I put on a lot of weight!! So I know what you mean.

This month (and I know I said this last month) I really really really need to up my water intake. There's no way I am drinking 2 litres of water a day. I am going to come on here each day and put down what I'm drinking!

May 1st weight 13 St 1.2 lbs
Target for 31st. 12 St 10 lbs
Loss so far. 39.2 lbs

Really looking forward to getting into the 12s and if I make my target my BMI should go from obese to overweight. Fingers crossed.

Morning all.
January start weight 14 st 3.75lbs
April loss 2lbs
May start weight 12st 6lbs
Hoping to finally get into the 11's. First goal is 12 st 3.75lbs which will be 2 stone lost. Next is to get into the 11's. Hoping to achieve the first goal at least in May. I'm back on strictly Keto from today as I've been off the wagon more than on it for the last week. My ultimate plan is to get to 11st 9lbs and planning to stay in the 11's thereafter. I'm quite tall so I'll look O.K. at that weight I think. I'm worried about looking scrawny and wrinkled if I go much lower. [I'm 64]
@cricketmum84 thank you for the new thread. I hope you feel better soon. Bless littlest DD all grown up! Welcome to all new ones and well done to all those who are managing a loss in lockdown. Amazing.
@Eesha I have an underactive thyroid and am on thyroxine. I also was addicted to carbs and sported a huge bread baby which is now all but gone. The only thing that has worked for me in terms of weight loss is Keto so you might have more success on the scales by cutting carbs. I've found that knocking them out completely is the only way for me as once I start I can't stop - hence my measly 2lb loss in April!
Good luck in May everybody - hoping that by the end we are all starting to emerge from lockdown in better shape.

Good morning all, thanks cricketmum84 for the new thread, if it wasn't for this community I'm pretty sure that I would have given up by now.
My stats:
Start weight (18.9. 19) - 16st 10lbs
Current weight - 11st 12lbs
Target for 31st May - 11st 7lbs

I'm calorie counting and am going to try to stick to 1250 per day (plus extra on Saturday's as that is family takeaway night) which is a drop of 100 cals. If doesn't sound a lot but I might struggle as I am comfortable with 1350 and have my usual snacks etc which I will have to reduce. I
weigh daily but my weigh in day is Wednesday.
I'm currently queueing at Tescos and it has started to rain.

Hello everyone, can I join? Last month I lost enough to tip the scales so they are either low 16 or high 15. I am thrilled with this as I have been struggling to loose any weight at all. It means that last month I lost about 5 lbs. Smile

This month I would love to loose 7lbs but would actually be really happy to not have the scales hit 16, even at the end of the day or after a meal. So, my goals are
To be a secure 15 (never 16)
Drink more water

Good luck everyone Grin
