Anyone want to join me on a 2st(ish) weight loss journey?

Hi
Like lots of people I’m trying to get back to a healthy weight - spurred on by COVID19. My weight has been creeping up and I started lockdown at the heaviest I’ve ever been (annoyingly much of this was ‘new’ weight gain.)
I’ve lost about 7lbs since lockdown - (maybe more - I avoided weighing myself at the start) and have really stepped up my efforts in the last fortnight. I still have another 2 stone to go.
DH is overweight too and I’ve finally convinced him to shed some weight which is good. I’m hoping that together we can make a permanent changes.
Is there anyone else in a similar position who would like to join me for mutual support?
I’ve just started (as in today) doing 5:2. I’ve been counting calories and I am using my new exercise bike for about 40 mins a day.

Yes! I will. Sounds like you've made a great start.

I actually started 10 weeks ago which is a good thing as it meant I was in the swing of things when lockdown cane around. I've lost 25lbs so far with 2 stone to go so this thread could be perfect for accountability

I'm calorie counting, I walk about 15k steps a day and I do the odd peloton session

Keep up the fab work and look forward to joining you for some accountability

Hi Orange, I have more than 2 stone to lose, but can I join too?

I'd ideally like to lose 3, possibly 3 and a half stone, but would be over the moon with 2 and a half! Kickstarted cleaner eating and working out again as of yesterday morning so would be great to keep the motivation going with others!

Congrats on the 7lbs loss, that's fantastic!

I'm doing the 16:8 fasting, started yesterday and felt insanely hungry by 9pm (my eating window is 10am - 6pm) and assumed I would wake up ravenous this morning as a result, and wouldn't feel up to getting on my exercise bike, but surprisingly, I feel ok for now!

I plan to keep my calorie intake around 1300-1400 every day and I'm aiming for at least 20-30 minutes fast cycling on my exercise bike each morning, and if I get the time amongst dealing with three DC's three and under, I'm going to try and incorporate some weight workouts during the day too!

Oooh, can I join? I'm looking to lose about 4 stone really but 2 would take me back to pre baby weight roughly 🤞🏻
I started about a week ago using MFP again, keeping my calorie intake to about 1300/1400 a day, walking each day and fitting in kettlebells when baby allows it.
And I think I'm gonna weigh in on Wednesdays 😊

Yes I will join in! I need to loose more than 2 stone but that can be a starter target. I did SW and lost a stone in a couple of months but then moved. hopefully, I can loose that again.

Planning to eat healthily and do some exercise videos on youtube anyone got any recommendations?

Hi guys. Would love this. I am logging my calories and now DH (keyworker) has weekends off I can go for proper fast paced walks as kids are with their Dad Smile they walk at a snails pace.

Hi can I join too ?

I lost 8 stone by strict calorie counting (and the divorce helped ) but has been creeping in and I want to lose 2 now and 3 If possible .

Need the accountability. Got up to week 6 on CT5K but have done zero exercises for a couple of weeks now and feel lethargic and fat .

Am working at home in social care and it is stressful but need to stop using that as an excuse.

Will look up those YouTube videos ...

What's everyone had for breakfast this morning!?

It's finally ticked passed 10am so I can eat now and feeling super ready for it after doing 10k on the exercise bike 🥵

I'm having two rye crackers with a thin spread of houmous, and two poached eggs which I haven't had in YEARS! Looking forward to it Smile

Total calories comes in at around 238.

Loads of people! Fantastic! Welcome everyone. Well done on all the weight loss so far but
HHRP 8 stone is amazing. Hats off to you.
I’ve done 10K on my exercise bike this morning too. Breakfast was a boiled egg and asparagus. I’ve got salmon for dinner but no idea about lunch yet.
What are your menus for the day?

I am starting the calorie counting tomorrow 😂

Have a FaceTime date later so will be having wine .

When I lost a lot of weight I was calorie counting for 6 days a week and used to have a day off a week. Am going to go back to that as it worked for me before.

Not a clue what we're having for dinner today, but I'll likely have a chicken breast baked in one of those Maggi oven bags, lots and lots of veg on the side.

Just about to have a snack of half a banana which was left over from what my baby didn't eat this morning Grin a few sea salt rice cakes/crackers and a few nuts.

Just a wee bagel for me, saving my calories for a homemade chicken burger tonight!
About to go on our walk so gonna head uphill for a bit more of a burn.

Can I join please? I've been trying to lose weight for a long while but I now need to lose 1-2 stone to get back into my clothes from last summer.
I'm a size 16-18 and feel pretty ashamed of myself. This will be a good support. I am trying my best to stick to 1300 calories but I need to find time to exercise...but I work long hours and it's so difficult. I like people posting what they are eating to get some inspiration...

@bigfootfred I'm up for weekly weigh-ins! Just waiting on some new batteries to arrive for my bathroom scales. I've been assuming my starting weight at the moment, so it'll be interesting to see what I actually weigh, and I'm looking forward to hopefully seeing some weekly progress!

Think I'm similar to you @bigfootfred I'm guessing I'm around 83kg at the mo, not too sure though as I'm basing that purely off of my last weighing seconds before DC3 was born 7 months ago Grin aiming to get down to 58kg so I've a long, long way to go, but hoping once my scale batteries arrive, that my weight right now might not be as big as I'm thinking, orrrrr it could go the other way, oh no!!

I'm about to do to 10k on my exercise bike, but if my three DC's are playing happily, I'll push for 13k, then I'll be having an omelette and some rice cakes with houmous on at 10am, ending my 16 hour fast Smile

With regards to food - I sent DH to the shops yesterday with a little list for me, mostly consisting of veg, maggi oven bake bags which are great for flavoursome chicken! Nuts, crackerbread, rice cakes, houmous, oats etc. My biggest downfall diet wise is pasta and potato, but so far I'm coping well without both - she says as she sits here dreaming of a goopy Mac and cheese bake topped with golden, crispy cheddar cheese 😂🥴🤦🏻‍♀️

Morning! And welcome to everyone who has just joined.
I’m definitely up for a sunday morning weigh in. I was 12st13lb today. I’d like to get down to 11st eventually but my target for the end of this month is 12st7.
I’m on a fast day today so I although I’ll go on my exercise bike I’ll probably only do 5k but I’ll hopefully go on a walk mid afternoon too.
Hope you all have a good day today.

Hope you don't mind if I join. Not having to see people meant I was less strict with how I look and eat 😳. Now I'm so worried I'll have to start doing the school run in a month or so and I'll have put on lots of weight 😢. The family are getting food delivery today and I have to be strong and stick to my food plan and calorie allowance. Good luck to everyone trying to get to their goals 😊

Hello Ladies can I join too please?I'm not very social media infact MN is the only one I use. Now I am at my heaviest ever (fattest is more like it). I've a cupboard full of clothes and nothing to wear.My downfall is meal times.I don't eat because I'm hungry but because it's dinner time or tea time. Once lockdown is over I can't go out of the house as have got no clothes that don't tug and pull around my fat middle. I am a disgrace.Tomorrow I intend to weigh and measure myself, sort my head out and then I'll be back.WinkFeel better now.See you all sometime tomorrow

Hope everyone doing ok, weather looks nice so I'm doing a long walk...fast. I did ok yesterday, I stuck within my "calorie window", fingers crossed same today. I'm planning to do squats, plank and press ups every day, starting with 1 most likely 😂

Good morning! I’d also like to join in as desperately need the accountability. My “natural” weight before kids was always about 10.5st and a size 12, however for years I’ve been a size 14 and my weight has fluctuated like a yo-yo but stayed between 12st and 13st. Over Christmas and New Year a whole extra stone appeared meaning I’m now 14st. Absolutely depressing! I didn’t overdo it at Christmas and in fact it was quite a sedate affair having lost a family member last year. I have been wondering if it might be partly age (early forties) and it’s definitely related to a sedentary lifestyle as all my work is computer-based and from home.

I’m honesty not sure where to start at the moment but I see a few of you are doing the 5:2, which sounds like it might be worth a whirl, so I’ll start with a fast day, today. On the other days I will try and eat better food during the day and I think I might also try and cut out bread as it’s become my “go to” breakfast and lunch - or snack if I’m peckish.

itswonkylampshade · 04/05/2020 08:32

Meant to add that I’m planning on a bike ride there times a week and I might also start C25K. I’m seriously unfit, though, so don’t envisage this being an easy task for me at the weight I currently am!
