lockdown assisted weight loss, join me?

I’m on day 4 of giving up chocolate and crisps. So far it’s going well. Lockdown is definitely helping, no nipping to the shop to get snacks or sandwiches. I’ve lost 1.3kg this first week. I’m cooking everyday and eating healthy food.

I’m hoping to continue after lockdown too. Must lose weight, my starting weight was 172.6kg. My goal weight is 90kg. Hopefully going to Disney once I’ve lost the weight, that’s my reward.

Anyone Want to join me? What’s your goal and is lock down helping you?

Well done on reaching day 4!
I'm exactly the same, day 4 for me and lockdown seems to be helping. Brought lots of healthy food on my weekly shop and been going for a walk every day.

Start 18st.
I'd like to get to 12 ideally! 😬

Good luck!

I'm in! Thank you for starting this thread @wombatsandaplant.

I started last Monday and am just waiting for my scales to move. I was a terrible binger and snacker so I've cut all that out and just having 3 sensible meals and lots of water. I never really drink so can't cut that out.

Lots of exercise. Too much yoga as it helps my anxiety but no steps as I darent go beyond my garden right now.

Starting weight was 12st 8. Hoping to be 10st 6. I'd like to be able to fit in my wedding dress for our 10th anniversary in July.

Hey duck and mayday.

I don’t drink too, and I don’t drink tea or coffee either. Not much to cut out but crisps and chocolate.

Planning Disney for next May fingers crossed, so I need to lose weight for that. I’m glad I’ve got something to look forward too.

Can I join in? Currently 15.4 and only 5ft 4 😖
I'm addicted to full sugar coke and sugar as well as a nighttime binge eater aiming to limit coke to 1 can a day at first, 20 minute workout with weights and at least 30 minutes walk a day.

Hi, I am intermittent fasting 12-8. I binged on the first week and put on 7lbs!! I did a big shop and bought loads of crisps & treats which I never normally buy I ate most of it myself 😳

I started on Monday and I’ve lost 5lbs just cutting out the crap, eating salads and soups and doing HITT and walking in the evening with th kids. I feel loads better so will keep going, ideally I’ve 14lbs to go. I turn 36 in a few weeks and I’d really like a spa day when this is all over.

Hello, room for another? (I’d say room for a small one but, well, I’m not :o)

I’ve finally started losing weight this year. I can’t exactly take credit for this as it’s not been sheer willpower, but because I was diagnosed with ADHD in November and the medication helps because I don’t crave dopamine hits from sugar/caffeine etc, and I’m less impulsive so making better decisions is easier. So far this year I’ve lost 20lb - although 5 of that was a couple of weeks ago when I was so ill I couldn’t eat (not sure if it was CV or not but symptoms suggest it may have been). I’m still well over 15st so a long way to go!

However in lockdown I’m struggling - I am bored (but due to still feeling unwell - I have some chronic conditions which have kicked off too - I can’t do much) and missing the gym/swimming/yoga that I had begun doing gently last year.

Digging the exercise bike out for family distance challenges, as I can’t go far on my daily exercise yet (I’d need several rest breaks which kind of defeats the point so I’m currently just going for 15-20mins) and will start doing online yoga I think.

I’m starting healthy eating tomorrow I’ve gained 10lb in the last month, I’m nearly 15 stone now & so fed up with myself I’m eating through boredom, I need to get a grip

Managed a walk today. First time I’ve gone out with the others so that was nice. Legs really ache now though. Problem is it’s only toddler pace walking anyway so not exactly getting the heart rate up

I’ve had juice daily recently too which I don’t normally. I think this will be the first gain of the year when I weigh myself on Monday 😳

I’ll join, I have been losing but not been so good the last few days. I am walking everyday, only 2 miles but a decent hill which my kids run up so I struggle to keep up. My BMI is over 40 so first aim is to get it below that.

I’ve been eating non stop since I started wfh and I had over 2 stone to lose anyway. I’m starting today on 156 pounds. I want to lose 7 pounds by the end of April ideally but just stopping putting weight on would be a start

God I ache from the hiit workout I did yesterday. Good ache though. I haven't done any exercise in months due to injury and an operation. It felt good to move my body.

6lb down today so I'm happy. Planning on similar today - dog walk, hiit, fasting hopefully until tonight

Can I join too? I have been terrible so far on lockdown, just had a miscarriage this week and generally it's been crap. I am trying to not fall into the trap of eating as comfort but feeling better about doing something good for my body instead.

I need to weigh myself but roughly 12 stone and would like to be under 10.5

I am so shit at committing to these things. However I am now working from home, and it seems to be helping. Especially as we don't have masses of food available.

Currently I weigh 14st bang on, I really need to get down to 12st to feel good. Although that is still over BMI of 25 for my height (5'9"), I am happy at 12st.

Strategy is just to eat less and move more! We only have one TV in the main living room, but today's job is to clear out the playroom so I can actually exercise in there...

Can I join too?

I'm trying to do LCHF BS diet but am really struggling. I have a shed load to lose and it does not want to come off. Not being helped by the menopause I think too. So I'm going to ad in intermittent fasting and see if that helps.

I really need to do some exercise so am thinking of yoga and Pilates at home to try and stretch everything out and keep flexible.

Wish me luck, I'm going to need it.

Hi all,

Just popping on to offer encouragement. I was 16stone 1/1/20 and now down to 13.9. I am aiming for 12 stone so have just passed half way. Definitely slowed during lockdown but I'm trying really hard to be as active as possible and be realistic about what loss might look like during this time.

It's so much easier once you're a week or so in, keep going!

I'm joining too, please! Being at home near the food all the time is NOT helping!

Gave birth Dec 2018, lost pregnancy weight and a bit more but a over a year after the birth I've put it all back on again 😭 I was on WW. Have cancelled that as no point paying if I'm not motivated. I need to find my weight loss mojo again.

I'm nearly at my heaviest ever weight - currently 12st 1lbs (heaviest was 12st 3lbs, 13 years ago!). I want to be 10st 2lbs (was that for a long time) but ideally somewhere around 9st (hah!). So 3stone to lose!

Have My fitness pal app and C25K. Just got to finish eating this packet of hula hoops then I might go out for a run Hmm

I NEED some incentive! I just eat. And eat. And eat. Anyone have any good tips for stronger willpower?!

I find intermittent fasting where I eat lunch at midday and dinner around 6pm, helps. So fasting from 6pm till 12pm, If I can get to bed without snacking in the evening then I don’t tend to get hungry in the morning.
