My plan was to get my fat act together on January 1st. This has unfortunately failed and I really want to do this.

Today is my new fresh start.

Please join me.

I am 11 days into it. I have joined WW and am doing purple plan and it’s working well. Also been px saxenda which is helping. I have around 2 stone to loose. Feel massive and can’t wait to feel better

Agree you've not fucked up. If you don't stick to it this time though, then you're moving towards having fucked up, don't be hard on yourself. Just focus and you can do it. By the summer you'll have lost it and look amazing, and feel great.

Give yourself a break. So you have made some less healthy choices but that's in the past. I started Jan 1st and the weekend so far I've slipped but I refuse to see it as failure. Today will be better decisions.
Honestly don't be harsh on yourself as it's the way of feeling a failure and giving up altogether. It helps me to plan ahead and know what I'm having each evening as I make poor meal decisions if I'm tired.
I'm using my fitness pal and on a thread on here. Experience tells me I have to make sustainable changes for life, slip ups are part of life Smile
Good luck

op check out rebelfit on Facebook, they have some fantastic advice. Instead of the pressure of 'fresh start only good from now of no I've fucked it all up start again' cycle make small sustainable changes and better choices. So drink 2l of water a day. Easy and cheap change to make. Instead of choc bar for a snack try and have some fruit or veg. If you have less healthy food, don't spiral. Every single time you choose a better option, it's good for you. You don't need to choose perfectly every time to see results. Try smaller plates and put veg/salad on first then protein.

Be kind to yourself. Slow and steady wins the race.

I would try to do at least one thing everyday towards your goal. Then step it up according to progress. It might be, if eating a roast only having one roast potato when you usually have 3 or serving your pudding in a ramekin when you usually have a large bowl full or going on a long walk. Then you can just step it up when you get used to one level of doing this. Monitor weight and see what action makes a difference.

I lost 3 over the last couple of years. Started cutting down my food portions, took up running, got a FitBit. Entering the food into FitBit and having it monitor exercise and calories burnt I found really helps see how you are doing. Tweaking things with this informative makes everything a bit easier. I still go out to eat, have the occasional dessert and still drink alcohol. I just don't really overindulge. I feel happier this way.

Well if this isnt motivation I dont know what it - DH has just announced he has been looking at Spain for the end of August. Haven't been abroad since the kids were born.

I got weighed before I got dressed this morning 14st 3lb. 10st is my goal now (hopefully in time for the holiday).

You've not fucked up anything! Every day is a fresh start & a chance to do better. Don't be too hard on yourself - any change is difficult in the beginning x

3.5 stone to lose here! I started on Friday.

I'm low carbing and increasing exercise.

I go on holiday in 16 weeks and need to drop from a 16 to a 12 to fit into my lovely holiday clothes.

I'm spending January as a month of education and preparation and getting started in February instead.

Set yourself small goals to start with. Sort of 'lose half a stone by (realistic) date' rather than looking at the whole weight loss. Weigh yourself ONCE a week only. You can fluctuate daily and it doesn't help.

Still eat the things you like - just smaller portions or less of them.

I'm on day 7 of low carbing, it's bloody difficult at first and I'm in the full throws of Atkins Flu but it's weigh day tomorrow and I'm really hoping for a loss.

The hardest thing is starting.

@AmazingGreats A whole month? To do what exactly? I would stop making excuses and get stuck in!

That sounds weirdly like "I'm spending January putting it off so I can continue to eat what I please"

Just crack on. Doesn't take a month to educate and prepare. No one gives you a test at the end,,,

I've just spent three hours washing the walls and woodwork down in my hall. Ladder out and everything Grin

That's got to be better than stuffing my face.

@Nifflernancy

Well, I've started making minor changes already, like not getting any takeaways and upping my veg intake. I am hoping to do the fast 800 diet so am seeing GP next week to get the all clear and getting through the books. I've also been drinking more water and trying to get my sleep sorted out a bit, and have been making a concerted effort to take my vitamins. But I think the 2 week kick start (800 calories a day for two weeks) needs to be planned properly for when I can fully commit to it. Plus we have some leftover goodies that need eating or donating, so I need to deal with that too. I usually decide to go on a diet and start straight away, but inevitably fail because of my poor planning and because life gets in the way, so want to do it properly this time.
