Hi just needed some advice.. my eating habits are totally out of control. I am TTC and i need to lose about 30kg 🙁 i find this so hard. I tried a dietician through fertility clinic and she made me feel so crap about myself saying 'women who are TTC usually binge eat to fill a hole but that hole can only be filled with a baby and not food' so yeah that was really upsetting.
I usually eat carbs pasta pastrys etc. My diet is actually at its worst. Im 5ft2 and 95kg. BMI is 33 and if i have to have IVF i wont be able to.
I work long shifts and job is not very active.
Everytime i motivate myself, something happens which makes me stressed and i binge eat biscuits crips chocolates etc.
I have tried intermittant fasting which was good for me. But i stopped that not sure why. I have IBS so i find sticking to foods i no that wont trigger it off r better even if they are full of fat and sugar 😭 i have zero motivation, please help.
P.s currently living with in laws so MIL cooks all food, and she isnt the most health concious person either. Any advice would be very appreciated.

Are you getting enough sleep? If not, fix that first. Then decide you are going to change your habits.

I found it helps me to track weight, food and exercise and use the samsung health app to do that. Myfitness pal is also free.

I would cut out the worst habits first and start to exercise as much as you can just finding a gap in your schedule helps. It doesn't have to be much to begin with. It is taking away bad habits and replacing with good ones.

Also the first six weeks are hardest while you adjust and fix new healthy habits.

Also don't drink anything but water and basic tea and coffee. Everything else has sugar in.

A baby will add roughly 1.5-2 stone to your weight. At the weight you are now that would be dangerous. Ideally you want to be in the best shape possible for pregnancy and birth as it can be gruelling. I have been using my fitness pal to track calories and have seen a significant weight loss with this. I have also cut out bread and don’t eat much pasta etc anyway. I still eat pizza and cheese and will have the occasional alcoholic drink.

Can you fit a 20min brisk walk in once a day? This will help a lot.

Goodcat, i have my fitness pal, i should really start logging on there. I have downloaded a new app called noom, so far it seems really good, it tries to break bad habits and set some mini goals etc but it focuses more on psychological side which i think would benefit me.

Puds11 i will definatly need to fit that 20 min walk in. Perhaps during lunch break. I know im worried regarding putting more weight on whilst pregnant i dont want to add more issues that can be otherwise halted if i was a good healthy weight to start with.
I have decided to set really small goals and move up slowly.

Goodcat i get approx 8 hrs sleep a day, and i sleep well. Water intake is about 1.5 litres a day. I dont drink coffee or tea. If i do its black coffee no sugar etc. But end of the day sometimes i have cravings for fizzy drinks bad i know...

Small goals are the best way forward as you can see your achievements more quickly which Spurs you on. I calorie count on my fitness pal mon-Friday then don’t count at the weekend but try not to go overboard. With this approach I have lost 2.5 stone since August. I try to exercise, walking, running, swimming and gym, but have a baby so am struggling to be consistent with these at the moment.

I also crave fizzy drinks so either have soda water with juice in or the sugar free, caffeine free Diet Coke. Although I’ll probably cut this out soon.

Set yourself a goal of loosing 7lbs by end of jan and see how you get on. Download some music for your walks and Strava so you can check your progress and calorie burn.

Also eat foods high in protein as these fill you up for longer. I also use protein shakes if I’m struggling to get enough from diet alone but check the sugar content.
