Have others felt too large at 8 stone?

Just that really- I’m not very tall (5ft 3) and have a really small frame. Just wondered if others felt same and, if so, have you lowered your normal weight? Feel silly thinking about it but I have fair amounts of visible fat.

Not a gloat and not being mean to those at higher weight- accept I’m unusual and a very small build.

9 mins you gave people to answer, I think you might need to wait a little bit longer Hmm

Weight tells you nothing. If you are fat, you are fat.

I'm short, medium build, and currently my heaviest ever at 9 stone - I feel awful. So i can imagine that if you have a tiny frame you could definitely feel the same at 8 stone.

It is healthy to have some fat!

Do you do any weight bearing exercise?

Your weight is fine for your height but there's nothing stopping you from exercising if you're feeling a bit wobbly. Weight means nothing, a tape measure is a better guide.

Unless you have some sort of eating disorder then you probably should speak to your GP

Yup, me too. Same height, petite but with quite wide hips. Feel heavy and flabby when I weigh 8 stone or more. When I feel I'm too big, I cut out booze and any rubbish and up my activity- find hot power yoga particularly good for toning up.

I'm the same as @hollieberrie 9 stone to others seems low, to me being 5'3 and petite, it's big. I'm currently about 9.5 and I look and feel horrible. All bone and flabby tummy and no muscle. So to someone very slight 8 stone may feel big.

Off to read the Fast800 book again.

No, but I’m same height and 8.5 stone is the point where I have to take action so I can see why you might feel that. For me 8 stone is my perfect weight.

I’m a little shorter, 9 stone is my absolute cut off

Glad there are others that feel the same- must just be some weird build thing!

I am very short- only 5 foot, and at 8 stones I am not thin in any way!
My ideal is about 7st 8lbs, and I haven't been "thin" since I was a child. Heaviest I ever was was 10stone 8....and that was at 42weeks with DS who was 8lb11oz.
Some people are built on a smaller scale Smile

@sebashocked do you mind me asking what your ‘perfect’ weight is?

Glad it is not just me re the small build, perceived low weight but lots of flab!

I feel happy around 7 st 5. Below that I can look a bit a scrawny

5ft 1 here and my perfect weight is 7.13 give or take. I watch what I eat and hit the gym 4 to 5 times a week - cardio and weights. I do allow myself to go up to 8.3, but like the OP, I can feel the weight.

I love going to the gym and eating healthy most of the time so it's no hardship.

I'm 5 foot and felt chubby at 8 stone. Am around 7 5 at the moment and can still afford to be less. I exercise regularly and don't carry weight well at all.

I've finally got down to my goal weight of 'less than 9 stone' - 8 stone 13lbs exactly, and now I've read this thread and feel positively enormous

Yep, me. I realise I'm not like most people in that regard but at 8 stone my belly sticks out further than my boobs and my thighs start to bother each other. Much happier being a bit lighter.

I'm the same height as you, at 9 stone I felt slim but still curvy and a little comfortable. If I went any lower people said I looked ill. I was happy at 9 stone

Jeez ..I'm 5ft 3 and when I was 7 st 6lbs I was asked if I was anorexic and obvs I was..... and bulimic...I used to pass out on a regular basis and paramedics made a concern regarding me....

Well I'm definitely not unhealthy! Eat well, exercise, and am not thin.

I'm 4'11" and look pretty chunky at 8st. I look good at about 7st but have been about 7.5 for the past year, recently creeping up towards 8st. I have very little muscle and a horrible stomach which I can do very little about (c section overhang).

I also depends on where the weight is carried. If it around the middle , it does make you feel fatter. I am 5 feet and have big thighs and large breasts. I am happy if I weigh between 7 and 7:12. At the top end I feel uncomfortable, and look too skinny at the 7 stone mark.

Don’t go by weight, some people are more dense!
Do some really toning exercise like TRX, and go by what you’re clothes look like on you.
You have to be realistic. I’m naturally a solid build. I’d love to be lean as a greyhound but it’s never going to happen, the best I can be is toned with a flat tummy, so that’s what i I aim for.
