Thanks for the new thread Red! Everyone come and clock your losses for the inaugural Slenderista of the Month award!
As I weigh weekly, I've realised that doing the difference between the first weigh-in and the last weigh-in of the month means that every month, I'll lose a week's work (i.e. on this occasion I lost 1.1kg between August 30th and Sept 6th, which wouldn't be factored; and at the end of October I wouldn't be able to count anything I may lose this week), so with everyone's permission I'll always go from the last weigh-in of the previous month to the last weigh-in of the current month.
So I'll start us off at a total loss of 2.5kg, which I think is 5.5lbs Best month I've had in years, and certainly won't be repeated!
That is a brilliant result quim!
I've lost 3.5lb in September. Hopefully I can repeat that again this month!
I weigh daily so I went from the first weigh in to the last weigh in
Hello lovelies! I also weigh weekly so did the same @QuimReaper
3lb loss for me for September which I’m pleased with considering I had two heavy weekends away.
I’m on holiday (again ) 25th October so my target until then is 4lbs which will take me to 9 stone 5lbs and so close to my 2 stone target!
Good luck everyone
Morning all. Still coughing away here. Felt dreadful yesterday - no energy. Although thanks to my Dad’s genes still had an appetite! Managed to avoid breakfast and had soup for lunch and then had one slice of sourdough toast with honey as was still craving it. Dinner was spaghetti bolognaise. Then I hit a wall of tiredness and went straight to bed.
No loss for me in September. I gained! So for October I will go from yesterday’s weight and weight on 30 October.
Great loss for you Quim! Well done.
DH emptied the veg drawer yesterday and made a huge pot of soup. So that will keep me going for a few days. Although have friends over for dinner tonight. Might just do a soup diet from tomorrow till Saturday!
New thread
I've been a bit rubbish at posting this month but I'm still here and doing ok. I weighed in this morning at 11 1.8. That's a healthy BMI
My aim for the month is to get into the 10s.
Well done on the bmi kick!
Hope you feel better soon peridot, veg soup is always a winner.
I've been excellent food wise over the last two days. Slightly less good over the weekend as I went to a wedding but I smashed my steps on Saturday, Sunday and today (Monday was a rest day).
Think I'm going to see if I can do another 10k tomorrow but that depends on me finishing work early enough to fit it in before I pick DS2 up from nursery.
Quim you get my vote for slimmer of the month! A well deserved fantastic result for you and you are always so helpful and encouraging!
I like this Slenderista of the Month thing, kicking off with recounting our successes is a nice way to start the month. Fantastic on the loss sweet and the BMI milestone Kick! Peri I'm sure you'll see results once you're back to your fighting strength, and a huge vat of veg-packed soup sounds like just the ticket on both medicinal and diet fronts. That man's a keeper
Red let's wait until the others clock in, although I am blushing at getting your honorary badge
Last night I got in and MrQuim was eating, and then wasn't hungry enough for dinner So an unscheduled fast day for me! Hope it pays off...!
Hello! No time to stop and chat now but wanted to get my arse onto the new thread. For which I say thank you to Red
Hi all, I am new to this group discussions. M from India with very small circle of friends and a recent mom of 2 wonderful kids. M here to seek some motivation, more importantly people of my age group, to discuss on weight loss and feel that I am not alone in this slimming process. Am about to start weight loss journey soon through vrk diet program(don't bother, it's familiar only in South India) . Will keep you posted
Welcome Armaan. Good luck with it!
I’m still coughing. Fed up now.
Hello Armaan, welcome! We're doing all sorts of different diets here so don't worry about following a plan we won't be familiar with. I'm intrigued though, I'd love to hear about it!
Peri I am not at all surprised, having a cough is exhausting, not least because it always has me waking up all through the night!
I managed 25K steps yesterday to counter the rubbish day I had on Tuesday on account of the rain, so my weekly average should be acceptable, if nothing remarkable. It's so bloody cold today though, I'm hoping sitting here with goosebumps shivering my arse off is burning extra calories!
Cautiously optimistic for tomorrow's weigh-in
Hi aarman good luck with shedding the extra lbs.
Food has been ok today. Have run 7k a day the last three days so feeling very smug!
Welcome armaan. I'd love to hear about your plan. It's always good to hear new ideas.
I'm back up to 11 2.6 That might be under a lb gained but now I'm overweight again !!.
I'm not doing much about it this week because I'm preparing for a trail run on Saturday. It's ok to start carb loading a week before isn't it?!
Quim well done on your steps. I'm having major problems with the fitbit app. It keeps crashing and I'm not getting notifications. It had better record my steps on Saturday or I will be most upset.
Peri I hope you feel better soon
Kick if you are on iphone and upgraded to iOs 13 then FitBit hav said they are having an issue but it's easily fixable (Just a few settings). There's full instructions here.
And morning! I have been golden this week (<1200 cals a day), been to the gym, no booze (sober October) and yet I am 3lbs heavier than last weekend. I am so so cross and disappointed
Red shhhh about your runs. I'm missing running so much but obviously a non no with a broken ankle. I did spin last night though to burn some calories but I couldn't stand up on the bike
Brilliant results Quim. You are on fire!
Peri get well soon. Coughs suck
And welcome Armaan - I too would love to hear about your diet!
Thanks boop. I'm on android but the app has updated and that's when the problems started. I probably need to uninstall it and start again. Not sure when I'll have time.
Today has been a picky food day which is not great really. I've been at home with the kids and I find it so hard to not graze all day.
Nothing exciting planned for the weekend though so I won't let one food filled day ruin it all.
Welcome @Armaan
Hope you’re feeling better @Peridot1
Hello @RedLipsAndRosyCheeks
I’ve somehow managed to lose 2lbs this week . Step count has been dreadful last couple of weeks and haven’t managed any running.
Feeling a bit rubbish today. I’ve lost 17lbs now (since June) which I know is great but I still feel so fat 😫. Despite buying a new tracksuit in Nike size XS (think it must come up big!) I’m still 6lbs away from being in the very top of my ‘healthy’ weight range. I know I’ll get there but I’m finding it hard now.
Have a lovely weekend everyone xx
Suchsweet my bmi is 25.9 now so still outside the healthy range. I'm finding every lb hard at the moment. I've really stepped up the exercise over the last two months which has helped though. My waist is finally coming back and my horrific belly pouch (two fat pregnancies, two big babies and two sections are to blame) is now starting to shrink.
I never thought I'd be saying this but exercise really does help. It's taken me a very long time to enjoy it though!
Suchsweet that is amazing and you should really be proud of yourself. You'll get there but it does get harder. I like to think of losses as a % of how much I am overweight. For example the top of my normal BMI is 11 2 so when I'm 11 4 and I lose 1lb I've lost 50% of it 🤣.
It does get so much harder. 1lb when you are a stone overweight is so much easier to lose than when you are 1lb overweight but keep going and you'll get there.
I am feeling very smug today. I did a 15k trail race in the lakes. I wanted to go under 2hrs and I did it in 1.59.10 .
I've eaten my calorie allowance for a week but I don't care
Good work kick!
Getting a takeaway not a regular occurrence these days sod it. A girls got to live sometimes!
