Anyone else getting their shit together in October?

I've had a really rubbish few months. I've yo-yo-Ed around on the diet, really good weeks, terrible weekends.
I've lost and gained the same 5lbs about 6 times
I need more sleep
I need less wine
I need to actually stick to the diet which i know works for me
I run loads but I don't look after myself properly and I am getting aches, pains and injuries
I have a interview on Friday for my first work in 4.5 years

I need to get my shit together in October! Anyone with me?

Starting Tuesday:
Cal counting and cut the carbs
Go to bed before 10pm
drink more water, less coffee, and no wine
Take my vitamins
Keep up my running and circuits (I have a race on Sunday) but do some stretching to sort my injuries out

Loads of other stuff as well, but that's a good start!

I have to.
I really do.
I’ve completely stopped exercising so this week I’m going to at least use the treadmill every night - just to get started.
Am in!

Hi flurgle. Glad it's not just me! I do exercise a lot but then I eat back the calories in rubbish so it's not helping me much.
It's dh's birthday today so we are going out for lunch but I'm determined to choose wisely and not have dessert. I dread the thoughtful the scales tomorrow!

I'd like to try as well. Have lost the same 3lbs over and over in the summer and need to get in a dress I already own for an event in 3 weeks as I really can't buy another one! Am going to 5:2 again as it worked last time and have started exercising again when term started: but it doesn't burn as much as I think!!

Run done! Need to get back on MFP too so I know my 2 days are 500 calories!

I've done my run too. What do you do on your 500 cal fast days toomuchfaster? I have never done 5:2 (pretty much the only diet I haven't tried at some point) but I do do the blood sugar diet which has a fasting element. Do you eat small all through the day, or do you have 1 big meal?

I have 2 meals, leave breakfast as late as possible and then dinner. I aim for 200 cals at each and leave myself 100 cals spare to go over!! I find it fits the best around DH and DD.

That sounds good. I have wondered whether to try to incorporate a few proper fasting days into my week, I might try. More as a 'reset' than as a long term thing. Over the summer I have forgotten how to fast, how not to graze.

I'm really looking forward to tomorrow, I feel so unhealthy right now. I'm going to hide the scales after I weigh in, at least for a week or two, and really focus on my food and making healthier choices rather than the minute fluctuations of the scales.

Good luck everyone!

Yes! Me!

Have also lost the same 6 lbs over the last 6 months about 6 times.

Also run and then spoil it all by eating all my exercise cals.

See you in the morning for a weigh in

Me.

I too have got on and fallen off the same diet wagon over the last few months. I've lost weight before, I know how to do it I just can't seem to stick to it 🙄.

However after tanking the wine/alcohol like it's going out of fashion and piling on the pounds, I'm ready to tackle this. I start a new job this week and have a wedding coming up in 3 weeks so it's no more excuses.

I need to cut the wine out, introduce exercise and cut down massively on carbs as that works for me.

Haven’t run for nearly a year....total parks half marathon was my last run

And I’m in the ballot for London marathon so I’ve got running on my mind.... might restart c25k, could see if there’s a thread to hop on

I need to lose the weight now. It’s ridiculous. I’m in an active job so should use it to my advantage, I’m always so knackered I just eat rubbish

Tomorrow I’m trying to re set my eating

@supercee yes it's definitely the wine for me. I don't even really drink that much (maybe 1-2 bottles a week, only at weekends) but it seems to just destroy my willpower. I'm really hoping for a dry October!

@MemphisMum I did a half in April and I was at the top of my game, felt amazing. I was just saying to Dh today that I reckon my km pace for the 10k I'm doing on Sunday will be slower than my half, despite rigorous training and running 5x a week- and that's all down to my food and wine intake being off the scale!

@flowerycurtain yep, I'm in for the scales of doom and then I'm all positive thinking all the way!! There's no point dwelling on it and comparing to last month, and no point berating myself for my sins.

Morning all. Right. I'm 10st 8lbs today.

I am going to be 9st 10 by xmas. So 12lbs to lose. I'm going to aim for 7 in October and 5 in November.

Today is a work day for me so I don't get a chance to do much exercise. Will try and get out for a walk to get 10k steps in. Food aims are:
B - all bran, Greek yoghurt.
L - soup
T - chilli and rice

Evening snacking and eating out are my downfalls.

Right. I am 11stone, heaviest I've been in 18 months Sad
Today is my first fast day, not a good start as DD had me up at 5.45!
Good luck to us all!

I am 10.11.5 this morning, also pretty much the heaviest I've been although I have bounced around to this and back down to 10.3 all summer. I'm aiming for 10.3 again although I'd actually like to get to 9.13 (for vanity reasons) by Christmas!

One day at a time though! Today I'm going to fast this morning, go for a quick run, and go to the supermarket. Meals will be egg for lunch probably with avocado, and dinner will be lamb spicy mince and veg. I go to a circuits class tonight for an hour as well, so a busy day!

I'm hiding the scales now to prevent myself from daily weigh ins.

The next low carb Bootcamp starts on 14 October if that's any help to anyone?

Report
supercee · 01/10/2019 16:24

Forgot to weigh myself and didn't prep for first day in new job so only had a black coffee and turkey and cranberry bagel (low carbs out the window). Will have a protein only dinner and start properly tomorrow!

I've had a good day today- fasted til lunch then I had leftover mushroom
Chilli with a hard boiled egg and avocado, then dinner was lamb mince and veg. I've had 2 sausages as snacks. I've been for a run, done 16k steps, and I'm going to hiit/circuits this evening. I probably haven't drink enough water so I'm going to try and get a few bottles down me this evening.

Tomorrow, I'm planning more of the same except no run as I'm tapering down this week for my race. I am planning a mammoth 5 hour cleaning blitz instead though, this house is grim! I've already boiled some eggs for snacks and made a sugar free soy milk jelly for a sweet treat tomorrow if I want it.

Hope everyone's had a good day

@BIWI I'm always tempted by bootcamp but I really really struggle with the no cal counting as I just never lose my appetite even with low carbs- I can eat far far too much. I don't eat dairy either so I struggle to get the ratios right for ketosis and it seems to work better for me to have a daily calorie limit and aim for 25-50g carbs a day.

Wow newesvebear that's a ton of exercise in one day!

I went for a walk at lunch so got my 10k steps in. I've stuck to my meal plan and had a good snack this evening - bear yo yo and a cereal bar.

Have been invited to a posh lunch on November 30th so I reckon that's a good tArgrt for me that's 60 days away.

Day 1/60 complete.
