Is it possible?

To go from a size 18, sometimes 20, back down to an 8/10 without massive amounts of saggy skin?

The weight has gone on in about 11 years but I was most happy in an 8/10 and would love to get back there. Have recently joined a gym and will start WW too.

I appreciate it would take time, hard work and dedication. All of which I have now Smile

Is it possible? Yes.

Hydration, not-smoking, good diet, exercise, massage etc might make minimal differences, but basically skin recovery after weight-loss boils down to two factors - age and genetics. Youth is obviously favourable, but good genes are king.

So basically, you might have great genes and be lucky enough to lose 100lb and end up looking like you were never over-weight, or you might lose 50lb and be left looking distinctly baggy. It just isn't really predictable - or fair!

Good luck with the shrinking.

Yes. As above.

Age and skin condition is key.

When I was 30 I lost 3 stones quite quickly. From a good post natal 16 down to a 10.

I had no wobbly areas at all. But I was younger.

When I lose weight now, 20 years later, there seems to be a bit more loose skin for longer.

Yep. I went from a 20 to an 8 during my mid to late 40s (gradual process). I'm nice and taut Blush

I’m early 30s. Got a flat tummy again after my eldest was born but I was only 20. I’m going to aim for 1-2lbs a week off and hope that works in my favour at keeping no sagging skin. I had a friend that lost 7 stone in 6 months and her skin is so stretched. But like she says, stretched skin is better than being obese

The best way is to lose it SLOWLY, not go on a crash diet. Just eat much better, healthy food (low car and low sugar) lots of salads (with olive oil and lemon, not mayonnaise! and fruit on an empty stomach and eat mindfully and really slowly tasting and enjoying the food , not in front of a screen or standing up Grin that's the key to keeping it off too.

Give up a few things , pork and pork products, high sugar fizzy drinks (even 'diet' ones) and alcohol . Also cut down on caffinated drinks like teas and coffee if you OD on them. The weight will go I Promise!!!!

Oh and drink loads of water and have herbal teas all the time! By low carb I mean eat whole foods but not wheat , I find I can keep off the weight by eating a couple of slices of pure rye or spelt toast also whole rice, quinoa etc.
