Link to previous thread here: Half a stone (or 3kg) off for August!! http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/3652424-half-a-stone-or-3kg-off-for-august

Morning all! Welcome to the half a stone loss challenge for September. All are welcome whatever plan or method you are following. I'm mainly following ww online with some intermittent fasting thrown in for good measure!

All I ask is that we continue the uplifting positivity and support seen on previous threads! We cheerlead each other, celebrate success and support through the harder times.

We had a great month in August with lots of losses. I don't know about you lot but the longer this goes on the more it feels like a way of life for me now rather than "being on a diet"?

Stats for me are:
Starting weight: 19st 13
Loss for August: 14lbs
Loss for 2019: 5 st 3lbs
Target for September: 10lbs off

Ready for September??

❤️❤️

I’m in! I had a little break over the Summer holidays, but am now ready to get going again.

I’m not sure about my starting weight as I haven’t weighed for weeks and won’t be able to do so until Monday, so will post then.

I’m kind of looking forward to getting back on track. It was fun to be a bit less restrictive for a few weeks, but if I’m totally honest with myself I have to admit that I felt a lot better when sticking to a diet. More energy, fewer headaches, less IBS symptoms. I’m ready to do this again 👊

cricket you are doing so well, 5 stone+ this year is phenomenal.
I'll weigh myself again tomorrow to get a starting point for Sept. Stats so far are 5lb lost in Aug, 1st 8lb lost so far since May. I seem to do 4-5lbs now a month so would be happy with that again in september.

Checking in and here are my stats:

Stats for me are:
Starting weight: 75.1kg
Loss for August: 1.1kg
Loss for 2019: 6.9kg
Target for September: 1.5kg

I’m still thinking that target is too high, I need to accept my weight loss is very very slow.

Lovely new thread - thanks Cricket!
Reasonably happy to have ended August on 70.8 kg - not my absolute lowest in August but only 1 kg off! I blame that on wine!
So, my immediate target is 68kg and ideally I'll get to 66 kg by the end of October. It doesn't sound a lot but without the support on these threads I'd have been heading in totally the wrong direction!
Went to yoga this morning and running planned for tomorrow.
B:Yogurt with chia/flax seeds
L: pretend bacon in wholemeal roll with mushrooms and spinach.
D: pasta

My loss in August at the final check is 1.1kg. Less than hoped, but going in the right direction! Target for September is to get another 1.5kg off - hopefully if I keep it achievable I will stay motivated! I’m not restricting calories today as racing a half marathon tomorrow so I want to have plenty of energy, but will try to eat well. Happy Saturday everyone!

Can I join? I am on holiday at the moment so not a great time to start but will post in a few days. In the meantime - following!

Well done cricket 👏👏👏👏

I’m now 15lb down overall. I stiff on the scale this morning and another pound down. I think in the last 6 weeks I’ve lost about 12lb which is crazy. I’ve another 13lb to go to get to my smallest weight I can remember being as an adult. I feel weirdly determined. Helped by my wish to get married soon and wear a cinched in dress like this ♥️♥️♥️♥️🤣

Love the dress ! My downfall is biscuits. Everytime I have a cup of tea I have 2 or 3 biscuits. Confused My new rule is 1 biscuit - should be zero but I don't have that much willpower.

I've signed up to the Elite transform 20 pound challenge but doesn't start until September 14th...but I reckon I'll get half a stone off in the first two weeks as it's so strict and no wine...my body may well go into shock!

Got about 2 stone to lose so if I can get most of that off in the 6 week challenge I can work to be target weight by Christmas!

Might buy a new dress as thinspiration!

Been doing couch to 5k too and signed up for 10k in feb to keep motivated!

Hi can I join you? Have just got back from holiday and currently weigh 11st9 which is about 2st too much as I'm pretty short! So 7lbs off in Sept would be great! My gym membership is currently suspended due to being away but reactivates on 11th Sept so will start c25k then, but am hoping to be under 11st7 before then.

LooseAtTheSeams · 31/08/2019 17:10

That dress looks lovely! Can highly recommend C25K - especially because you can repeat a week if you need to!

I love that dress! Marking place for tomorrow. Good luck with the half Holly, and thank you Cricket!

Can I join please ladies? Raring to go, not following a plan as such just sticking to three meals and two snacks a day focusing on protein and also exercising as much as I can. Ideally want to get a stone off in SeptemberSmile

Can I please join you all? Smile

I'm going on holiday at the end of November and ideally would like to have dropped a dress size or two before then!

I’m in!

I lost around 5lbs June-July ready for a holiday and documented it on one of these threads but I’ve been back from said holiday for ...4 weeks now and I’m still eating like I’m on holiday!!
DP is a professional athlete who begins training again on Monday so I’m hoping his exercising and strict diet will rub off on me...

Will be sticking to 1,400 cals + gym 3-5 times a week.

Stats for me are:
Starting weight: 9st 10lbs
Target for September: 5 lbs off
Target overall: 8st 10lbs

Good luck everyone! We can do it! Smile

Hey all - may I join? First of September tomorrow, going into a keto diet I know works as I've done it before: got 80 days to lose a load of weight.

Too scared to weigh in at the moment, but I'll try my best to stand on the scales over the next few days. Been indulging for too long. The results on the scales will come as a shock to be perfectly honest.

Good luck all! Thanks

May I join in? Won't know stats until I get home (away for a rare weekend!) but I could really do with the support.

I know exactly what I need to do but had a pregnancy and subsequent miscarriage over summer and have just lost my mojo re exercise and food. Logging on MFP, sticking to a 1300-1400kcal target and making the time for exercise 3-4 times a week will shift the weight but I haven't managed to get into the right headspace for the past couple of months and have piled it on. Here's to waving goodbye to it again before Christmas!

I'm so impressed by all the motivation that people have shown on this thread.
I was doing great - then an AI holiday and generally being completely out of routine and making time to see lots of people I normally don't (usually over lunch) while not being at work has meant that although I've been fine with fitting in the new gym membership - I've lost nothing! In fact I'm probably a few lb up still after the holiday.

So come Monday I'm back to my job in school, back to hitting the gym more regularly and perhaps finding a class or two to go to too and back to salads for lunch and meal planning sensible dinners. And banning the chocolate and snacks.

(Hangs head in shame)

Hello, I'd like to join too! I'm 60kgs and would like to loose 5kgs before Xmas. I'm quite short and petite build so the extra kgs really show. My ideal weight would be about 50kgs, but I doubt I'll ever reach that to be honest..

I’d love to join in please.
I’m 13 stone which is my personal heaviest.
No weight loss in August.
I’m a teacher and it’s the free school breakfast and lunch that kills me, so I’m going to start taking my own food next week!
Do we weigh in daily or weekly?
Good luck everyone

May I join too, I keep toying with getting back on a diet but keep making excuses...I don't want to divulge my weight but I have a LOT to lose but breaking it down to a small loss over a month is a great way of doing it... well done OP on weight loss so far Grin

Hello! Finally joined mumsnet after years of seeing public posts in searches.

I'd like to lose 7lbs or 3Kg in September too buy realistically I'll aim for 5lbs for September @1lb/week.

Been a member of renamed WW on and off since 10 years lol..so no matter how many times they re work the points etc based on protein or saturated fats or sugar..I always struggle to maintain.

And the new system of so called 'free foods' (ie healthy clean foods fruits and veg, lean meats etc) doesn't help me personally lose weight if I'm over my points (calories) for the day so am losing weight much slower. I feel one has to be in calorie deficit to lose weight whether eating junk food or healthy obviously better to eat healthier. So I combine WW with MFP and HFP apps and combination of IF fasting or fasting seasonally once a year (always feel light n great then!)

My weakness is sweet things ( I can't just have 1 or 2 chocolate biscuits!) so undo healthy meals and activity ( naturally active or planned gym type) in seconds!

Good luck everyone!
