Anyone care to join me?

I need to lose weight - about 2.5st - but my main goal is just to be healthier by making better choices and maintaining healthy habits.

I'm getting organised today and Day 1 is tomorrow, small steps lead to big things :o

Hi, can I join! I need to lose 4 stones and I’ve had enough. The amount of head space I give my diet I should be 7 stone now! But sadly I’m not. But from today that’s it. I’m relatively fit, so it will be a case of upping exercise and massively cutting down on calories in. What’s your plan OP?

Morning Jomalaldi, nice to have someone to talk to :o

I'm relatively fit as I walk everywhere - atleast 3 miles a day - but I want to start building in some regular exercise too. Looking into some homework outs today.

Food wise I need to focus more on 3 balanced meals and cut the crap in between - crisps are my absolute downfall! I don't want to calorie count or stick to a plan as I've learnt from experience that I can't sustain those, just moderate myself and be sensible really and PLANNING is key for me!

Another thing I NEED to kick is smoking... I'm an ex-smoker but slip back into it when I'm around alcohol and I've noticed recently the cravings are creeping in during the week. Not quite sure how I'm going to tackle it but I'll give it a go as I hate it really.

Weird, I’ve slipped into the odd fag (or ten) as soon as the wine bottle is opened. My plan is calorie count, starting at 1500 per day. Absolutely not a drop of alcohol as this is my downfall. Not just the wine, but the crisps/nuts/Fags which accompany it! Also then the carbs I need the next day! Tonight it’s home made chicken Cesar salad, and tomorrow main meal is quiche and salad.

I will join you! Day 1 on WW online for me tomorrow. Just got back from yet another holiday not being comfortable in my own skin. Also have a house that needs sorting as well as the weight that needs to go! I have about 4 stone to get rid of.

Il join I've put 2.5 stone on since Christmas . Oh dear . I want to lose about 3.5 stone

thewinkingprawn · 25/08/2019 23:40

I’ll join - I have 5.5 stone to lose so a long way to go. I need to cut the crap between meals and give up sugar entirely - there’s no half way with me - am a complete addict. Also try to give up refined carbs.

Morning all - I just wrote a massive post then hit refresh by accident. Great start 🙄😂

Basically - the more motivators the better so feel free to jump on board!

My plan is to:
Portion control - smaller plate more veg
Less/no snacks - fruit if I'm struggling
Atleast 15 minutes focussed exercise to start
Be organised and plan ahead

I'll probably use this as a sounding board and diary I guess, need you guys to give me a kick up the arse every now and then if I'm losing sight of the end goal!

We can do this - every little helps whether it's eating, sorting houses, exercise or just making time for ourselves to relax. It's all working towards a healthier mind and body. Good luck all :o

I'm around day 12 or 13 of this kind of thing. My diet had gone haywire. I've been eating healthily and counting calories. I'm not being strict. I'm after an overall lifestyle change as well. I find these boards helpful reminders/motivators.

I'm aiming for about 1500 a day but I'm averaging that over the week so that I have room for meals out. For snakes I've started keeping cherry tomatoes in the fridge. 10 equal about 30 calories.

I'm in - no crap for me, no snacking and maybe a bit of fasting. I would like to lose a couple of stone. Plus getting back into cycling to work and the odd run or swim. New term, new me Smile

I’m in!

I need to lose 4 stone. I have a 5 week bf baby so can’t ‘diet’ but I need to eat more healthy and not eat a packet of biscuits a night when feeding.

I’m going to;

  • stop the unhealthy snacks
  • have 7 portions of veg and fruit a day
  • take my vitamins every day
  • do my physio every day
  • drink more water
  • soon I will add in some exercise, will have to do the school run for the first time.

I'm in!
I'm struggling with my weight post DC2 and want to lose the spare 59lbs that I'm carrying!
No particular plan as such, just cutting out junk food and biscuits (my current downfall) and starting some reasonable daily exercise.
I'm hoping to look a bit slimmer by Christmas!

Starting tomorrow here! I think I'm about 142lbs. Need to lose about 10 then reassess.

I'm aiming for around 1500 calories and 40/40/20 percentages for my macros - protein/fat/carbs. I have a Fitbit so will use that and use the calorie tracker with it.

I walk everywhere and do workout 2-3 times a week. I rarely drink. My downfall is ice cream, cheese and my portions are too big. We already eat pretty healthy so just need to make some tweaks. I tracked a few days last week to pinpoint where I'm going wrong which did identify how much cheese I was eating!

For context I'm 4'10"... I'm hoping I can get a decent calorie deficit but slow and steady wins the race!

I’m in!

I go back to work tomorrow after 6 weeks off, so definitely the right time to get into a better routine.

I drink way too much wine, so I’m knocking it on the head completely until Christmas (I’ll allow myself a couple of drinks then).

I’m going to kick start with a juicing only diet from Weds (can’t get to the shops to stock up on fruit and veg until after work tomorrow). I don’t usually go for this kind of faddy thing but I feel like I need 3-5 days of completely cutting out anything remotely stodgy.

I’m planning to eat low carb and control my portion sizes from next weekend. This has worked before for me and I actually enjoy eating this way. It's alcohol which sabotages me, as once I hit the wine I want to eat shit.

I have 2 stone to lose and would be delighted to get that off by Christmas.

I weigh 13.5 stone, btw. Goal weight is 11.5.
I’m struggling to get into my size 14s, but was a size 12 until last year, and have so many nice dresses I’d lie to be able to wear again.

@SquintEastwood can I join you too?

I will be starting tomorrow, I have a couple of stones to lose, I'm guessing that I am currently around 11.5 stone but I will weigh in tomorrow morning and report back.

@AlRehab I've done juice fasting in the past and after 24 hours found it pretty easy.... although you might struggle at work. Might be better to start at a weekend when you don't have to think. Do not try to exercise. If you are going to be out of the house then prepare ALOT of juice. I found it was easier if I was at home as I could just go make more juice. I've done it twice - first time felt great and lasted about 7 days and second time didn't agree with me, think i did 3-4 days.

I'm going to lurk. I've stopped weighting myself but need to lose weight I've put on over the summer.
I have Lupus and have need to go on steroids during a flare up so my weight is up and down. The summer weight gain was all food though Grin.
I'm hoping to start walking more while my joints aren't so sore and maybe take up swimming again.
I feel like I need to get stronger and fitter iyswim?

RosieposiePuddingandPi · 26/08/2019 18:55

Coco I totally get what you mean with wanting to be stronger and fitter. I've lost all my strength through being pregnant twice with bad depression in between and I miss my old strong body.

I'm hoping for 2 stone by Christmas too AIRehab but it means about 2 pounds a week so I'm not sure how well I'll do with that!

Today:
59 lbs to go
B: 2 weetabix with milk, 1 coffee
S: coffee in the car for energy!
L: half a cheese and pickle sandwich, a flat peach, popcorn bar (picnic in the sunshine)
S: small pb&j sandwich Confused
D: chicken traybake - chicken thighs, baby potatoes, peppers, courgette, onion and olive oil bunged in the oven for an hour Grin

I've also drunk about 800 litres of water from being out at a very hot visitor attraction today so at least I'm well hydrated!

This is the worst bit of the day for me going mad and eating rubbish so I'm going to try and stick to water for the rest of the day!

Report
thewinkingprawn · 26/08/2019 18:57

B: nothing
L: cheese salad
D: bbq - chicken, burger, halloumi fries and salad

Ooh forgot to say 67 pounds to go!

I'm in!

Currently weigh 189 lb (BMI "obese") aiming to get to 154 (BMI healthy)

I'm also hypothyroid and peri menopausal Confused

Tried loads of diets / lifestyles / "ways of eating" in the past including SW, WW, Keto, Team RH. All failed.

New plan is to Just. Eat. Half. So 3 meals and 2 snacks a day, no weighing or counting calories but just halve my ginormous portions.

No days off as I could literally find an excuse every day (someone's party / tired / stressed / ill / it's a weekend / the day's got a Y in it)

10k steps a day

Weights at the gym (kettle bell classes) 5 days a week.

We can do this!!

Report
wherehavealltheflowersgone · 26/08/2019 19:22

So 35lb to go for me. If I do 1lb a week I'll get there by next Easter 🐣
