My tummy is rumbling and I can't sleep. This is what I ate/drank today, does it sound ok?
2 black coffees
2 egg omelette with processed cheese slice, cooked in frylight with 2 slices of ham and 4 cherry tomatoes
Half a banana
Small bowl rice crispies with semiskimmed milk
Low fat crisps
Homemade cottage pie cooked in fry light
2 glasses of lime cordial and fizzy water

I'd say you need to drink more water. That's not a lot of fluids for a whole day. The 'of you feel hungry, drink a glass of water first' adage is useful/true!

I think there’s a meal missing? Not enough carbs to keep you going I’d say. Have a jacket potato for lunch

I’d go and eat something. I couldn’t sleep if I was really hungry.

I agree!

You need more fibre. I'd add a massive salad or boiled carrots, peas and broccoli with the shepherd's pie. Also, I find processed foods like low cat crisps make me howl for another ten bags of them whereas freshly prepared food doesn't.

A jacket potato/carbs isn't what I'd advise. Go for some protein to fill you up. Potatoes won't help you lose weight.

How about peanut butter and apple, or a handful of cashews and some cheese?

Why did you have rice crispies for lunch? I'm starving 30 mins after eating them! I would have something much more substantial at lunch and ditch the cereal and crisps.

You've hardly had any water especially given the coffee and booze. And there's hardly any veg either.....

And in the omelet I wouldn't have processed cheese or ham which is also processed - could you try with more veg in it?

Good advice, more water and veg! Thanks

There is water in both coffee and booze.

Alcohol causes a blood sugar spike & crash so that's probably why you're feeling hungry right now. Beer munchies...

No-body drinks 7 pints of beer and says great I've hit my water quota for today!

What I mean is coffee and alcohol can be dehydrating so if you drink them you should drink extra water... that's hardly controversial

Sugary cereal, sugary booze and processed cheese?! Low-fat crisps??

Meant as gently as possible, but I suggest eating real food - fruit, veg, full fat protein - would fill you up and also help you lose weight.

Filling yourself with crappy food and booze is going to make you feel dreadful, and hungry. I've been there - after various faddy diets (slimming world etc) I lost the weight and kept it off through the magical formula of eating proper food, in sensible portions, and exercising. That means no Fry Light, no booze and no crisps...!!

Lose the cereal, have porridge instead. And add a large salad to your omelette.

Plus more protein

Not a single vegetable? You won’t be pooing anytime soon.

Remember your five a day.

I’m trying to eat more healthily, so in a Day I eat:

Breakfast: egg salad wrap and fruit

Lunch: lentil and veg curry and rice

Dinner: Veg stir fried noodles with tofu

Snack is a banana and trail mix

It probably sounds a bit boring and crap, but I feel like I have so much more energy and I’m definitely pooping. Grin

I do drink around three cups of tea a day, but rest is water. And I do have to occasional biscuit. Maybe 2 a day.

I never feel like cereal give you much bang for your buck. I always feel hungry after cereal.

I started the 5:2 diet yesterday. My fast day consisted of porridge and berries, a boiled egg and a cottage cheese and peach salad. It was 500 calories in total but I only felt mildly hungry during the day and managed to get to sleep ok. I have woken early quite hungry not no more so than usual. I think the key is eating the right food for maximum fillingness. Ditch the rice crispies, crisps and prosecco and eat more fruit, veg and protein.

Sorry, I know my diet is not perfect by the way, but what I am trying to say is that I also think you need real food and proper meals. Lots of veg, some carbs, some protein, a little fat. A balanced meal will keep you fuller for longer.

No, it’s incorrect. Coffee and booze aren’t as hydrating as pure water but it’s a myth that they make you dehydrated.

Ignore the booze bit. Sleep deprived. I just mean coffee, not alcohol.

Alcohol crisps and sugary cereal are not a diet that encourages weight loss you have eaten lots of high calorie foid/drink and very little low calorie fruit veg and carbs. Your protein intake looks fine so if you are hungry swop the crap for real food.

@Runningonempty84 what's wrong with Frylight? What do you cook your food in?
