Start using Mumsnet PremiumHelp! Don't want to go on holiday looking like this
(4 Posts)I’ll second the Jason Vale juice detox. Have lost about 8lbs in 12 days.
Cambridge or any of the other VLCD will give you a drastic weight loss quickly. First few days are a bit hellish but it's OK after that.
I’ve had friends that have done something like the Jason Vale detox juice for 5 days and have lost about half a stone. It’s a LOT of prep, chopping and juicing endless fruit and veg but it’s also good for a short time for your body to get out lots of toxins etc. The other obvious thing is to drink no booze and throw away all biscuits/crisps etc.
I'm supposed to be going on a holiday in 5 weeks' time with some friends, but I don't want to go at the moment because I've let myself get really fat and I'm basically ashamed of how I look. Especially as my friends are all slim and I'm tired of always being the hideous blubbery one who tries to avoid being photographed.
I would like to lose a stone, more if possible and tbh I'll still have some more to lose afterwards. I don't really care how I do it or if it's sustainable, I'll go back to Weight Watchers or something when I get back from holiday, but I just need to get some off to start with so I don't feel so ugly next to my friends.
What really works for fast weight loss over a relatively short time? I'm 40 and have some health issues that mean I can't do high impact exercise. I'm also going through the menopause, just to add to it all!
