Why has my weight loss plateaued?

I started logging what I was eating on MFP mid January and ate 1200 or less most days. Weight loss was steady and I lost a pound or two most weeks - all good.

Now though, for the last 2 or 3 weeks I've lost a pound, gained it back, lost it again, and I'm not really getting anywhere despite eating similarly to before.

I started C25k 4 weeks ago too, not sure if this is relevant.

What's going on? This is my graph from MFP

I'm 5'4", started off at 10 stone, now 9 stone 4. Would love to get to 9 stone or just under. I have a sedentary desk job but I'm in wk5 of C25K so do that 3 times a week.

It could be that you’re not losing weight because you’re gaining muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat so exercise can result in a small weight gain.

I’d suggest keeping an eye on your waist measurement as well as your weight. That’s often a better indicator of what’s going on.

As you've lost weight the number of calories you need reduces so You've lost weight to the point where you are actually now eating maintenance calories not at a deficit?

Due your period or depo injection?

Muscle does weigh more than fat. But you dont put on a pound of muscle, or more in a week.

It could be that the muscles are holding water. Do you drink plenty of water as this helps water retention.

What's you bmi? Weight loss does often slow down.

Have you reviewed your calories recently?

BMI is 22.2 according to NHS calculator. Ok, but hardly underweight so I'd like to think I could lose a bit more.

Maybe I am at a maintenance stage, who knows? I'll track everything really closely next week, make sure I'm drinking enough and see what gap-pens. Maybe 1000 calories a day would be better than 1200.

It's harder to stay motivated when I'm not seeing the results on the scales though.

Thanks all.

Make sure you drink enough water as well.

Being at the lower end of BMI means it will come off slower
