Finding the enthusiasm?

I need to shift some weight. I have done it before and kept it off until I fell pregnant with dd. Now I am back to the same weight. Last time I was driven and motivated to shift the weight and enjoyed meal planning and exercise.
Now I just feel a bit meh about it. I don’t want to like on salad and fruit. I want cake and chips!
But I can’t carry on like this. I am not huge but I am not happy.
Exercise is difficult as dh works away and there is no one to have Dd mid week.

Does anyone have any tips to get me motivated and help me to find the enthusiasm again?

Just realised how very self pitying that oat sounds. I genuinely am not. I just need a kick up the arse! Smile

Ugh, I get it! I can't give you exact tips or exercises, but I do know of this article that I just found to help me get motivated again. healthylivinglivingwell.wordpress.com/.../ad-just/

I think that we don't have to give up stuff so much as slowly integrate exercise and other stuff into our lives. I've also heard about some red tea drink that can help too. I'm thinking of trying it, but not sure. Maybe this will help you though! Here's the tea I'm talking about: healthylivinglivingwell.wordpress.com/2019/02/25/free-detox-guide/

Anyway, good luck to you on getting that weight off.

Start off slow and everything else just falls into place.
First week just try and eat more fruit and veg and drink water.
Second week. Reduce calories.
Third. Incorporate some walking into your day. Etc etc
You'll find if you start slow and focus on eating better first you'll have more energy and start to feel better so you what to carry on.
Do you want to look back in say, 4 weeks from now and be thinking "god I wish I just started back then!" Or look back and think "half a stone off! That was easy! NEXT!"
The time is going to pass anyway.
Don't make it too difficult. Losing weight is pretty simple once you get started.
Just take it one week at a time and before you know it you'll be motivated again Smile

Do you have a FitBit OP? I find mine so motivating to get more steps in, it's been a real game changer for me. I also do challenges with other posters, which engages my competitive side Grin Did an extra 15 minutes last night just to overtake another stepper...

Thanks all. I tentatively started today. I have decided to loosely follow the slimming world half plate veg concept and work from there.
I also need to cut out rubbish snacks as
I know that they are crap and don’t leave me any fuller and I must remember to drink more water.
I have ordered 30 day shred from eBay to try and get some exercise in once Dd is in bed.
I may use this thread as a way to log and to stay on task so please ignore me if it turns into rambling.

It’s not helpful that my scales vary by 7lbs depending on where I put them in the bathroom though. I would like to believe that the lower weight is right but I seriously doubt it.
Need to measure my various wobbly bits. Blush

Oh. I wonder whether that was offensive or spammy.
Maybe offensive would have given me the kick up the fat arse that is needed.

I’ve started today. I’m going to try Michael Moseley’s Blood Sugar Diet. I’m going to hate it but it needs doing.

Just wondering how everyone else is getting along.
I am half a stone down but it is coming off very slowly and is taking a lot of work. I can’t believe how much harder it is to shift since having Dd. I’m sure I wasn’t this strict before and it came off much easier.

Has anyone found anything that works particularly well?

I am also starting to worry that, rather than shrinking, my c section overhang might just end up looking like a sad balloon three weeks after the party Confused
