We’re a very friendly, supportive group, and all at different stages, but we’re all seeing some real changes in ourselves and our attitudes to food. It’s a long old road, but it helps to chat along the way

We tend to weigh in on Fridays or Saturdays, but feel free to join in at any time, with whatever weight loss method you think works best for you. Some of us have lost more than others, but we're all in this together, so if you're losing, gaining or staying the same, it's nice to have some inspiration to keep going.

We’re always welcoming to newcomers, but as with the previous thread(s), I’ll add one caveat - we’re all here because we are trying to lose a LOT of weight. If you’re looking to lose the last half stone, or even two or three stone, this might not be the thread for you. Good luck with your goals, but you may find more support with in threads with people who have similar goals to you.

Thanks for the new thread, honey.

Despite my last post saying bollocks to it, my 2lb weight gain over the last few weeks is really getting to me. I weigh daily so I can see the trend on the graph and it's not just fluctuations. I am still holding out a faint hope that it's my menstrual cycle as I haven't had a period since October. Whether that's perimenopause, medication changes (motherfucking antipsychotics are notorious for this sort of thing) or just stress from illness, who knows. Anyway, I want to be vigilant in guarding against weight regain, as I think I am at particularly high risk due to my madness, so I've gone back to a calorie deficit for a few weeks to see what that does and whether what I calculated as maintenance calories is just too high.

In more positive news, I ordered a lot of clothes to try on from Uniqlo and looked really pretty good in their medium size! My mood is no longer high so feeling like I looked good is quite a shock for me. I also was feeling bad that their trousers largest size was 30" and my waist is 30.5". Yeah well, turns out these numbers are meaningless crap (aren't all cloth size numbers meaningless crap?!) and my actual size is 27" which is right in the middle of their range. I hope I don't sound like I'm bragging as believe me this is all shock and surprise! I started as a size 26 and only measured my waist once I'd lost nearly two stones when it was 45".

Well done, fezzes, and good luck for your milestone this week. Your exercise plans are fantastic. You haven't let the side down, you're adjusted your plans in light of the realities and practicalities of real life. That takes strength of character as many people me would just give up!

Welcome Broken and good job on your progress so far. Your plans sound good to me as very similar to my own.

How are you, moonlight? How was the funeral? Did your growth scan go okay? You take care

Welcome hereforthelonghaul. Jump in and keep posting.

Good luck with the new machine, sneeze. Such a pain to get up and running but will be great once it's done. Good job on your Chinese takeaway choices.

Well done for not binging, Cult. Please don't be too hard on yourself. Everyone is a work in progress and there is no such thing as perfection.

Welcome back, Post! Best of luck with both WW and gynaecology.

Welcome Teapot and Fancy and good luck with your plans.

Hello, could I please join you guys? I'm hoping to lose approximately 140lbs (10lbs down so far!) and I'm back on the low carb wagon as I have issues with binge eating and sugar is a massive issue for me.

I haven't read the previous threads as they've always been quite well established and it seems hard to join in a very busy thread. I'll have a browse of the last few pages of the previous link posted ☺️

Hi MrsScamander, welcome. We're always open to new people - losing this much weight is pretty daunting and taking the first step can come at any time.

I’ve been four days on the blood sugar diet now and I’m down to 15st 7 pounds. Still a long way to go but that’s four pounds down in a very short space of time so I’m definitely going to keep with it!

Thanks honey and otter for the welcomes

All is going in the right direction here and I feel a bit calmer as a result. Survived pmt without bingeing too. My trousers are certainly a bit looser too.

I'm a bit down at how much weight I have to lose but more because I want to date and socialise and that's hard to do being so overweight. I know it's my problem to overcome and socialising won't just be a breeze because I am a normal weight. I don't find it easy. May as well start practicing socialising now!

Hello new thread!! Hello new people!!!

So this week has been tough, I have eaten chocolate every day- not a lot but more than the abstaining I was managing before, work is so so busy and I have reverted to old ways of nibbling on chocolate at my desk rather than having my actual lunch
I am cross with myself because, whilst for some not cutting things out completely works, for me, I have to abstain from sweet stuff completely or I’m likely to binge and now I have to start all over again when I was doing so so well.

Remarkably and not at all deservedly I have lost 1.6 (i think) pounds this week meaning I have hit 2 stone gone!! This has given me the extra spur I needed to nip the chocolate nibbling in the bud- what would I have lost if I hadn’t eaten the chocolate!?

Onwards to a new week!

Start weight: 260.8lbs
Weight last week: 234lbs
Weight today: 232.4lbs

Total lost: 28.4lbs

Loss this week: 0.25lbs Sad
Lost to date: 90.50lbs
To lose: 22.25lbs

Not sure why such a small loss this week. I am feeling a bit flarey and swollen so that might be why. Oh well, I've lost 90lbs, I'm not giving up now. Koko!

Hello all, not checking in with the weight now as its all baby! I'm 39+3 so the clock is ticking down slowly but surely.

The funeral went well on Monday, lots of family came and I and my dad did the eulogy. I got through to the last paragraph of the eulogy before crying! I think my mum would have been pleased with the whole day.

Food lately has been a bit up and down, lots of bad bits but some lovely healthy dinners in between. I keep wanting massive slabs of chocolate Blush

Thanks for the new thread honey and welcome all you newbies, hope you find this thread as supportive as I do.

Moonlight 39+3! Gosh that's flown by! Do you have support in place for after the birth? I couldn't have survived without my friends, who although lived in my phone at the time, were absolutely invaluable. They are my girls ❤️

I'm sure you all did your mum proud moonlight

I'm feeling very pleased after my first properly made salad. It had a small baked sweet potato, some marinated bbq chicken that I had frozen as a protein backup, avocado, lettuce and cucumber with some balsamic vinegar drizzled over it.

I enjoy cooking and enjoyed the prep as much as the eating!

I have - being truthful - about twelve stone to lose; being realistic, ten

I hear you, Otter on the anti-psychotics: five stone in five weeks Angry - wouldn't have been aa bad if I hadn't already been obese Grin

hereforthelonghaul Thank you, some days I do feel really great being able to be more active and being me again.

However I still feel fat, tbf I still am, around 45lbs to go. It’s a struggle getting the mind to catch up with the body changes.

I feel like I’m trying to get a right body image mentality now, by doing boot camp it challenges me and I can do more than I thought and if I struggled I can see how I improve each week.

But the big thing will being able to shop in ‘normal’ shops. Too scared to really tr, I’ve gone Asda and Peacocks where my top half is a 16 but I do believe they size a bit bigger than average. So this is a mini goal and will be a confidence boost for me, may be by Easter.

I know all shops size different but I feel like I’ve work hard that I don’t want to have to get a 18 for example Debenhams and Dorothy Perkins and this size is classed as their plus/curved range. Anything buttoned in general I’m a 18.My weight is all round my middle too so I feel frumpy and something’s then end up being big on the arms and baggy round the middle or the other way round.

The end goal is 12-14 and see where I’m at and how I feel. This is such a emotional rollercoaster sometimes but the main thing for us all is to koko.

fezzesarecool · 26/01/2019 17:06

(Sorry for the moan!) I would obviously rather be the weight I am now rather than where I was but some weeks it’s very hard to keep positive and the end seems just as far away as it’s always been.

Report
Cultofpersonality · 26/01/2019 17:40

No worries for the moan there fezzes we all need a moan or two every so often!

You’re doing great!

I’m joining the gym on Wednesday- which is my first day off or I would go sooner to get it over with- and honestly I’m crapping myself. I know people won’t be looking at my wobbly bits and will be concentrating on their own work outs but I just can’t shake the feeling that I’ll be judged so badly! I’m more confident in the pool cause then at least I’m covered but I want to mix it up and not just swim for exercise.
Please someone tell me to get my stuff together! 😂

Cultofpersonality thank you, just having a off day got a cold and Af due and muscle ache!

You will be fine at the gym and it’s perfectly normal to be shitting yourself! I felt so scared when I started exercising in public! But think of it as part of the process of getting your confidence back, seeing what your body can do and trying out a activity that may end up part of your exercise plan.

If anyone does judge you they can go fuck themselves! They are not part of you life and try not to let if affect you.

My Boot Camp trainer is very supportive of my goals and I have a brilliant relationship with him. I’m a bit of a project for him now as my journey shows what he can do as a professional. So be open with members of staff and ask loads of questions and you will find one that you really gel with.

Taking this step is incredibly brave of you and inspiring to the members and lurkers on this thread.

If you want you could try to do something beforehand to give you a confidence boast, like a short jog/run round the block one night.

Let us know how it goes 😄

Thanks so much fezzes!

I think the thing I’m scared about the most is being judged by the trainers. I’m sure they’re not going to be as horrible as they are in my head!

Going for a jog sounds like a good idea. I’ve got some new leggings and trainers so might just do that!

Hey, gotany welcome along :)
