Reasons for losing weight

I have found my motivation and I'm determined to shift this 1.5 stone that has been beating me for years. Here are my reasons why:

  1. My work uniforms don't fit properly, I can feel the tight around my stomach and it makes me so uncomfortable.
  2. I want to feel comfortable in my clothes when the spring/summer comes. I have lots of vests and shorts and if we get another summer like last year I want to feel happy in them.
  3. I carry all my weight around my stomach and sometimes I see people looking at my stomach as if they're trying to see if I'm pregnant. It makes me very self conscious.
  4. I want to eat healthier.

So those are my reasons and I really want to stick to this. Im 5ft3 and currently 11 stone 2. I'm aiming for 10 stone with 1st target being 10.7.
Anyone else want to join me?

  • Clothes - I want to fit into all of them, not just squeezing into 25% of them and wearing mostly 10% of them! I like my clothes and it feels a bit Sad just looking at them in the wardrobe.

  • My boobies - at this weight I really put on weight here - plus I get more "apple" shaped as I get heavier.

I know if I lost 1.5 to 2 stone I could wear ALL my clothes happily! And my body would mostly fall into proportion (I'd probably always be a bit chubby round the waist - but at least I'd have one).

It almost feels like a dream though. I know it will take a big change of habits and lots of perseverence to get there. At my age and limited activity (disability) it will probably take a whole year to lose 30 pounds, realistically. Sorry to be a bit glum. I'm still going to try to do it though.

It doesn't have to be a dream, and slow is good too. You can do it! I also have lots of nice clothes that would look so much better on me if a has this weight off. Have you got a plan?
I got a new Fitbit for Christmas and am going to combine it with my fitness pal. By the end of February be a good way towards my target 🤞

I'm heavier than I would like, I notice it so much on my belly. My Uniform is tight and my swim costume is too small. I'm 5ft 2 and 10stone now. I was 8 and half stone and felt so much healthier. I just can't stop binge eating

I'm the same hippo - its been like this for years! The clothes thing really bugs me. (Sometimes I wish we wore saris, so beautiful and flattering and comfortable).

I have a plan - but its a bit long-winded to into the whole thing! I have been trying to see where I have been going wrong and decided my portion sizes are too big and I also think I need to eat lighter food - some of my wholefood cooking is a bit stodgy and high in calories.

Really, its looking at trying to correct some of the weaknesses in my previous plans.

But mostly its eating less .... Smile

Whats your plan hippo? Have you got a plan Ami?

I meant eating hippo, or is it mainly fitbit?

The way I look at it is I've got a year to change my habits, or shut up forever [about diets] and accept who I am.

You can do it Mildew, you'll be amazed how much difference you can make in a year if you're in the right frame of mind.

My plan is to log everything on my fitness pal, be aware of my activity through Fitbit and generally eat less.

Thanks Hippo, I was a bit down last night. I am realising that my illness definitely affects my weight and metabolism so its harder if thats possible! So I have to think much more intensely and creatively for any results! I hope that makes you appreciate your fitbit activity capacity even more!

I think a year is a good time frame because you can really take the time to find out and "settle" into what works for you, though I know for most people that would be too long and unnecessarily long even. I just don't want to lose 5 kg, 10 kg, or even 15 kg, and then put it all back on again. I'd almost rather not lose it in the first place IYKWIM.

Onward and upward, today is a new dawning Smile.

I binge eat. Generally my meals are balanced but when I'm bored I'm terrible. I'm trying to cut out dairy again, I'd never felt healthier than when I was dairy free. My children are already so it shouldn't be hard

p.s. I forgot to add I'm 5 ft 6 inches, and around 13 stone. At 11 stone I'd be positively svelte.
