Half a stone off in January

Smarshian · 31/12/2018 12:57

I joined a half a stone thread in June, July and August and then trailed off. Managed to lose almost 2 stone between June and November but then have just ignored what I've eaten since then. A bit terrified to weigh myself but reckon I've put at least half a stone back on.
Will weigh in tomorrow but my aim is to get to 9stone 9. Think I'm currently around 10stone 9/10. Half a stone in January would be a great start and then maybe 3/4 pounds in Feb/March. Anyone want to join? Any method you choose - support thread for all.

I'm in Smile. Could do with a group to make me accountable. Lost 3 1/2 stone since August on the divorce diet but have stalled now I am feeling more on an even keel emotionally and am determined to keep going now I have had a good start.

Half a stone in January would be brilliant. I am planning on running 3 times a week when possible and using MFP for calorie tracking.

Glad you're joining me 'BlindTipsy' - I had some success with Slimming World earlier this year so thinking about restarting that, but will try to just focus on upping my fruit and veg and reducing choc/crisps/wine.
Enjoying some prosecco before I start tomorrow.
Also signed up to 365 miles in 365 days challenge.
Do you have a lot to lose overall?

Excellent - a few recruits!
What are your plans to lose? I've started today with small bowl of shreddies, clementine, banana for breakfast. Chicken rice and pea and sweet corn for lunch. Just had a couple of small chocolate coins as I couldn't resist and frankly I'm terrible at sticking to a diet if I completely deprive myself of treats. How's everyone else's day going?

My plan is to walk more, eat less and drink more water, will download mfp and log everything that passes my mouth for a week to see where I can cut out the damage and adjust accordingly.

Aww - lovely to see more people joining us! Happy New Year everyone.

Just done my first run of the year - I am painfully slow (get overtaken by fast walkers Grin) but improving.

I have about another 2 1/2 to 3 stone I want to lose but know this is going to take longer than the first chunk did and that's fine with me. Just want to be healthier and feel a bit more confident.

Have eaten pretty healthily today but am giving myself a little bit of leeway for the next day or so until the kids get back to school and I go back to work.

I will be officially weighing in tomorrow after a good start today. Have also gone through my bank balance and realised I'm totally skint this month! So frugal meal ideas would be much appreciated if anyone has them! Got food planned for the next few days already.

I'm in, but starting tomorrow as today was a finishing up of Christmas stuff day. Nothing fancy planned, just sensible eating with a bit of calorie counting, and some exercise thrown in for good measure. Should be easy, right?!

I'm in! I need to drop a minimum of 2.5stone, probably 3. I'm 40 in July and would really like to be back to a size 10 for that (I'm currently 14-16). 8:16 intermittent fasting works for me with mfp as back up, and once I'm over this dose I have I'll be swimming 2-3 times a week and I hope running twice.

Me please! I lost about 10 pounds in autumn and reached my target weight. But ten days with a house full of family, edible gifts, lots of home made breads and cakes, and I'm dreading the scales! My trousers still fit (they didn't when I started the weight loss journey in the autumn) so I'm not back to where I started. But last year I just let the pounds add up, so January 2019 is going to be the year that I put things straight before bad habits set in.

The plan:
Healthy breakfast - porridge
Packed lunch to work to avoid canteen temptation
Family dinner with sensible portion control. No nibbling all evening.
Cycling to work.
Bribe - money saved on petrol / bus / bought food at work goes in a jar and is used to treat myself when I hit target.
Take pride in myself. Tidy hair, neat nails, enough sleep. Trying to feel comfortable.

Hi all I would like to join. I am looking to shift 1.5 - 2 stone.

I am 4ft 11 and around 9st 12 though will weigh myself in the morning.

I have fibromyalgia and ache something awful and hope by losing the weight it will help ease the pain.

I won't be following a specific diet but aim to cut down the carbs and stick to 1200 calories. I will use mfp to track.

Moving more is a bit hard due to the fatigue and pain I feel but will do as much as I can as some days are better than others.

Ok so I'm all weighed in and ready. Has everyone started now? What's the plan?

I'm planning 10k steps a day, more water and 1200cals wth mfp (and this time not skipping meals and just eating choc to stay under cals Blush)

Day one for me, so time to brave the weighing scales.

I feel a bit lethargic and I know that my diet has not been great for the last week or so, but the damage on the scales is not quite as bad as I feared it might be. Half a stone off this month would be a good target. Are we having a weekly weigh in?

I'm sticking to the plan I set out last night, but I need to drink more water (tea has taken over, with Christmas cake, for the last week!) and like slippers I need to use calories for healthy / proper food rather than eating chocolate Blush

DCs are not back at school yet, but this is my last day off work, so I'm getting back to normal routines and better eating tomorrow.

Welcome all. How have your first couple of days gone?
I've officially weighed in tonight at slimming world. 10st 8.5lb. Not quite as bad as I thought. Set my target at 9st 10lb, so 12.5lb to lose.
I've had a fairly good start to my year, eaten fairly healthily and went for a small (slow) run yesterday.
I find it difficult to get time to exercise as I have a (just turned) 2 year old and an almost 7 month old, but I've set myself a challenge of running 365 miles this year, so need to keep on top of that!
I will be documenting my food starting from tomorrow and weighing in on a Tuesday as that is my slimming world group normal day.
Hope the first few days have been ok for you!

It's a good start for things to be not as bad as you feared, Smarshian Smile

I forgot to weigh in this morning, I will tomorrow. I was just over my 1200 cals (unfortunately I found the last of a selection box in the kitchen) today but I went for a short jog/plod which brought me back down. I still have this cough/cold thing so I'm doing very well not to eat the biscuits evil dh brought home with him. Herbal tea for me instead...

Right - kids are back off to school. Time to start this properly!

Like @Smarshian the damage wasn't as bad as feared from Christmas which I am hoping means that my eating habits have actually changed. 7lb would take me down to my next stone bracket which is nice and neat.

Hope everyone else is doing well?

I weighed this morning 10stone 7. I really need to at least get down to about 9 stone 5.
I'm trying to stop snacking and smaller portion sizes. With some exercise.
Good luck everyone.

Right, so far this morning I've had 2 milky coffees (necessary with my non sleepers!), a slice of brown toast with butter, a pear and a banana.
Lunch will be soup and fruit.
Homemade fish pie for dinner.
Will try not to snack on too much rubbish, may allow myself 1 or 2 choc coins that are leftover or a bag of snack a jacks. Will also drink plenty of water and have a run scheduled in for when the kids are in bed.
What has everyone else got planned for today?

Well I haven't eaten much in a few days as my partner walked out day before new years eve. And I've just felt sick and nauseous since.
So far today I've made a complan drink at least I know I've had something inside me. I was going to try porridge but the thought of it made my tummy flip.
I'm walking about a mile later to take my 3 year old on a play date.
Need to start building up what I eat but make sure it's healthy.

Oh hi! I'll join too. Have my DD christening in 5 weeks. Half a stone before then would be good.

Today I had bacon eggs and mushrooms for breakfast. It's so hard to resist the Christmas chocolates!

Sorry to hear that, neverending, hope you're minding yourself.Flowers

I weighed in this morning... 80kg . So that's 15 to drop before the end of July. I'm going to try a swim tonight although I didn't sleep much with coughing last night. I need to get into the habit of doing something every day though so it's a start. I didn't have breakfast but had an amazingly good sandwich in a cafe for lunch. I'm on gruel rations for dinner Blush
