New Year, New Motivation - The Notso’s are back on track!

I can’t remember how many threads we’ve had now, but here’s the new one.

My plan is to go get back to 1250 calories per day using MFP and my shiny new fitness tracker. I had lost 10lbs from Nov-Dec this way and found it manageable. However, I won’t be starting until Jan 1st as I’ve a few parties and stuff on (and it wouldn’t be a well thought out plan if I didn’t procrastinate about starting).

My goal is a holiday we’re going on at the end of March, I will need to be in a swimsuit for some of it so need to get my shit together.

I think everyone on this thread has tried every diet going so newcomers feel free to join, there’s lots of support and understanding.

Thanks for the new thread Sol.

Well done on your 10lb. I’m off out now but I will post later.

Hello all.
I’m new to the thread!
I have just joined WW in the hope that I can actually lose 3-4 stone this year. I’m actually now starting to see and feel the effects of the extra weight I’m carrying and it’s not good. I’ve been in denial in the past!
I find it really hard to lose weight and I get demotivated when I don’t see a loss but I really need to overcome this.
What do you all do for motivation?
Here’s to a healthy 2019 everyone!

Afternoon everyone.

I must be about 12st. Starting fresh on Wednesday 2nd January. My aim is to get back to 9st 6lbs and maintain it.

The sad thing is I've still be going to the gym so it just proves that it's true that it's 80% diet.

Just heading to my parents so have packed up all the naughty foods like cheese, pate, chocolate and we will start with a empty fridge 😬

sol sounds like a good nov/dec weight wise.

Welcome lulu well done for joining ww

Hi Lulu, what plan are you doing on WW? I was a big propoints fan but i think that was about 7 years ago.

I haven’t had my weigh in yet, I’ll save that for Tuesday. I’m dreading it. But I finished all of the crisps and stuff earlier and I’ll be buying no more.

I got a fitness tracker and I’m so surprised by how few calories I burn just being busy. No wonder it makes feck all difference, Inneed to stop eating crap.

Hi Rachey. Thanks. Have a lovely time at your parents. Once you’re home you can focus 100% with no naughty foods in sight! There’s so much here! Chocolates, crisps, sweets. It will be impossible to finish before Tuesday.
Sol, I think i’m just going to log smartpoints. I have done SW before and I can’t get results from eat as much free food as you like. No count sounds similar right? I hope smartpoints will help me get used to the correct portion size that I should be having. Good luck with the weigh in! Onwards and downwards!!
I went food shopping this afternoon and there are already moans about the lack of snacks. One of my boys will happily eat fruit and veg sticks with hummus but the other one is a serious salad dodger!!

Lulu I struggled massively on SW. The amount of free carbs was insane and I need to cut down on carbs, having said that I just ate a doughnut 🙈

We tend to be a crisp free house, I buy share packs on the weekends, not because I’m a strict Mum but otherwise I would eat everything in sight. How old are your kids? My two are good eaters but I can be a bit repetitive with meals because I’m knackered after work.

Yay ! New thread. Happy new skinny year ladies.
Welcome to Lulu.
I weighed in - not pleasant. Think I need to lose 24lbs.
Starting weight is as always 😳 11.8

Lulutheboss · 30/12/2018 19:10

Thanks Pomegranate. I like that! Happy skinny new year to you too!
Same thing here. It’s the amount of chocolate I would eat. Just grazing throughout the day, I could put away a huge bar! My husband buys me chocolate on his way home from work. It’s a sweet gesture but i’ve told him to stop. If it’s in the house, I eat it, often out of boredom.
My boys are 12 and nearly 10. The little one is very active and very slight. The big one has packed on a few pounds recently so I really want him to embrace a healthier lifestyle. He’s just started high school and has been buying too many snacks in the canteen. I’ve had to stop putting money in his dinner account! I know he won’t like the changes I’m intending to make.

That’s difficult Lulu- he’ll probably have a tantrum but stand firm.
I really want a good start and to stop losing the same stone. Might try chocolate free January???
We could get a treat at the end maybe, new top??

My motivation (which is lacking at times) is feeling healthy and wearing nice clothes. Managed a 20 min run this morning but felt every one of the mince pie lbs !

Report
Lulutheboss · 30/12/2018 19:33

Well done on that run! Yeah, that’s definitely my motivation too. I want to wear nice clothes. I used to love Joe Browns but I feel too fat to wear quirky stuff at the moment. Also, my asthma is progressively getting worse, the heavier I get.
I’m up for a chocolate free January. I don’t drink so dry Jan is no good for me! Let’s do it!

Pomegranatepompom · 30/12/2018 20:32

Ok let’s do choc free January! Could we start Jan 2 though ? Or shall we be really good and start Jan 1??????!!

2nd Jan please! Still working my way through chocolate mountain!

Nice! No, not yet. I have Christmas money but haven’t had a chance to browse without kids in tow.

Ooooh I love those Rachey, I haven’t been clothes shopping in the sales but I’ve been looking at new sofas for our house and I’ve booked a holiday to Spain. I’m not buying clothes because I’m too fat.

I’m on for no chocolate January Pom, but I might add bread to that as I’ve been eating quite a lot of it.

Woke up this morning feeling dreadful, really bloated and with indigestion and just gross. I think my body has had enough of the rich food and alcohol and is rebelling. We were put last night for dinner at an amazing Indian restaurant and I think that was the straw that broke the camels back, on top of the food I had a ton of wine, I have no control at the moment.

I currently have a pot of soup made from fresh veg on the hob and that will be my food for today, I genuinely feel like I’ve pushed my body too far, I feel so unwell.

Morning everyone. Welcome Lulu!

I’ll also be starting again on the 2nd (although I have no real plan at the moment)
Im definitely going for a dry January. I don’t eat much chocolate but cheese and crisps are my downfall. I rely on bread too much also.

I also feel like rubbish Sol. Your Indian meal sounds amazing though.
Hope the soup does the trick and you start feeling better soon.

So impressed with your running Pom. I’m nagging DH to clear all his rubbish off my treadmill. Definitely getting the exercise bike back out of the garage too.

I ike the clothes Rachey. I bought a skincare set and a hair set in the M&S 50% preview. Also bought some clothes but haven’t tried them yet, I bought the famous jumpsuit Blush.
We went to the shops yesterday but I didn’t have a chance to look at much.

Going to try to go for a walk today. Really need to clean the house , it’s covered in Christmas presents. Tempted to take the decorations down too.
Have a good NYE everyone.

Thanks for the kind words Green, I feel dreadful and I look 6 months pregnant, I’m wondering if something in the food didn’t agree with me.

I took down some of the decorations yesterday, just the cards, snow globes and a few of the bits stuck to doors and on counters and the fireplace, the house looks far less cluttered. I also paid the kids a tenner each to tidy their rooms and bring their presents upstairs. I know it’s terrible parenting but I didn’t want an argument and I wanted it tidy.

What sort of jumpsuit did you buy? I still can’t find one that suits me. I’m very jealous of you having a treadmill, I would love one bit we have no where to put it.

Hi! Can I join please? I gave birth at the end of August and have put on soooo much weight - I am feeling so depressed about it to be honest! Starting tomorrow,I'm eating healthily and doing more exercise! I ordered some resistance bands yesterday...

Sounds like that Sol.
I had a bad reaction to some spicy food in July. It was awful, sounds similar to how you’re feeling. Do you have any Buscopan? That helped a lot. I also started taking probiotics, kefir drinks and yogurt are also great when I feel bloated.

I’ve done the same with my DC before! Sometimes it’s just easier.

I’ll find the jumpsuit and link it.
The treadmill does not get used much. I’ve just been telling DH to clear it (again).

That jumpsuit is lovely! I was in M&S before Christmas and didn’t see it, I did get to hear a Dad ask his daughter if jumpsuits were “out and about onesies” though I will never forget the look of horror on her face.

Welcome Saminsachs, I know that depressing feeling of unmoving post-baby weight. Have you any idea what sort of plan you’ll follow?

I weighed in today, I figured I won’t be eating today so I want a proper idea, 221.6 lbs. All my 10lbs back on, Sad

Hello! I started dieting 2 days ago, I’ve sent DH to retrieve my treadmill today. I gained 5 stone in the last year when pregnant with my twins and I was overweight to begin with.

Hello all.
Sorry to hear that you’re feeling poorly sol. It does sound like something didn’t agree with you there.
Thanks green. Hope you feel better soon too. Love the jumpsuit. I can only dream about wearing one at the moment.
I don’t want to buy anything nice until I lose the weight. I’v been saying that for years and only buying supermarket clothes.
I’m having my last binge today (and maybe tomorrow) in preparation for no chocolate Jan!
Happy New Year to you all!
