I'm no saint, but what about using spices? I find I can eat my weight in bland lovely fried potatoes but season them well and a few do me where I would have had a bucket! (bump for you!)

What works for me:

Up fat intake a lot. I aim to eat about 25% protein, 60% fat, 15% carbs when dieting, more like 25% protein, 50% fat and 25% carbs when not. Fat helps you feel full. Use My Fitness Pal or similar to track what you eat and how much of each macro you're eating.

Make sure you eat lots of veg. Will probably feel like a ton initially because most of us don't eat nearly enough, we tend to eat the same small range of veg all the time and when we do eat veg we eat too many very starchy veg like potatoes. Veg tends to take longer to eat because of all the chewing and that slower eating helps your brain catch up to the fact that you're full, causing you to eat less.

Eat "real food." No heavily processed food like ready meals, a lot of stuff that comes in packets. Focus on unprocessed (e.g. an apple) or minimally processed foods (e.g. roasted nuts.)

Read this book that I love and always recommend to understand underlying psychological reasons why you overeat and how to break the cycle.

Thank you, I just don't understand how I can be so upset about my weight and want to eat well but just not be able to resist🙄I've been thinking of slimming world for a while now, I should probably give it a go!

I've dropped carbs. The food I eat instead is so much richer and tastier I eat far less.

You need to explore why you eat crap, what are your triggers.

I snack too much (on all the wrong stuff) when I'm bored. When I'm busy I don't have time to think about food.

I eat the wrong stuff when I'm bored or socialising. If I lived alone I think I'd be much better but it's hard living with other people if they have snacks in the house. Not sure how to tackle that because I can't just banish all junk food from the househmm

Read Brain over binge by Kathryn Hansen and listen to the podcast. It opened my eyes to my binge eating habit and unhealthy choices. I’m not perfect yet but I’m loads better than I was!

I have one photo of me ingrained in my mind in which I thought I looked awful I just keep reimagining that. Plus, once you start losing, it starts spurring you on to lose more. I find if I've exercised I don't want to undo all my good work on the food front, it helps me be more mindful throughout the day. In the short term, brush your teeth if you feel you're going to cave. The mintyness will stymie a craving.

Please not slimming world. Nobody ever truly keeps it off and you just end up replacing things with tasteless cardboard crap full of chemicals and artificial sweetener. Have you tried intermittent fasting? There are a few super helpful threads on here. I shall try to link.
