Loosing weight - worries

Hi,

I'm 10 weeks into my first pregnancy and I'm loosing weight (morning sickness is such a lie, how about all the time especially evening sickness).

I just wanted to know how much is too much to loose in the first trimester?

Talk to your midwife about it. However, persona experience is that I was 2stone overweight when I fell pregnant and lost 3stones over the course of the pregnancy. The baby was growing well so no problems.

I don't have an appointment with my midwife until December. I've been on my own weight loss journey leading up to getting pregnant (3 stone lost) but to keep loosing more now is worrying me.

I would go to the gp. How sick are you? You may need medication.

I think it is pretty common to lose weight in the first trimester.

How much have you lost and what is your BMI? I wouldn't be concerned about losing a pound or so a week in the first trimester unless your BMI is low or you aren't managing to keep anything down at all (leading to electrolyte imbalances etc which can be very serious).

If you are being very sick constantly then you need to seek medical advice. Are you keeping fluids down ok?

I've had two different lots of anti sickness meds from the drs and neither have worked very well.

Sometimes I can keep food down others I can't even manage water.

I've lost 9lbs in just under four weeks.
