Sorry not sure if I should post in this bit. I have kept bread in the house as I feel it’s not good to limit because the children eat it. If I’m honest I eat most of it. Just thinking if perhaps I didn’t have it in the house for a bit just to help me break the habit of having after work (in vast quantities) what other healthy options I could serve up for the kids. So far pasta .... and more pasta. Sorry if I’m wrong forum...

Bread is my binge food.

Tortilla wraps, pitta bread or rolls? If you buy just enough for the children's lunches there may be less of a temptation to snack.

Oatcakes. You could sandwich them together around soft cheese. Chicken pieces with salad vegetables. Rice cakes. Crisp breads.

I don't ever buy loaves but have wraps, rice cakes and the occasional roll for the kids lunches. I toast the rolls panini style. At breakfast they eat cereal and pancakes at the weekend.

They also love baked beans with cheese - cold (yuk ), mini sausages, ham rolled up and plain sushi rolls (cold rice wrapped in seaweed)

Mine have wraps with chicken or ham in their lunchboxes which they prefer over a sandwich! And I don't eat them because I don't like them so we rarely have bread in the house!

Great suggestions thank you- although may be tempted to eat the wraps too.... I know I’m greedy. Thank you so so much!!!

What sort of stuff do they have in their sandwiches? If you just put meat, cheese, chutney and pickles etc etc, you could buy rolls (find they are not affected), pre make them and freeze them.

We used to do this once a week for all of our work lunches. Take them out in the morning and defrosted by lunchtime. If I wanted some salad in them I would take that in a food bag and add it at lunch time.

Ah you see this is another great tip I thought premakong sandwich may work but not sure what freezes...fillings are usually fish (!), eggs, ham, pate, hummus turkey. Not sure what things could be frozen. That would stop me pecking at the bread.

Ham, chicken/Turkey, beef, cheddar and salami are ok and all the basic condiments that go with these.

Salmon and soft cheeses definitely don't freeze well. Perfectly safe to eat but texturally not nice.

Beyond this, I'm not sure, trial and error I guess.
