Join me losing 2lb a week until Christmas!

I'm possibly setting myself up to fail but enough is enough and I need to take control of my weight.
I'm getting married in 6 weeks and would love to shift about a stone by then and hopefully carry it through to Christmas with a goal of being 2 stone down for the New Year.

I'm currently 13st1, my ultimate goal weight is 10st but I think slow and steady is going to be more realistic.

Has anyone got any tips? Recipes or ideas?
I don't eat a lot of meat, I wasn't allowed growing up so not out of choice, I just never had. I do eat some fish and chicken.

We have young kids and my weakness is picking at their leftover tea or if they have treats in the house I just can't resist! Also when they won't go to bed i find myself eating really late dinners and often end up ordering rubbish food in from takeaways late at night out of ease/being lazy and tired!

I'm going to weigh myself every Wednesday and post it here so I can keep track / motivate myself so if anyone wants to join you're more than welcome!

I will join you please. I have 6 stone to loose, but have been staring at that number (and putting on weight) for the last few months and so 2 stone by Christmas seems a good target to start with. I'm currently 18 1/2 stone, and want to get back to 12 1/2.

I've signed up to a gym program and am watching what I eat. Tomorrow I am going to start recording what I eat and start wearing my fitbit again. On Friday I will try to get my scales working again.

@sleepingdragon that sounds like a great plan! Do you find your Fitbit helps?
I've downloaded the my fitness pal app to try and help with food tracking.

It definitely helps me be more active- I find it motivates me for a few months and when I start ignoring it I stop wearing I for a few weeks. I've never really used the food tracking/calories burnt functions, by am going to start now. A few people have recommended My fitness pal, it's supposed to be good.

I will join. Need to lose 3-4 stone.
Have a holiday with much skinnier friends and their husbands next summer and don’t want to feel like the beached whale in the group!
I started my diet on Tuesday. This time I have decided to do my own thing, as I have tried every club/plan etc and always fail.
Eggs for breakfast - omelettes/boiled/egg ‘muffins’
Lunch - chicken/tuna/ham salad with fruit and yogurt
Dinner - some type of protein with various veg and salad.
I love super dark chocolate and intend to have a couple squares when I feel the need. So cutting out a lot of carbs like bread, pasta and rice.
I am going to stick to no more than 1400 - 1500 calories.
Normally I do almost nothing regarding exercise so planning on walking more and doing weights with DH as he does weights in the evening.
I’ve never done a low carb diet so will see how things go!

Walking is definitely my exercise strategy to try and get in extra bits here and there. I walked to my local supermarket today for the first time (I've lived here 3 years) and it only took 20 minutes, I've been a lazy cow Blush

Hope all are doing well.

Walking is my exercise of choice as well. Three dogs to walk does usually help with that! I'm back to Fitbit and MFP (MyFitnessPal). I have to track or I lose the plot. Yesterday managed 20.5k steps. Today my legs aren't talking to me Confused They'll have to get over themselves as need to get the dogs out.

The Cold had me snacking again, so trying to stop the rubbish munching.

I've got my first wedding dress fitting next week which is really motivating me to keep going.
I've just worked out that since I ordered it about a year ago I've lost 1.5 stone. At the time I pledged I'd be 3stone down by now - I know 1.5 is still a good loss but it seems a bit rubbish for how long it's taken.
Time to get my butt in gear!

I'm sticking to around 1,200 calories a day and so far (touch wood) I haven't had any slips.

My fiancé is doing the Cambridge diet and lost 7lbs this week but my word the poor bugger is miserable and his breath smells like a dead rat Blush

1.5 stone is great. You know what they say slow and steady wins the race! So 6 weeks until your wedding, eek exciting!
I’m thinking about ordering a hula hoop to help with the exercise! My aunt has one and it’s helped her get some exercise in while she’s dieting. And she does it while watching the tv at night!
My weigh in day will be a Tuesday. Have so far managed to stay away from bread pasta etc. And to be honest I’m not really missing them!

I'll join you! I've not got too much to lose, just around 10lbs that I've gained since getting married last year. Hoping to lose 1lb a week from now until December. I've just booked 12 weeks of PT sessions and ordered a healthy shop and I am hoping this will kick me into shape. My eating habits have spiralled out of control.

Can I join you please. 12 weeks today is Christmas Eve and if I weighed a stone less by then I will be over the bloody moon!!!

I have a 'The Healthiest You' journal / tracker arriving today from Paperchase which does 12 week chunks of tracking food , exercise and water as well as goal setting pages so hoping that will keep me focused.
Am going to get DH to help me take accurate measurements this evening too.

Happy Monday all, hope everyone has a good start to the week!

I'll join please. I've got about 3 stone to lose, and a significant birthday next April that I don't want to look huge for.

Work ramped up massively about a year ago and that put a stop to the gym but im going to try to prioritise.

I've Also given up alcohol so I'm hoping that will help. I'll weigh in every weds too. Good luck everyone.

Reaaaaaally struggling with keeping my step count up - I'm spending hours in the car everyday (not journeys I can replace with walking / cycling) which isn't helping and I'm knackered from working long hours 7 days a week so by the time I do get home I just want to sleep! Rubbish.
Being very strict with food intake though and really chuffed with the my fitness pal app for helping with that.

Also period bloating never helps with motivation.. urgh.

Fingers and toes crossed for a weigh in starting with 12st this week and not 13..

Steps are difficult if you spend a lot of time in the car! We have a dog so that forces me to go for a walk most days (DH or kids walk her too) and I often invite my neighbour along as she always says she needs to move a bit more too so doing it with a friend makes it easier.

I had a really good day yesterday, I was generous with the calories I logged for all my food that I couldn't weigh or measure. For example I had a porridge sachet at work but didn't measure the milk so counted 100 cals / 200ml and I'm sure it was less. Same with the homemade veg curry for dinner, plus I resisted all but the smallest piece of naan!! Total calories were 1174. I also went to the gym and did 20mins of full on sweaty cardio so all up feeling chuffed. And it's all logged in my shiny new journal which I am very taken with Smile

Just need to keep the same level of motivation up long term and I'll be fine!!!

Me! Keep saying this and then falling through- am currently 9. 11 and at 5' it's not good! Going to start with cutting out sugar in tea/coffee, doing my 10000 steps a day and drinking more water!

First weigh in today for me and 5lbs off! Very pleased. I know that you always lose more at the start of a diet so would love to go for 2lbs in week 2. I stuck to my limited carbs all week apart from Friday night when we unexpectedly had friends over and we ordered an Indian. I had curry and rice but a very sensible portion and none of the accompaniments, and haven’t had any alcohol at all. I’m finding the no alcohol hard. Love a glass of wine.
Normally I miss all the bad foods like crisps and biscuits and pasta, but I can honestly say that I haven’t missed carbs yet. And I really hope I still feel the same this week.
Will check back in tomorrow for more weigh ins.

Happy weigh in day.

This time last week I was at 13st 1
Today I am 12st12.5

2.5lbs down Grin

Really pleased with that and know I could be better.
I ended up at Pizza Hut last night which is never a good one but other than that I've really stuck to my guns this time around.

I've lost 30lbs (it was 40lbs but had a good summer!) so far, but just looking at the calendar and 2lbs a week would putme at my goal by Christmas!
I'm doing 1200cal on MFP and walking lots. Might try to up the exercise.

I am going with a Friday weigh in as I always feel that gives me time to undo any weekend excess! My starting weight on Monday was 10st 11.2lbs and this morning I was 10st 8.6lbs so 2.6lbs down and I am bloody chuffed!!

There is no way I will lose 2lbs every week from now until Christmas as that would give me a goal weight of 9st 1lb which I think is unrealistic for me, I just really want my weight to begin with a 9!!

Hope others are doing well, it's nearly the weekend !!!

@Homemadehopeful that's fab, well done you!!
I bought a pair of size 12 jeans as motivation to try and be in them by my birthday in November and tried them on and they fit!!! A little snug but definitely buttoned up all the way Grin I've been a large 14/comfy 16 for so long. I was a 10-12 pre twins and I'm starting to realise that my body will never look like that again between the stretch marks and bobbly wobbly bits but I'm a lot happier already.
