I go on a 2 week holiday soon and I’ve totally failed at losing a few lbs and shaking up for it....
I could do with losing 1.5 st but haven’t been able to find the space in my head for fitness/weight loss due to the terminal illness and subsequent death of a close family member. I also work full time and feel guilty that exercising would eat into family time. I’m coming out the other side of the emotions now and I desperately want to kick start some good habits. I feel shit about my blobby body and want to get a grip on things now before i get bigger...
There will be daily yoga/exercise classes (30 mins) and the pool is only open to lane swimmers first thing in the morning.
I’m planning to take my running stuff and run then swim then yoga every day. Realistically I could do the run and swim before the DC wake up (they always lie in on holiday). I think I’ll be able to resist junk food.
My motivation is the biggest barrier but I feel this is a great opportunity to reset it and get my health mojo back. Being in a bikini every day should also spur me on!!
I mentioned it to a friend and she said “oh just enjoy yourself and don’t worry about it” but my habits atm are not good and if I come back from this holiday even heavier I’ll just feel like I’m spiraling down and down.
Has anyone else used a holiday as an opportunity to lose weight and shape up? I don’t expect to lose much but if it can get me back in the right frame of mind it feels like I should take the opportunity to do so!
