I've cancelled Weight Watchers!

That's it. I have officially cancelled WW. I was a SW member for over a year and have lost 4 stone but I am sick to death of pointing/tracking everything I eat!

Don't get me wrong, I am still going to eat healthy as it is a lifestyle change, not a diet! But I want to just enjoy a nice cup of tea with a couple of sugars without worrying how many points it is! I want to eat a seeded bread with some peanut butter spread, or even have a slice of garlic bread with my spag bol! Everything in moderation and keep the fatty and sweet stuff low key.

I have a MFP app, but I am going to see how this "healthy eating" regime goes, and weigh next week to see if I've maintained or lost. I will keep tracking my weight because I absolutely don't want to gain 4st back again!

Can I ask what it is all of you do to lose weight or to maintain? Thanks Smile

Did you lose the majority of the weight with Ww or SW?

4 stone is an amazing loss well done!

WW didn’t work for me. I changed my lifestyle and eating habits and I am now 3 stone lighter. 13 inches lost from the fattest part of my belly and I’ve kept it off since November last year!

I gain a couple of pounds notice and lose it again

But I walk a lot and go gym every other day (was 5-6 days a week)

I have started lazy keto . It goes completely against sw or Ww however I find it far more sustainable.

cup of tea with a couple of sugars without worrying how many points it is! I want to eat a seeded bread with some peanut butter spread, or even have a slice of garlic bread with my spag bol

Artificially sweetening the taste of a drink
Processed food
Double carbing in the same meal

None of these things are what constitutes a healthy diet - regardless which commercial diet you follow, or don't follow.

You're not teaching yourself to eat in a healthy way long term.

I'm not advocating weight watches. I don't advocate any commercial diet. I've lost over 6 1/2 stone in 2018 just by eating healthily, watching my calories and exercising heavily.

None of what you mention there are healthy ways of eating, not even in moderation. Especially when you are trying to maintain a calorie deficit to lose weight.

(Honestly, who wants pasta and bread in the same meal? When you're trying you lose weight too. And two sugars. Two? Blimey.)

There’s nothing wrong with garlic bread and pasta

Or having two sugars in a cup of tea

It becomes a problem if you’re having a huge portion. Or if you’re drinking 5 cups of tea a day.

Pick a weight you refuse to go above. Weigh yourself once a week. If you’re near to or above it, eat sensibly that week. Monitor your weight. If you’ve had a fry up for breakfast eat lightly for the rest of the day. If you’re going out to dinner eat lightly for breakfast and lunch.

Keep processed foods down to a minimum. Look at your portion size. Do you always clear your plate. How many “heavy” meals have you eaten this week.

I am on the vanity pounds thread, have lost 5lbs in 4 weeks.
I eat pasta, with garlic bread , have sugar in my tea and have peanut butter.
I just don't eat fifty tonnes of it.
Destiny's comments would make you think you'd been main lining a duck fat and syrup cocktail.
I think as long as the main bulk of your diet is healthy you should be ok.
Your loss so far is great.

I gave up conventional dieting in April when I realised how very counterproductive it was.

I eat healthy, unprocessed foods now, within an eating window of 8 hours a day.

I don't eat sugar or junk food or bring these foods into the house

I allow myself a cheat meal once or twice a week, usually when dining out (eat out a lot for work) or a social occasion.

I've taken up running.

The weight has come off slowly (apx one pound a week) but I'm going to keep on doing this pretty much forever so it could be one pound a month for all I care, it'll still come off before it goes back on.

I feel liberated from many years of diet treadmill hell!
